Well, I finally got tired of the ugly plastic orange dipstick killing the appearence of my powder coated engines so this is what I came up with out of 6061T5 Aluminum.

I am anylizing the time and materials to make them, one of the big pieces is a stock dipstick to get the cable from, the cost me like $20 new, apart from that I am thinking like $60 shipped and deciding weater to charge a $20 core charge for return of the stock dipstick and/or $80 without sending back your old dipstick.

can you fab one up quick on saturday? I'm definitely up for getting this, you can use my stock dipstick if you'd like.. i tried painting mine awhile back and it turned out terrible, so yeaa.. new dipstick would be sick.

One word of warning, these will get hot with the engine, so care when pulling with the engine hot should be taken......

why not just make those nobs and ship them like that?
maybe im thinking wrong but in this pic looks like dipstick wire is held by hex kinda screw
