does your car run better in the rain?

does anyone car run better is the rain or when it is humid, because my car runs so much better in the rain, i get better throdle response, it picks up faster. i dont know why it does it.

good point. but even when it is humid it runs like that. it not a bad thing just wondering if anyone elses car does this

i notice better throttle response in the rain sometimes but i never seem to get anywhere, the tires just spin

While the air more dense when it's cooler, which is good for performance, I'm not quite sure how much the humidity affects the density of the air. I'm sure one of our smarty pants members can expand on this, but I'm sure that increased humity would diminish performance. How much? I don't know.

The addition of water vapor to air (making the air humid) reduces the density of the air:
This occurs because the molecular mass of water (18) is less than the molecular mass of air (around 29). For any gas, at a given temperature and pressure, the number of molecules present is constant for a particular volume. So when water molecules (vapor) are introduced to the air, the number of air molecules must reduce by the same number in a given volume, without the pressure or temperature increasing. Hence the mass per unit volume of the gas (its density) decreases.
