Yeah, well it's no so much what to get, but more so how to do it. You don't just buy a supercharger with an instruction manual, lol. Is it possible to major in computer engineering and minor in mechanical engineering? Or would that be way too intense?
But yeah, you're right Jeremy. The thing is though, there's no fun in just buying a new car. Sure you get to get something faster or whatever, but that can get old. I should totally get a TSX 6MT first. I could be a sleeper gramps car, haha.

I didn't really mean get a new car perse, get something older/cheaper you can fix up (see my beater thread). I'm still looking at getting an older bug, you can mod those to your hearts content and find them for around a grand. Just hunt around ebay/cl and you'll find something. Hell even a miata would be fun, throw a sc on that! That's abt as close to an s2k are your going to get....did i just compare a miata to an s2k?.....time to take meds again.

As far as I know, you can't minor an Engineering major. I know my school wouldn't let me do it anyway.
You can always double major two Engineering majors, but say goodbye to sleep and any social life. Engineering is tough as it is, and requires a lot of time commitment. Doubling that load, especially with two majors that don't have that much in common is going to be ridiculous. Unless you are willing to space out the amount of time you are in school.
I had a professor that had a EE/ME double major and he did it in 4 years. I've heard of people doing it, but its crazy intense.
Going through EE was intense enough as it was. I did think about double majoring ME though..
My best advice is to think what you want to do in terms of a career. What can you see yourself doing for the rest of your life? Don't base it on hobbies. You'll always have hobbies.
Base your decision on what you feel most passionate about and not on current interests. If engines and fluid dynamics are what you're most passionate about, then look into ME. If computers are, look into CpE.
Let me know if you have any questions..

You'd be surprised how much fun you could have in a miata. or at least, that's what i'm told.. definitely cheaper than an s2k, and definitely cheaper to mod..

Completely agree. Most schools don't do minors in engineering. Double majoring in engineering would be insane, but if you're up for it why not. I'm currently an EE major myself, and I can say that if you double your course work it'd be a pain in the ass.

What year are you in?
I graduated as a EE, so I know how tough the curriculum is. It's claimed that EE is the toughest discipline of engineering. On top of that, I minored in Physics, and I was attempting a minor in Math. I was one class away from a Math minor, but it came down to the Physics class I wanted and the Math class I wanted were scheduled for the same time and days. I had to pick one, and since I decided to minor in Physics because I wanted to take Optics, I chose Physics.
So I agree with you. If you're up for the coursework of double majoring engineering, then go for it. Just think hard about the benefit behind it.
Stuff to think about as well: Unless you're absolutely crazy and work two jobs, you'll have one job. And chances are, it's either going to be in computers or mechanical work. Is it worth the extra money and time and stress to double major? If you're looking for a mix of electrical and mechanical, some schools offer an Electromechanical Engineering degree.
Having the double major will make you more marketable for your first job. After that, experience is really what they look at.
Another option is to get your BS in one field, and then get a Masters in the other. Take whatever prereqs you need to for getting into the Masters program. It'll be intense still, but depending on the school, it may or may not be less classes during undergrad.

Thanks for the tips. It's hard to say what I'm really passionate about, because once I started modding my car, I found that I would spend less time with computers and more time messing with my car. But the thing is, I know a shit load more about computers than cars. I've already been put in the CE department at UCF, so we'll see how that goes. I think in the long-run, I'll be better off dealing with computers.

Both of those majors are great choices but, alot of work. I have my BS in EE but, I actually want to go back to school for either CE or ME to advance my career and open opportunities in a different direction. I think my best bet is to start taking a class or to and at the local Community College to get back in the swing of things. It's been a loooooooooooooong time since I've taken a class.

Yeah, fuck earth day! I know I'm not a tree hugging hippie fuck. I throw cigarette butts out the window and start fires when I'm in my car. One day of cleaning up isn't going to make a bit of difference when this planet is already fucked. get rid of the people and it'll be just fine.

I prefer asshole, thank you very much. Besides, all materials in cigarette butts are biodegradable and fire is nature's way of bringing in new life. I'm just contributing to the cause of new life.
