FWIW, it's a good idea to take some time for yourself and not jump into the arms of another woman right away.  Best thing I ever did after a bad break up was live by myself and stay single for a few years.  I learned a lot in that time.

Chris- I've been following what you've been sharing and thank you for being so open on this forum.  I know it's a little dated, but just wanted to say how heartfelt (no homo) I am about this unfortunate situation.  FWIW:  As others have stated, I would agree and suggest that you take some time for yourself to really ponder on what direction you want to take your life; allow you some time to think clear headed and make the best decision for you.  Glad to hear that you're going back to school.  Always a good choice

thanks guys, no I'm not jumping into another relationship, need to get my life straight first. and michael, only reason i'm open on this forum is because its the usual people on that i write to just about everyday, and it feels like a tight knit group, even though i've met i think only 3 people on here... I haven't written about this on any other forum.

the only thing that sucks about all this is that I'm not going to see Jayden again (her son)... I love him as if he was my son, and he calls me his "papi." Is it wrong to still want to be involved in his life?

Honestly Chris, I don't think there will be anything wrong with still being there for him. Imagine what the little kid is thinking or will feel with you not around? I'm just saying that yeah, your ego must be telling you fuck all that shit but, just be there for the kid, not her.

I'm nervous about her though, by keeping her son in your life, she will always there on some level. It doesn't sound from the things that she's said, that she will let you have a peaceful and productive relationship with him, I could be wrong...

At least give it some time/space so she can cool down a bit before you even attempt to see her, otherwise I'm pretty sure things will escalate. As for the kid, how much it will bother him is going to depend on his age and how well his mother is able to transition him into the next phase of her life. I really hope, for his sake, that she's not completely insane and was just having a lapse in judgement so that this child will not be affected by something like this... it's always so sad when children are involved in these types of things. IMO adults can adjust and cope... it's much harder for a child if he/she has no guidance.
