^ Yea, since Hondata supports 'some' of the J community, hopefully there will be some more aftermarket support. Someone already wired the harness into a 6G Accord running a J35a8, so it's definitely doable. I believe he was able to make it work for the 04-06 ECU, which means it could potentially be available for the J30a4/5 and 04-06 TL, considering we can use their ECU.
Most of the 'swapped' cars are cable throttle though, leaving a bit more to be desired. AEM came out with an EMS, but apparently it's not all that.
Flashpro yielded 8whp/5wtq for a FBO Type S 6MT. However, it gained 20whp or so at VTEC. The results are posted on Acurazine (i_love_cars). He said the car drives much better (no more issues anywhere) and it feels much faster overall.
Tim, your car is in another league
And Shellz, we've been over this....you have an auto with less mods : Don't be foolish lol.
It's something that wil be released in early 2013. Trust me if I had some secret one-off tuning solution I would tell everyone. It's not my place to say anything. I heard it from someone else. Although I can't help to have some doubt, I've been told it is 100%. If so, there will be an influx of tuned J series in the market come mid-late 2013
I'm not at liberty to say But I will be getting tuned at Chris Miller Racing in Farmingdale, NY. I have added a 4" CAI with velocity stack since my last 270/227 dyno. I'd bet I'm at 275+/230 now. Hopefully I will be around the 29x/24x mark once tuned. That would tickle my fancy. With some ported heads/cams/retune, I can see 335+whp easily (if I were to go that route).
I put down 270whp/227wtq on a Dynojet SAE corrected prior to my 4" CAI w/Velocity stack. I assume with the new intake I'm putting down 275-278/230. I think the new intake definitely opened up some power. Also on that particular night at the track, the DA was so good I was probably putting down 290+, hence the trap speed. My car is not a 106.x MPH car. Probably mid 104s, maybe 105.
So I went to Atco Friday night. It was a cold night and the conditions were great. Since my last runs I added a 4" CAI with velocity stack. Ran a new PB of 13.46 @106.66 with a subpar 2.27 60'. Couldn't believe the trap speed. My car was probably putting down close to 290whp that particular night given the conditions. Vids/slips are below.
This vid I was pissed I missed 3rd as you can see. Hit the rev limiter in 3rd as well. Would've been my best run.
Maybe this will add some validity to my 'magical' dyno numbers
Went to Island Drag Saturday and finally put together some respectable passes. 13.57, 13.67, 13.71, 13.72. Trap speeds were 101.20, 103.58, 103.71, 103.90. These runs were done on Hankook Ventus 215/55s on the stock 17s. Reason for the discrepancy in trap speeds is because I missed 4th on my best pass, shown below. The DA that day was 1350ft as well. Looking forward to going back in sea level conditions.
For anyone wanting to do the 3.7 TL intake manifold/TB swap. Mike, here are the part #s.
17160-RK2-A00 - Intake manifold 17140-RK1-A01 - Top plate (w/butterflies) <- 6MT ONLY 16400-RKG-A01 - TL Throttle Body (More $$) 16400-RYE-A11 - ZDX Throttle Body (Less $$) 16176-RYE-A10 - Throttle Body gasket 92900-08050-3B - Throttle Body bolts (x2) 17105-RCJ-A01 - Intake Manifold gasket
Below is a link to the ZDX throttle body and misc items. If you buy the ZDX throttle body you will need the 2 bolts #7 shown below rather than the part numbers above, which are for the TL throttle body. Gaskets are identical.
I said to decrease the 0-60 time 1 full second is completel unreasonable, yes. I also said that there's no question this manifold/TB setup is going to make great power.
I think this project is awesome and totally commend and thank Paul for being so innovative. If it weren't for Paul a lot of us would still be scratching our heads. My point is, to expect the magnitude of gains to reflect a drop in 1 full second of the 0-60 time is incorrect. I thought I was stating the obvious....
