Well, this was a long time ago when I was like 19 or 20.  Needless to say, I practiced a little "environmentalism" (as you VA people say) before going in, then they gassed me, gave me an IV with something that made me start to float about 2 or 3 feet above the chair, and then they hit me up with novocaine.  They did a good job of making sure I was PTFO.

Like I said before, I got lucky and had my shit pulled when I was under for reconstructive surgery after my car accident. Like Tim, I was pretty smashed as well as completely knocked the fuck out when I got them pulled. That was over 12 years ago.

They all got pulled from what the doc told me. My neck is swollen on that side too. I just didnt think it was possible to grow more teeth after they pulled them. If it's a tooth then the doc will have to put me on antibiotics for a week then pull them out. At least I'll get lortabs out of it.

Right there with ya sir except mine were never pulled. Mine are impacted and I havent had much pain out of them at least nothing that wasnt tolerable. Well i woke up one morning two weeks ago and it wasnt tolerable. Went in last week and they gave me hydrocodone which is basically vicodin, they gave me the same but then upped it to actual vicodin I think. IIRC the hydrocodone is ibuprofen based and the stuff they gave me was bigger and stronger. I was actually supposed to be getting the lowers out today but had to reschedule for next Weds. Ughhhh

Get these taken care of asap man I actually ended up in my situation partly because I waited to have an impacted wisdom tooth removed.

Yeah I'm gonna get it knocked out next week. Just the bottom though, the tops are fine and never have given me a problem.

You will be fine my condition was mega rare but, big issues can arrive from these stupid teeth that our bodies should have evolved to not have. What I had was an ameloblastoma, which is a rare tumor that can grow during the forming of teeth. It is non cancerous but, extremely invasive, and will penetrate and grow inside a bone thus making it hollow (dead) and extremely weak. The result of this in my case was that my jaw bone was surgically removed from a quater inch below the joint with the upper mandible, and a quater inch from my chin. If I had gone to get my wisdom teeth at least looked at sooner the issue would have been noticed, and much easier to correct. I've learned my lesson to get medical issues taken care of right away unfourtunatly as luck would have it there were some mistakes made during my surgury and this i'm still forced to deal with this bull shit.

Some of you may know already but I am a senior in high school. My school has begun a transition to a digital learning environment. Basically they are buying all students in my school district a MacBook, replacing all books and adding other technology. In my school, 9-12, there are 2500 students. I have no clue how many total students there are. They have a 5.5 million dollar budget for making the transition and it begins this semester. Im all for the technology but I am not sure that it makes much sense to do it at this time. Also, damage control. I know people are going to break, sell, or lose them. Have any of you had a school like this? We are the first in MS, so there really isn't anyone who can answer questions. If you did have a school like this, did you like it? Do you guys think it is a good idea to spend 5.5 mil on computers? It has been a pretty hot topic here lately and I just wanted to see what other people had to say.

I remember when I was in college, my last year there, they made all new students get PowerBooks.  I took advantage of this because it was extremely helpful for me.  I was able to get a lot of software and hardware at a good discount because of it in a "bundle" they sold that was tailored to my major.  If you know anyone that's selling their MacBook, let me know.  I'll buy it!!

MacBooks are sweet, I'd def be on board for that. It sounds like your school is ahead of the curve. I can see in the near future, every school will have to have a computer for every student to keep up with new technology. 5.5mil doesnt sound like enough money though.

Im am fully onboard and am pro mac, I just dont know how well its going to work. I go to school with some pretty rough people. Tim, I'll talk to you in May. We will have the option to buy it a depreciated cost. So I'll see if you are interested then. They are the new ones with Snow Leopard (64 bit finally!). I am getting a MacBook Pro for graduation, so I will have no need for it. If I know anyone else sooner, I'll let you know.

Yo, make sure they knock you out!  They didn't do mine, and said it wasn't going to be that bad, they just novacained around each tooth.  Doc said they normally do two shots on each tooth.  I had all four pulled at once.  After the shots settled in they stared messing around...I was like "WTF OWWWWW!!!!!!"  doc looked at me like I was nuts.  I said "you better give me more or I'm gonna hit you"...(this was about ten years ago for me too...19 or 20, I don't know...but I'll be 32 in december)...  Now I am 6'2" and at the time probably about 235 lbs...so the doc was like OK...they ended up putting over 4 shots in each tooth, some got 6.  But I was awake during the whole thing...you don't feel anything but them pulling, and the pressure from it, but that's not even that bad.  HEARING your tooth as it's being pulled out is the last thing you ever want to hear, and I'll just leave it at that.
