haha they will be here thursday and depending on if caleb goes to get another pontiac saturday i may have them in on saturday i cant wait.... and harold, caleb mentioned something about how you were wantin to roll your fenders to tuck your tires.... well how about you lower the car and have enough negative camber to tuck them

alright for 500 you might could get a good set up of skunk2 springs and some decent shocks or... for 100 more and free shipping you could get matts setup which is what i originally wanted but i was on a budget as well thats why when i get my bike sold i plan on buying either koni or kyb shocks to make up for my cheapness and not buying the supercup kit(matts setup). Now, the downside to negative camber is that it eats thru tires just the insides tho. a friend of mine told me there is one way around it that he knows of(he had a slemmed karman ghia) make friends with a guy that works at a tire shop and get him to switch the tires around every so often which some what doubles the inside tread life... he was retarded but it could possibly work if not call trey edward and bitch at him. the other day i stumbled upon a a website that showed how much negative camber you would get from x amount of drop... i cant find it right now but i am trying to find it and when i do i will deff post it. if i remember correctly matt is the camber tuning wizard he may be able to tell you more than i

ok. now im really interested in doing that real soon, so what you are saying is that should i purchase some springs and they lower my car a good bit that the negative camber should be good enough to tuck thus erasing the idea of rolling my fenders? how do we do this what are your suggestions...everyone and im planning on ordering my springs soon so let me know fairly quickly as to some good options. i will have a budget of about 500 and if i wait till about April about 1100 anyone know how to put them on or how to walk me through the installation. On the other subj of el presidente, i had made mention on g7a that he couldve been Leader but he was unsure of the idea bc of his age. We thus decided that we would handle things democratic(lly) and run this as a group. Thats where the numbers came in. How many did we have, Matt in the first group that established SECM? i think i was something like #8 or something
You'll still need to pull your fenders as much as your rears are sticking out. Then with so much excess camber you're running into 3 problems
1.
strut clearence.
get the ebay coilover kit as that's the only thing that'll allow you to go low enough on your budget and the springs have a smaller diameter ontop of being shorter. get a set of stock shocks and shorten the shaft. if not then bulk up on stock rear shocks.
2.
tire wear.
and I know that 265's aren't cheap. at all. you might have to go down to a 255 and bulk up on as many cheap ones as you can find.
last but not least which will determine if it's even possible:
3. finding a camber kit with
enough negative adjustment
you'll have to pull a ton of camber in the rear AND slam it as well [the lower the car the more negative static camber you gain from the original suspension geometry design]
your tire WILL have to be tucked and your lip will be about a half an inch away from your rear fender. The only way to do it without getting a different set of wheels. I hope you don't commute a lot.
car will look amazing, but it's all show. and a lot of work. Now is the time to ask yourself if you're commited to this.
I didn't establish the SECM btw, Seth started the regional post. I accidentally stumbled upon it and organized the first meet since nobody seemed to have enough interest in doing so,
As for your member number. I can ask Tim to send me a copy if you guys care enough. If not then we'll roll with whatever's up.
btw
I NEED A GOOD PICTURE OF EVERYBODYS CAR
send me your favorite shot of whatever part of your car or your car as a whole. Yes Michael I'll wait til your springs are in
