I went through 3 Voyagers myself. Back OT though. Those extended warranties are okay if the manufacturer has a shitty warranty or shitty service. I would never buy one of those extended warranties from a Worst Buy for anything that my company sells because I've heard some of the horror stories about places like that jerking customers around. I have a thing against Worst Buy because I've always gotten horrible service and terrible advice from the high school rejects that work there as sales people. Flat out, those guys don't know jack shit.

Honestly it's not worth buying extended through the retailer. A good company will stand behind there products(may need to call and beat them up).

to each his own... my 4yr extended warranty costed me $200 and was worth over $2000 in the long run....
i guess i thought of it as.... would i rather spend more now.... or run the risk of being raped later?
$229 is a small price to pay to make sure i will have a perfectly operating BEAUTIFUL tv for the next 4 years, no questions asked....
for phones....they shit out way too often and they take a mass amount of abuse compared to some other higher end electronics
just put it up on the wall last night.... so pumped for NFL season
goin to the Jets/Eagles game tonight...free tix FTMFW !

I have 2 questions. What was the manufacturer's warranty? What would they have done under these same circumstances?
I remember that I bought a 2 year extended warranty from Home Depot for my Dremel. When my Dremel died, I went back to Home Depot and had them tell me that they couldn't do anything for me since it was still under the Dremel warranty (which was 5 years). So I asked them, "Why did you sell me this warranty? It doesn't even seem like I can use it." They basically said that they wouldn't do anything to help me since their warranty expired before the Dremel warranty. Those fuckers!!

Manufactores warranty on any home theator ex HTIB, TVS, DVD is always 1 year if you read the fine print on that label it says 90 days parts and labor and for the rest of the year just parts, but its limited meaning they would only cover manufacture defects.

I don't think I've ever paid for an extended warranty... to be honest, I've never had the need. The only warranty that I would keep is for my phone, since it's a complete pile of shit. As far as my TV goes, I'm crossing my fingers, lol. It's been running completely fine though. Oh, another thing I got an extended warranty on (well, it was free) was for my Xbox 360. I'm on my fourth replacement so far, and now my warranty is out (3 years for the red rings of death).
I never worry about warranties for computers, either. I build my own, so if the certain part doesn't work when I just put it in, I just RMA it for a replacement, lol. Some computer parts manufacturers have some pretty good warranties, though. I didn't realize it, but I had some RAM that died, but the company has a lifetime warranty, so I got a free replacement, even though the RAM was like 4 years old lol.
