who was the lucky one to get those wilwoods piero?

I was because Kevin gave me his old front calipers so I could run those wheel on my car.   For now I just going to store them away since they did cost a nice chunk of change.

I don't know if those calipers are going to fit because he has a V6 and you have an i4.  The rotor size and offset is different between the two IIRC.

So if that's the case, then he can buy V6 rotors to make it work right?

Could that be done?

It's worth a try.  The i4 and V6 knuckles are the same.  I'd definitely get V6 rotors though.

I was actually waiting for your word bro. I need to know how many pieces. Actually, once I finish my finals, I'll setup a group buy thread to see who else might be interested and hopefully get a better price.

Yeah Billy's right its a Yamaha R6.

I'm just curious Kev, any reason why you went with the R6 instead of maybe a Honda CBR1000RR or 600RR or Suzuki GSXR1000 or R750/R600?

Size of the disks are the same, as are the size of the EX/EX-V6 factory wheels, I think these should work.  Only way to find out would be trying to put them on!!

I hate the CBRs to be honest (don't like there feel, sorta of heavy and chunky for a bike IMHO), a GSX-R1000 is WAY to much bike for me, same a CBR1000RR.  I'm not framiliar with Suzukis as much as I am with the Yamaha's, Plus I have two friends with Yamaha's, one is an R6 thats a year newer than the one I picked up, so if I have an issues/questions it will make things a heck of a lot easier.  Plus the 1000+ CC bikes would have been 2 grand more

Yeah, I guess that is what I would have to do.  A quick test fit to see.

I just don’t want to have to go out and but a second set of rotors.

I was going to order them from eBay but in this case I better play it safe and get parts from Auto Zone just so that I could return what ever dose not fit.

I will start with the V6 rotors to see if all clears with out any issues.

However, here is my question; is the mounting points for the calipers different on the i4 and V6 EX?

Anyways, I am heading back the break thread to continue my research.

Fortunate, I still have plan A to fall back on and that would be taking Tim up on his gracious offer.

This is why I always say that we are beyond a forum, we have become family.  “With the good & the Bad”

Since the caliper bracket mounts to the knuckle, and the knuckles are the same (hence my earlier knuckle comment), the mounting points should be identical.  At this point, to play it safe, make sure that you are using all V6 hardware (i.e. - calipers, caliper brackets, pads, and rotors) to ensure a proper fit.  In theory, you shouldn't have any issues at all.  If you do, there's always Plan B.

Maybe we think the V6 rotors wouldn't fit cuz the Legend calipers wouldnt, so maybe you might get lucky Piero. Try test fitting with the 4cyl rotors. That's the only way you'll know for sure.
