What you will need:
10mm ratcheting wrench
8mm ratcheting wrench
Large flat head screwdriver
Small flat head screwdriver OR trim panel tool
Mirror covers

Honda's E-Store provides the mirror covers for about $40 for the set.  They even come prepainted in your choice of colors, a huge plus.

First thing you are going to want to do is figure out if you are just replacing the cover or if you want to take the whole mirror off.  If you are wanting to just replace the cover, you can skip ahead to Part B where we will replace the cover.  Part A will consist of removing the mirror housing from the car and the mirror itself from the housing.

PART A

Alright, so you decided you want to take the entire mirror housing off, good for you.  So lets get down to business.

Step 1:
Open your door and locate the trim piece that is covering the inside of the mirror.  Use your small screwdriver and work your way around the trim panel pulling firmly until it pops loose.

Step 2:
With the trim panel off, disconnect the wire to the housing.  This connector it what gives the motor power to adjust the mirrors with your power mirror switch.

Step 3:
Now that you have that disconnected, unbolt all the nuts that are attaching the mirror to the body.

Step 4:
With everything unbolted and unplugged, you can remove the mirror with out any problems, right?  Wrong.  You need to push in the two white tabs on the connector in order for the mirror to slide out.  You can also just push one of them in and wiggle the mirror out.

PART B
The following steps can be done with either the housing on or off the car.

Step 5:
Push on the top side of the mirror until it won't go any further up.  There will now be a gap on the bottom side of the mirror.  Slide a couple of fingers in there (That's what she said) and pull up firmly.  It will feel like you are going to break it, but you won't.  This releases the bottom and sides of the mirror from the motor axle thing.

Step 6:
Fold the mirror up so it is perpendicular with the axle.  Pull it outwards and it will slide right off the holders.

Step 7:
Now for the hardest part of the whole DIY, removing the actual cover.  There are multiple tabs holding this into place.  Take your large screwdriver and break the tab on the side closest to the car.  Yes, it will break the tab when you try to loosen it, don't worry, you have new covers to replace it...right?  Once that one is broken loose, do the same to the other side, it won't break though.

Okay, now that those are out of the way, the tricky part.  There are two tabs on the top side of the cover.  They have a bend in them.  The one closest to the car will come out without a problem.  The other one requires you to push down and out with your large screwdriver until it is from from the tab holding it in place.

When all those tabs have been freed, you can rotate the cover forward.  It will bend to a certain extent and the pop one of the lower tabs out.  Then you just pull it out.

There you go.  You have taken the cover off successfully and hopefully haven't lost too much blood or body parts in the process.

Now, to put it back together.

Step 8:
Place the bottom tabs into their holders on the bottom of the mirror housing.  The one furthest outside will be a bit difficult to get in, so push on the cover some while rotating it to get it into place.  Once those tabs are in, push the cover into place until all tabs SNAP! back into their proper positions

Step 9:
Replace the mirror by attaching it perpendicularly to the housing then rotating downwards.  Once it is rotated, you will need to push firmly until you hear/feel it pop back into place fully.  Don't confuse this with the popping when the mirror axle adjusts.

Step 10:
You may now proceed to replace the mirror housing onto the car.  Make sure it is firmly in place and the weather seal tight.  Then reattach the nuts, making sure to tighten them down, and the power connector.

Step 11:
Snap the trim panel back into place.  It is easier if you put the lower tab in first then snap the upper one into place.

There you go.  You have replace the mirror housing to the car and everything is nice and set.  Just make sure you go back and adjust your mirror positioning.

ALTERNATE METHOD:
The mirror housing does not have to be removed from the car to complete this.  Start with removing the mirror at Step 5.

DO NOT DO:
Break the handle on your snap-on screwdriver.  All I was doing was twisting and it snaps in half.  Maybe it shouldn't be called Snap-On, but Snap-Apart.  Haha, I'm so funny I kill myself.
