I could use a random beach day. The wife has been making me work and think. I'd rather veg. She's got it in her head that she's getting a new car but there's a shit ton of hoops to jump through for that to happen. I hate jumping through hoops.

Not new, just new to her. There's no way in hell I would get into a new car especially since the payments would be more than what I pay now. The only way she's getting anything new(er) is if the payments were exactly the same or less.

Thats the same way i be thinking but due to my family situation i ended up getting a second car , which i thanx god i paid cash for it snice my coupe kinda small to fit every body in. but the debt part was frist thing i took care of and should be everybody's goals now adays

I hear ya man but my situation is a bit complicated. My mother in law has a piece of shit Oldsmobile that is not too far away from leaving her stranded. We were going to "sell" her my wife's TL that way she has a good dependable car to get her going. The money we sell her the car for kills the loan on the TL so we'd be starting new on the newish car for the wife. I know my limit on what I can afford and that's what's driving this. I'm also making almost double now as opposed to a few months ago when I was in NY and stand to make more once I'm overseas. All of it being tax free. In that time, I'm going to kill as much of my debt as possible as well as have money put away. The kids will be starting school this fall so the wife is going to be even more bored at home so she's going to work. She's been working her tail off putting applications and putting out her resume the entire time we've been in Miami so I don't think she's going to have a problem finding work. All that put together will be plenty of ammunition to kill all debts save for the two cars. Hell, we could probably knock down the debt on the cars considerably as well. Only time will tell.

yeah but you are in FL now, and there is no income tax...so compared to getting paid in NY, that alone will make a huge difference in one's paycheck!

I got offered a job for my company in FLA. No taxes is good but, the pay cut made me want to throw up.

I see what you mean Mark. Yeah, no state tax is nice but since I never changed my residency the entire time I've been in the military, I never had to worry about NY state tax. One of the perks of being in the military.
