Well its not turbo'd... yet bwahahahaha... Its a ka24de for 300 bucks or for 500 I can have the whole car and take what I need then just scrap the thing and make some of my money back. I think I am just gonna talk him into throwing in the auto trans and harness and ecu for 300 and letting him scrap the car so I dont have to take a trailer all the way down to statesboro GA and tow a car all the way back its like a 6 hour drive one way. So, today has been the day from HELL! First of all, dad woke me up to make me go outside in the bitter cold to look at his truck to find out that it has the same problem jeremy's car did with a bead in the tire separating and the camber being completely out of whack. Then, I went inside and started to get warm when dad tells me we are going to eat before work... after I showered and got ready and everything, I went outside and went to start my truck and all it would do is turn over and did not sound like it was firing and it was smoking(white smoke) under the hood. It sounded like it detonated but I am not sure since I am still new to the world of diesel and compression combustion ignition vehicles. I hoooked my programmer up to it and it said there were no DTC's. That was really odd to me. once it did that, I went ahead and set the computer back to stock sinceI am returning the hypertech tuner tomorrow. Once it was all back to stock, it fired up after about 25 seconds if it cranking. It usually takes a few seconds for it to start but all diesels I have been around are that way. Well once I get to work and go out to start writing my parking tickets for the day, my mother calls to tell me that the bank I got my loan thru sent me something in the mail saying that they want the title to my truck within the next 3 days. I immediately clicked my radio over to our information chalnnel and ran my tag and I called the dispatcher who is a friend of mine and told her what was up since she asked over the radio why i was running my own tag. and sure enough. it still comes back to the honda. That means they did not do what they were supposed to do 2 weeks ago when I called them about the same exact thing. I called the bank and they called the dealer as well as my dad called the dealer and they just now filed for registration TODAY!! I bought the truck in november. and according to Tennessee state LAW they only have 30 days to get the titlke the the lein holder of purchaser and 30 days to register the vehicle. not to mention it took them more than 30 days to pay off the honda since they were sending me notices of past due payments. I just found out that the "general manager" of the dealership went down tto the tag and title office to register my truck, and there was a box on the application that they forgot to check and they were "3 dollars short" and they assured me that it would be done tomorrow. Ill be sure to hold my breath on that one. Now that all that is taken care of and I have written 18 tickets I had to go search for a truck that I only got a partial tag number off of that I worked a wreck on because the owner left it in a ditch when he wrecked and 2 other people wrecked into it. and the search for that was unsuccessful. A tid bit of information: I'm not sure why you had white smoke from under the hood. Was there a funny smell?


    * Black smoke is a sign of engine overload, a restricted air supply, or a malfunctioning injector. For some reason, excess unburned fuel is being blown out of the exhaust.

    * Blue smoke forms when the engine’s own lubricating oil is being burned. This can indicate worn piston rings, valve guides, or seals. The oil can also come from an air filter overfilled with oil or an excess of oil in the crankcase.

    * White smoke is a sign of water vapor or fuel that has been atomized but not burned. The water vapor may be present in the fuel or water may be leaking into the cylinder from the cooling system. Air in the fuel can also cause white smoke.

Don’t confuse white smoke with the steam of warm engine-cooling water on a cold day, which is normal. The steam is thin and wispy, and reevaporates quickly. White smoke is slightly denser and oilier, and takes longer to disperse

Good info for a gasser Jdub... White smoke in a diesel means fully unburned fuel and black smoke which is often a normality for a diesel is partially burned fuel in the exhaust.  There was nothing warm about the truck other than the glow-plugs since when you turn the key to the run position while the "wait to start" light is on it is warming the glow-plugs to a point where it will ignite the fuel when it is compressed with air. Hence the term compression ignition. there is no spark. And that is going to be negative on the funny smell ghost rider. it just smelled like fuel...
