I'm glad you're OK! It is a serious pain, this repair business, but once it is behind you, you'll have the experience under your belt and some nice fogs to boot
Good luck

welllllll.... randomly got a message last night from a kid living in my town with the exact bumper i need... worked out fu*king awesome....
saw it... wasnt too impressed, was dirty as shit and looked mangled
at first i thought i was in for a serious sanding, priming, and painting job...probably would have to just pay the $200 for an all out paint job
after cleaning it up and buffing, ALOT of what i thought were paint chips and nics were actually just dirt grime and oil
so it came out lookin pretty damn nice
- left side of bumper has 2 small scratches.... might sand prime and paint that....
- dead center has 2 small screw holes from old license plate holder.... def gonna have to sand and possibly fill those... then paint over
- thhhheeeen theres the bottom right... ahah this looks like he ran over a cement curb like 14 times, down to the black plastic... GOUGES, bad bad scratches and fucked up paint... this will def have to be the focus of the whole bumper job
so i think i wanna try to touch these spots up myself...
i got everything to do it
80 180 and 380 grit sand paper
filler primer to fill any gaps and be paint ready
now i order color matching paint (spray paint can) from honda
and then i have spray on clear coat gloss
heres the kicker.... he asked for $90.... then explained that i would have to sand it and do a lot of work before it would look half way decent..... so he said $70.... offered him $50 and the next thing i know im putting it in my work van to take home....$50 bumper FTW !
supplied at pepboys + honda spray paint (deser mist) all for about $50-60 total
$110 fix for my recent turnpike high speed bicycle destruction fiasco
compared to the total cost of a bumper + paintjob.... im liking the $110 way and not the $400 way
what do ya think...?
tips/suggestions ?
