I like it a lot. Specially since i do a lot of highway driving on the interstate it comes in handy when you want to switch lanes, no blind spots what so ever. I can see the entire back windows and part of the front windows. Very safe!

Thanks everybody!!

So i have been thinking about something but i dont know if it will work or if its a good a idea so i wanted your opinions and some help as well on this. I am currently dropped on Tenabe DF210 springs and i loved them but as you can see the car is still bit higher in the front than it is in the back so i was thinking about if i could buy one of those cheap ebay coilover sleeves and just use two of the sleeves only and put them in the front with my current springs instead. I will eventually get coilovers once i have the money and my oem struts wear out but for now what do you guys think about this?

It would be putting the threaded sleeves from these..

Under my current springs in order to slightly adjust the height.

Title: Re: Re: [Profile] Olecram39

Simple answer: no. It won't work and its dangerous.
Long answer: no. It won't work as the springs you have are not designed to work with adjustment collars and are designed only to work in the stock spring pockets. Your idea would be dangerous for you and others on the road because it will fail in a bad way. Just save your money and don't try to half ass it.

Title: Re: [Profile] Olecram39
Post by: HEcreated487 on March 26, 2013, 09:04:21 PM
What Z said.  You have lowering springs designed for stock and aftermarket shocks / spring perches / top hats.  These are coilover sleeves (cheap ones at that) and are designed to work with coilover springs, which you do not have.  Like Z stated, it would be dangerous if done.

Thats what I thought. Thanks guys.

Title: Re: [Profile] Olecram39
Post by: B.R.03EX on March 26, 2013, 10:01:11 PM
Its an expensive option but you might want to look into a set of Koni Yellows. With those you could keep your springs and adjust the spring perch so your front end is a little lower. You'll also be able to adjust dampening. They are quite expensive thought.

Post by: olecram39 on March 26, 2013, 10:23:51 PM
Thanks for the info man but honestly a few centimeters its not worth what the Konis cost. I think im just going to ride at this height until my struts go out and then i will be FORCED to get coilovers.  ;D

Last week i replaced my steering wheel cover. Feels much better than the AutoZone one i had before.

Last weekend i installed my rear camber kit. This is right after i had installed it and before i took the car to get an alignment. I was having some fun with the camber kit. lol

Before Alignment:

After Alignment:

When i was installing the camber kit i saw that the rear wheel were worn out pretty bad on the inside so i bought two brand new tires and threw them in the front and moved the ones that were in the front to the back. The rid with the new tires and the camber kit is so much quieter. Before there was a noise from the bumps the rear tires had on the edges where it was wearing out that you could hear all over the car when driving over 40mph. Now it is all gone.

And finally i added the GoGrtoove Smart Mini Bluetooth adapter to my tablet/radio setup. Now i can listen to music/pandora from my phone without having to plug in the 3.5mm aux cable as well as answer or make phone calls on the tablet without taking the phone out of my pocket.

And this is where/how i keep my phone in the car. Little metal circle sticks to the back of the phone and the magnet in the X holds it. I get in, i snap it on, when im gonna get out i snap it out and go. Dont have to deal with flexible arms or big brackets or any of that :D

Nice profile, and welcome to ECM.

I'm digging the tablet/bluetooth setup you've got there. I've been itching to get a bluetooth unit for my car, but I've been told the audio quality sucks ass for music. I currently have a 3.5mm adapter, but that also sounds like shit because it's currently encountering a ground loop static noise. My other idea was to get a replacement aux adapter (or modify my current one and properly ground it), get a USB to 3.5mm external DAC, then play audio from my phone via USB. If I wanted to I could also get an OTG cable with a charging splitter, that way I can charge and play music with one cable.

Anyways, this is your thread not mine. :P That splitter looks great on your car.

I was having the same problem you mentioned. I got myself one of these
http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Systems-Ground-Isolator-B25N/dp/B000LP4RMG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1364863407&sr=8-3&keywords=ground+loop+isolator (http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Systems-Ground-Isolator-B25N/dp/B000LP4RMG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1364863407&sr=8-3&keywords=ground+loop+isolator)

And the noise when you charge your phone dissapears completely. The quality of the bluetooth is exatly the same as when i used the 3.5mm aux cable but both of these are slightly worse than CD and Radio quality but that's always going to be the case. Honestly i think the versatility of the Bluetooth is worth it.

