Took my car back to Tires Plus to have them re-do the wheel balancing. No more shuddering now. Cheesy

How was your alignment? Still in spec?

Well, I'm not sure on that one actually, because my mom actually took my car while I was at school. My mom said they checked everything, so I'm assuming it's fine. What exactly would you look for to find out of spec alignment besides abnormal tread wear? Any tire vibrations, etc.? Because after whatever they did, the tires run really smooth now.

Edit: asked my mom about it again, and she said they said that the shuddering problem had nothing to do with alignment, it was wheel balancing. Also, my car has been going pretty straight if I go down the road with my hands off the steering wheel. I don't know if that means anything as far as aligning goes.

I usually find a nice flat straight road and let go of the wheel for starters. The slightest pull is sending me to the alignment shop. Tire wear would be one, but that takes too long. If you have the lifetime alignment form Firestone, they'll check it and adjust it for free. Also, from my experience, when mom tells you they checked everything, they really didn't. Its your car and you should know what's going on with it.

Haha, yeah, never trust anyone with your car.

Next time I find a flat road, I'll test it. I've never really had a problem with pulling, even when my Michelins were about shot. But you never know. Thanks for the tip.

i cried and yelled fuck my life (not really.) on my way home i heard a clunking noise like a rock shot up into the passenger front wheel well. i thought it was my lug nut or something so i checked. everything looked fine. but when i started driving and pushing the brakes, i heard a grinding type sound like something was rubbing. drive some more and my brakes are feeling like im drivin in the snow. nervous about braking in town with all these hill and stop lights, i shift down to slow myself down. i get home and look again.. the top bolt that holds the front caliper is what that clunking noise.. and the grinding was from the brakes not being properly set or whatever. look at more damage and the inside of my rims got scratched up.. not too bad tho i hope. so ill have to fix that in the morning.
