If I got my LX side skirts painted body color would it look bad? Is there any difference in the material? I want to get it done.

I would bet they are a lot better... I did not get to put the OEM’s vs the Wilwood’s on a scale but the in hand weight of the OEM’s vs Wilwood’s was Wilwood’s all the way.  I can’t speak for the GS’s but let’s recognize. They are that much lighter… the weight differences comes into play with the disk and not the calipers.

What do you mean the weight difference comes into play with the disk and not the caliper? All of that is unsprung weight and makes a HUGE difference if your tracking the car. Well, it plays a part in daily driving as well with regards to stopping distances. When it comes to weight, like they've always said, every little bit counts.

The disk is rotating mass, and the caliper is not.

True, but it's still unsprung.

Correct but, a reduction in rotating mass has more of an effect. This of getting lighter wheels only on a smaller scale.

Also true. Somehow Newton's law comes into play here, I just don't remember how. Been too long.

http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr161/lect ... 3laws.html

Newton's First Law of Motion:

I. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.

Newton's Second Law of Motion:

II. The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma. Acceleration and force are vectors (as indicated by their symbols being displayed in slant bold font); in this law the direction of the force vector is the same as the direction of the acceleration vector.

Newton's Third Law of Motion:

III. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

It's pretty simple any increase in mass = a decrease in potential acceleration.
