Damn Paul. The 2nd reference about me having an i4. Are you sad that Derrick is not doing the J swap any more? Mark, I have no idea when it's going to be finished. As of now, my time and energy is being focused on the motor. The body work and paint is going to have to be done in between or after.

No, I had the Comptech CF IM cover for a little bit. I took it off since it gets in the way of me being able to use a fuel pressure gauge on my fuel rail. Function over fashion. Who needs an intake cover anyway?

I dyno tuned it at ESP in Sterling, MA. They have a Mustang dyno, so the numbers read lower than a DynoJet. I'm thinking about going to New England Dyno in Douglas, MA for the new motor just so I can get consistent results. As far as going to the track, we'll have to wait until next summer and if I can tear out my interior.

Mustang is generally 13-15% lower than Dynojet as far as nombers, but even then there are alot of factors, stck with where you have been going and just see the gains in the mods as the go.
And as far as the J swap, lol, I am just rsponding to your need for power, 300+ NA WHP and 280+ NA WTQ and 40+MPG on the highway........

The shop owner was explaining that it reads that his Mustang dyno gives numbers about 20% lower when compared to a DynoJet. After Cham dyno'd his car, he was also saying that it was the first time they ever had a Honda dyno over 300 whp. After his first dyno pull, everyone got really interested in Cham and wanted to be his friend. I guess I'll be going back to the same shop then. I've already built up a relationship with this shop, so I think it would be best to return to them. I wonder how much of a gain I'll be getting from the K24A2 motor swap, with the smaller exhaust cam, and the M62.
I appreciate the input on the J swap, but it's not exactly practical for me at this point. Considering that a K24A4 to K24A2 swap will be pretty damn close to plug and play since I'm already running KPro, it's a no brainer. What would be the ballpark price to swap in a J series that's capable of 300+ hp with a 6MT and LSD, parts and labor included? I'm guessing it's a lot more than what I'm paying for a minty K24A2 and LSD since I already have a 6MT, a M62, and pretty much all the parts that you would be replacing for a K to J swap. The other major factor in this entire equation is the lack of KPro (or any EMS equal to) on a J series. I can make the same power, with a lighter motor, and more aftermarket parts availability, while keeping the best EMS for a Honda to control everything.

Everything looks good! I cant wait until the bodywork is done. What kind of numbers are you making now and what do you hope to make when your finished with everything? Also, what causes the smoke coming from the back during the dyno video?

I guess he has money to burn. I'd rather waste my money on parts that actually make my car faster, hookers, and drugs. Fucking amateurs. :

LOL, ok, but how about almost 400WHP with the same 6psi you are putting into the K, anyway, yeah with all the work you have done it probably would not be cost effective since the swap would probably end up between $8K-$9K, of course that is not counting what you could sell your K stuff for. As far as EMS, sigh, yes I wish there was anything close to KPro avalible, but the AEM FIC is getting it done for now.
