+1 I had a rental until this am when I got my car back from the transmission guy. They were horriable to deal with, and the car was a piece of shit. Thank god I have my 7th gen back and healthy. Stinks like burning fluids though can't wait until that is gonne.

I know what you mean about rental companies when i wrecked my mustang they gave us a chevy hhr which is a piece of shit there were love stains all in that thing and they would not give us a cleaner vehicle... somehow we went thru 4 of those things in 2 weeks 3 of them the tranny tore up on is and the other overheated

I hated using a rental car when my car was in the body shop for a month back in 2006.  I beat the living shit out of every rental car I drive because of the shit those companies pull.

sooooo today i found out my computer wasn't built for the amount of work i put on it.


last night i started doing something and somehow it bogged down (main HD is a 300gb RAID set-up and a AMD 64-bit processor for starters), didn't think nothing of it because i was running damn near 15-20programs. so night goes on i'm getting ready to hit the sack and started a DL. wasn't done by the time i was ready to sleep so i just left it on for the time being (auto-shutdown when DL's complete).

fast forward to this morning: i wake up get dressed and everything. go by my comp. to grab my wallet and keys and noticed my external HD was still on. still didn't think anything of it since it stays on sometimes for weird reasons; i turn it off and go on to tackle the day.

later on after class i come home to start on my homework and to my surprise my computer turns on and takes a LOOOOONG time to start up (usually under 30seconds). then when it does start up and i get going i start getting a plethora of warning indicators for overheating. next thing i know my box is filled with smoke. took it apart and found out that my power supply sent a surge to the CPU's cooling fan that resulted in the fan MELTING onto the heat sink and let the processor overheat.

i ran to fry's and got it warrantied (JUST rebuilt my computer from the ground up (minus the case) a few months ago) but they didn't have any better ones in stock so i still have the store credit.



finally have a new project to work on... ultimate desktop (well ultimate enough to withstand hella multitasking)