The splitter is the 06-07 Sti Splitter maybe you can search around and find one cheaper.

I tried one of those. Sure, the ground loop noise went away, but the audio quality went to complete shit. Highs weren't as crisp, and the bass was really muddy. I immediately returned it. Oh well. I'll just use this as an excuse to get a TSX or TL. :P

Last night at midnight i got back from a trip from New York City. After living in this country for seven years i finally got the chance to visit The Big City. And let me tell you, it was a great experience. They drive like maniacs in that city. The cab driver from the airport was russian and i thought we were going to crash at least 7 times in 30 minute drive. I am from Miami, and i thought people in miami were crazy drivers but ohhh nooo NYC takes the price. They honk for everything, the streets are horrible, i dont know how people can drive lowered cars in that city. Well here are some pictures i took.

This is three cars turning right from a one lane one way street at the same time.

Gas prices are extremely high compared to Florida.

Is it that bad that you need a rubber mat to protect your bumper from people parking behind you? Apparently it is. This guy went the cheap way. I saw other cars with metal bumpers in front of the regular bumpers in the front and back and they weren't even trucks.

Anyway, i had a great time but i don't think i could live in this city. Shout out to all the New Yorkers out there i give you props.

Title: Re: [Profile] Olecram39
Post by: gargantula99 on April 09, 2013, 08:00:50 AM
This city sucks. For gas, Those are manhattan prices at a full service station. If you go into the outer boroughs and get self service, you can find gas $0.40 cheaper.

The driving is normal here. Everybody drives like dog shit and you have to be defensive all the time. It really blows.

Title: Re: [Profile] Olecram39
Post by: CrackerTeg on April 09, 2013, 09:27:46 AM
Truth. That's why I try and avoid NYC like the plague. Its either be aggressive or overly defensive to make it out of there in one piece.

Title: Re: [Profile] Olecram39
Post by: timot_one on April 09, 2013, 09:45:16 AM
There are bad drivers everywhere.  Different areas have their own unique variety.  I still love visiting Manhattan though.  I prefer to drive in the city late at night.

Title: Re: Re: [Profile] Olecram39
Post by: olecram39 on April 09, 2013, 10:23:37 AM
Let me tell you though, I also did not see ONE accident in the three days I was there. So it seems like yeah they drive crazy but they KNOW how to do it. In Miami you see at least two accidents every time you go out.

Title: Re: [Profile] Olecram39
Post by: gargantula99 on April 09, 2013, 10:36:45 AM
Fender benders are resolved quickly with a $100 bill. No need to get anybody involved. LoL.

Cabbies can't drive for shit....I can attest to that. They drive like the city is their personal obstacle course.

My TSX Intake Manifold arrived today  :)

However, to my surprise when i opened the box this was also inside. The question is, what is it exactly?(i know the IM attaches to it and it might be the injector base?). Will it fit my car? How will it benefit me or hurt me? Or should i just leave the oem accord one?

What about porting the runners? I read something somewhere about that but im not even sure how that works or what it does. What do you think?

Edit: I just found this.

It would only be useful if you port matched your head to the injector base.  If you just port the runners and not the intake ports of the head, they will not be "matched" and there will be a lip on the head.  That lip will create turbulence and it will hurt performance.  It's not really worth it if you're only going to do half the work.

I've done a little bit of research on this stuff.  I don't know everything, but I usually remember some stuff that I've read.

Tim, I did some more research on the porting of the runners. Turns out that from the factory Honda makes the diameter of the runners smaller than the opening on the head of the motor. So there is a lip but in the opposite way. Meaning that by porting the runners you would make that lip/difference in diameter smaller. Ideally by matching the runners to the same size of the head openings you would eliminate that lip completely resulting in no turbulence therefore more power.
The source of this research? Povy, over in DA, he did all of this in his 4 banger. Credit to Povy.

