Did you reuse the oem knob? or did you go with an aftermarket knob?

re used the oem knob... not sure what the problem was before.... im thinking it had to be with trimming the plastic on the front of the boot
i tried it literally 20 times and ran into a ton of issues.... trimmed that piece and my next try was successful

saw a few sweet aftermarket knobs out there.... just make sure if you get one it matches with the diameter of the stick you have.

I took the little white piece off that was at the top of the boot... this piece made no sense when trying to hook everything back up
so for now i just tucked the top of the boot down into itself and it looks fine.... will never come undone unless someone really messes with it

nice... how did you get the top of the boot to secure to the shift knob?
mine isnt securely attached it just sorta sits in there... and it looks like i have alot more slack on mine compared to yours
it looks fine for now... maybe i'll mess with it a little more once its warmer

Heres what i did. Maybe it will help you get that cleaner look.

1. Removed the knob
2. I pulled up the trim piece
3. turned the boot inside out and removed the white trim piece from the boot.
4. Squeezed the boot "neck" in-between the two pieces of the knob. Also used zipties. but not necessary
5. re-installed the knob with the boot inside out and the trim piece in the air lol.
6. (only if you have heated seats) Reconnected the switches
7. since the knob is back on and the boot is inside out. It should look like a funnel. So just bring the trim down and secure.

They may not line up with the mounting points but you should be able to get what you have to work.

Drill New Holes To Mount Em Eh?

If that works yeah but what you really need to do is secure the boot so when you shift to park or D1 the material won’t come out the shifter frame.
