Always wondered about P90x. My friend does it and said it really works, he said he's gotten a lot stronger and bigger. Let us know your results from it

P90X is the bomb kid... I love it.. worked out my whole life at the gym & was in decent shape.. but now on the P90X; I'm actually stronger and more defined...

I might have to try it out sometime. I just go to the gym 4-6 days a week to work out. Getting pretty good results right now, gaining a lot more mass and strength.

Mark is correct! While running you are only burning calories for the time that you are running but when lifting you burn calories during the gym time and for hours after.

Correct. Lean muscle takes a lot of energy to maintain.  Your muscles are burning calories 24/7.

I have several friends who are bodybuilders or are in the nutrition industry. None of them do cardio...abs are made in the kitchen.

Just thought I'd bump this after awhile. I haven't been following the above routine yet (still working out my schedule), but I've been going to the gym on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The benches are always congested, so I've had to use the machines because I didn't feel like waiting in line, lol. I started out with a max of 145lbs on the machine chest press, and this is about the fourth week, and I'm now at 175lbs. It's not a lot at all... still under body weight, but at least I'm making improvement. I know a friend who needed a spotter to bench the bar when he first started, lol.

That looks like a pretty sweet routine. I just started a new routine myself that includes super sets, pre exhaustion and pyramid sets. It kicks my ass and is the best workout I have gotten in a long time! Looking forward to your impressions on your new routine.

I just signed up for the August 27th Spartan Race, http://www.spartanrace.com/,  in Mass. figured it would be a good reason to make sure im in the gym and running more.

Also, gunna start playing rugby again in the spring for a mens team here in Boston. If there is anyone in MA/NH/RI/CT area that would want to play let me know. Its an awesome way to get/stay in shape as well as a great stress releaser!

I started running consistently again late November and ended up getting shin splints. I don't really know what to do about them and haven't gotten anything as severe as these before. So, I'm still not running. I had my shoes fitted for me so I don't think that is the problem. Might just be the running surface.

I guess he has money to burn.  I'd rather waste my money on parts that actually make my car faster, hookers, and drugs.  Fucking amateurs.   :Smiley

There's a 24/7 gym less than .5 mile from my house. I'm thinking of joining and just go workout whenever I want and run on the weekends at the park, take my boy and let him ride his bike and I can run behind him. I can bring the wifey too, she can run too. She's already working out. Putting me to shame I tell you!
