Nah. I smoked one last year. I haven't really gotten the smoked turkey down yet. I would cook it low and slow, but in the end the skin doesn't get crisp and is all rubbery. I think I am going to use the same method I use for wings and crank up the heat on the smoker at the last 10-15 minutes.

It's pretty nice to have one. I really want to sell mine and get a bigger one. I was also thinking of getting a smaller "travel" smoker.

It sort of depends on what type of smoker you use. You have to watch your temps and be very patient. Or you can buy regulated smokers that will keep the temp for you.

My ex used to smoke racks of ribs out back of our studio apartment. Took him all day, but omg they were so good!

It's not crazy hard to do. It also depends on what you're smoking. Pork is very forgiving, but beef (brisket) isn't as easy. Mikey brings up a very good point too. My buddy does competition BBQ and his smokers require a lot of attention and are fairly expensive ($100 just to fire up one smoker, not including the meat). The smoker I have is pretty fool proof and doesn't drain your wallet to use. I have a Traeger pellet smoker. It has a regulator to control the temperature that you set it to. It uses wood pellets, so you don't have to fire up a bunch of charcoal, then hardwood. It's fairly efficient and gets hot enough to use as a grill too. Text me if you want more info.

I'm pretty annoyed at this Subaru shop here in NH. I had such a great experience the first time I wanted to go to them for everything. Do you guys think I'm a pain in the ass? Or a difficult customer? They have stopped responding to messages, I had to threaten to go somewhere else for them to respond. This is the second week I am trying to secure an appointment. Why is basic communication and customer service a foreign concept!?

I mean, I know it's not super awesome performance mods, I get it. But if you don't want to do routine maintenance then don't post it on your website! I finally called and set up an appointment to fix my endlinks. Should have happened last Tuesday. Grrrr
