I'm in the market for a cheap new lap top any suggestions?

My school blocked ESPN360 right before the SEC tournament. Luckily it is spring break so I can just watch the tourney on tv. Mike, I would just save up and get a mac. It is well worth it in my opinion. I got my first mac in January and dont ever plan on getting anything else. Just for reference, my pc has twice the memory, the same processor speed, and the same hd, yet the mac is way faster. The battery also lasts 7 hours which is convenient. I have used my pc twice since getting my mac. Once to get music off of it, then another time because I needed to use teamviewer. I think you can get the 13" macbook for $899, which sounds small but is perfect in my opinion. Oh, and there really isnt a transition from PC to mac. There are some commands that a PC doesn't offer that take a couple of days to remember, but after that there is nothing.

I still say fuck macs. The only Apple product I have and will ever own is my phone. I'm anti Apple in every other sense. I don't see the point of paying so much for something that you can't really upgrade.

I just think it is a far superior product as far as construction, materials, design, OS, everything. I used to have network problems out the ass, I haven't had a single problem. My Dad used to serve as the IT when he owned his company and he set everything up. So, the only blame I see is the hardware. I really dont know what you would want to upgrade on a mac. Everything is pretty much top of the line. Everything they come with standard seems to be an option on a PC.I had been wanting to try a mac for a long time, because all my friends are pro mac, I got a free one, and I love it. Everything is just much simpler and problem free.

The SEC tourney was on 360, but the filter also blocks tunnels. So, I assume that is a no go. They recently blocked ECM. So, I just tether my mac to my phone and that takes care of it.

I'm with Z on the anti-mac thing lol. Being able to overclock my computer is a huge advantage over Macs. I have a Core 2 Duo with stock speed of 2.0ghz, and I overclocked it to 3.25ghz.

I don't know if I'm anti Mac but, i'm such a casual user that it's not worth the investment. Hence why I asked for cheap suggestions.

No need to save funding isn't an issue I just wouldn't spend the money on a MAC. If I got a crack head deal on one I may try it but, other than that I have no interest.

It'll probably be hard to find a crackhead price on one. This is probably going to be the best price for one with a warranty. I got lucky and my mac cost me $50, granted I have to turn it in at the end of the year, I still got to test it out and use it for very cheap.

Mike, do you need a desktop or a laptop? I can custom build desktops. However it'd still probably better cheaper to go with a manufacturer.
