thanks for the support guys. Slowly but surely the image starts to go away. As I start to do other things and go about my day, the image begins to lessen. I think I am starting to finally grasp the concept that yesterday did happen and there was nothing I could really have done

Guys, I saw the worst thing I have ever saw tonight at work. The guys and myself went to dinner and after we got done eating, we were all sitting there chatting and a call came out an accident with injuries in the westside and a child struck. We get there and it was a 5 year old child... I had to help EMS carry the board and gear down to the little guy and when I saw him i am glad i did not freeze up, but he was bad looked to be 3 foot tall or so and blood all over his arm that was kinda out to the side and had the breathing mask on him and his eyes were struggling to stay open. They got him to the ambulance and got him to the hospital. Turns out the known alcoholic grandmother who was taking care of him let him run out into the street(not a busy street) and he ran out in front of a car and they were both hit. The grandmother was not harms very badly but the child was in critical condition... Well, after about an hour my friend who just got in from iraq yesterday calls and wanted to meet up for dinner so i took him to a sushi bar here and when we walked out a dispatcher that we both know called us over to where they were and i asked her is she had heard anything on him.... BAD IDEA... The kid passed away shortly after getting to the hospital... Ever since they got the little guy in the ambulance I have not been able to get the picture of him out of my head... I guess that is just one of those things that goes with working for Pd but it is like no matter how hard I try i cannot get the image of him to go away... Just about to turn 5 years old, an innocent little child. Why do things like this happen to children?
Dude, I swear I teared after reading this. Hell, I'm still tearing while typing this. With my boys being about that age, it hurts me to read this kind of shit. But thank you for doing what you could to help that kid. God forbid that kind of shit happens to my kids, I just hope someone like you comes to help. People like you are rare. Most people just stand by and do nothing, or just turn their heads and walk away.

Thanks Z, The feeling has somewhat lessened as the day has gon by but i still cannot shake the image of the child. The worst part of it was the fact that the mother blamed two of the officers for the whole thing. Last week two of our guys got a call on the grandmother and the same child as a check well-being call. The grandmother is a known drunk and there were no signs of neglect the child had food water shelter bathed and clothed, so the officers called the mother instead of having the state coming to get them and the mother gave the kids back to the grandmother and look what happened PURE BS!! Still the image stays in my head but the feeling of down and despare has kinda lessened. Still it kills me knowing that an innocent child was killed because of a drunken grandmother

Everything in life happens for a reason whether it's to the innocent or guilty. Things may happen to the innocent in order for karma to come full circle to the guilty. I'm not a really religious person but I've always believed that when it's your time it's your time. If you look at some of the things that happen to people and the accidents that people have crawled out of with no injuries it just makes sense. There's been people that have survived falling from insane heights, high speed accidents where the car looks like a piece of tin foil but people have died from tripping over something in their house just happen to hit the head the wrong way. Of course everybody's body is different but some of this stuff is just inexplicable. That's why I believe everybody has their specific time to go and if it aint your time then regardless of what happens you're not gonna go. It's kind of a cold explanation to what you had to experience but it helps me out in these types of situations.

Thanks D, As always the media is making the police out to look bad in this situation and the grandmother out to be a hero. Not once did they mention that she was drunk when it occurred

Quick Question, If I were to get Tein S-Techs, what other suspension modifications would I need to make? I dont want any side effects such as abnormal tire wear. I looked in the suspension sub-forum, but I wasn't able to find a direct answer or a suitable thread to post my question in.

I guess he has money to burn. I'd rather waste my money on parts that actually make my car faster, hookers, and drugs. Fucking amateurs. :

You should have posted that question in a new thread in the correct forum in the first place.

Depends on the shooting range where you go. The one I go to prohibits incindiary tracers but allows standard tracers.

Let me better explain.. as some of ya know.. I lent my wife THE HULK... and specifically told her never to park head on.. always in reverse... you think she listened?
NO !!!
she parked head on w/ both kids... went grocery shopping.. didn't notice the lip was over the parking bump.. hit reverse and
BAM !
broke off both tabs from the bumper and ripped off the underbody protection... so yesterday I was pissed off and decided to fix everything or try and fix it... I tried to put my hydro jack under the car.... shit didn't fit.. and I don't have the old school jack... I had to put on my gloves and push up the car and kick the hydro jack under.. what a f#@!n6 mission... sigh... put the HULK is back to normal.. I just have to get a new bumper or do some custom crap to fix the tabs where the scrwe goes in and connects to the fenders...

There are two options you have for jacking up a lowered car. 1. get a lower jack. 2. Get some 2"x4"s to drive up on to raise the height of your car so you can fit the jack under it.
