If you go Swimming in the lake, river, or ocean wear a life jacket

So today I had a near death experience. I was out for 4th of july with my family at Yuba Lake. Well I was swimming and then the water out of no where got dangerously fast. My little brother was about to go off the end of the rapids so I tried to get to him asap. But I came in too fast and then I lost my grip and went under. I did not have a life jacket. After going off 2 rapids I ended up on the side of the wall where I found a place to get up on the rock and waited there for 45 mins to be helped.


So Just to let you guys know I don't care how good a swimmer you are. If the water is fast enough You are soo screwed. Also I am considered a stronger swimmer. I swim 1/4 mile a day. Lucky for that because I was under water in the river for 20 sec at a time, but besides that I was pretty much helpless and was at the mercy of the water.

damn man that sucks. A good friend of mine, who was very athletic and a good swimmer, lost his life earlier this year...he too was attempting to save his little brother from the deep area of a lake

Day 4. The bruise has gotten larger and they are now like combine? Also I think i got nerve damage on my leg. I it lost some of its feeling when I poke it. Just feels soft and the surrounding area pressure receptor trigger but not the area in which I am poking it.

Wow, glad your ok. Noble deeds come at a price, glad it was not your life.  Did you also know you can drowned through your navel? so don't swim for too long either.