I made a $1 bid on these covers on ebay and i ended up winning them. I was planning on painting my calipers anyway so i figured i would just try these and see, they were cheaper than the paint anyway. These dont say "Brembo", i didnt want to be pretending i had super expensive brakes all i wanted was to see how they looked on the car. Maybe what ill do is ill buy caliper decals that say "Honda" in white and stick them on. I also dont know whether to keep them red or paint them black. What do you guys think?

I haven't installed them yet, this just a test fit, so they may look a little crooked.

This past week i did a few things.

Installed a OBDII bluetooth Reader and synced it to the tablet through the app Torque Pro.

I installed what i call a "Lip Camera". My girl drives my car a lot so i was scared she would rip my lip/splitter off. Now all she has to do is press one button and and see how far she can go without hitting the lip.

today i bought a brand new full nose mask from craigslist for a killer price. It looks hideous, but the bugs here in Florida this time of year are a pain. I dont plan on keeping it on all the time, just for the trips home from college.

I havent been able to really test it on teh highway, im in school still so ive only been driving to the grocery store and back cant really tell much in such a short drive. I have a 5 hour drive to miami this Thursday so ill check back. The doors definitely feel heavier and when you knock on them they sound WAY more solid, they also close with a nice thud now and the speakers sound way better. It took me 4 days to do my doors but that's because it kept raining so i had to keep going inside but it should be like and hour or hour and a half per door.

Nah, im gonna wait until i buy the rear lip so i can spray paint everything at once. I had good results with the front lip, the color match was spot on, dont know how the duplicolor is going to match the rest of the car ive never used it before.

I know it is, that's good. In that case how many cans of base coat would I need? I have clear coat left over from the front lip. Each can is like 7 bucks right?

Title: Re: [Profile] Olecram39
Post by: CrackerTeg on June 18, 2013, 02:27:40 PM
Something like that. I think I used two cans of paint per side to make sure I had good coverage. Don't forget the adhesion promoter.

Title: Re:
Post by: olecram39 on June 18, 2013, 02:39:34 PM
So we are talking about four cans for the sides and let's say 3 for the rear lip which is around 60 bucks. When I bought the paint for the lip the total was 74 bucks and I bought a can of bulldog adhesion promoter 2 scuff pads base coat and clear coat. So I think it will be cheaper to buy a quart of paint at the place I bought it last time.

I finished my Summer A term, came down to Miami for the rest of the summer, started working, and my car hit 100k miles so needless to say i have been busy for the last couple of weeks.
(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG0746_zps17dd3b62.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG0746_zps17dd3b62.jpg.html)
Started by replacing my completely gone left compliance bushing, going to replace the right one soon.
Before: (http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG0863_zpsf754eff5.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG0863_zpsf754eff5.jpg.html)
After:
(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG0868_zpsa9a9344e.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG0868_zpsa9a9344e.jpg.html)

Then i replaced all transmission mounts and engine mounts. All of them were completely broken, the car was vibrating more than a tractor.
These are the new Transmission mounts.

This is the Motor Mount closest to the firewall, all of them were surprisingly easier to change than what i expected, still a challenging job but easier than i expected. I forgot to take pictures of the other mounts, sorry.

I changed and did the following using all Honda Fluids (and Acura Fluids) because i ordered most of the fluids from Curry Acura, free shipping FTW:
-Coolant Flush
-3x Drain and Fill Automatic Transmission Oil
-Power Steering Fluid
-Brake Fluid
-Replaced Transimssion Inline Filter with Magnafine (http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG0906_zps7b4f1c8e.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG0906_zps7b4f1c8e.jpg.html) Still need to cut the old OEM one open to see what it was like inside.
-Replaced the serpentine Belt
(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG0928_zps63df4117.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG0928_zps63df4117.jpg.html) as you can see the arrow was a little off from the mark.
-Replaced the tensioner pulley bearing
(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG0930_zps435b1720.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG0930_zps435b1720.jpg.html)
As you can see it had pieces of rubber from the belt stuck to it because it wasn't turning smoothly and it was making a weird noise.
-Cleaned the Mass Air Flow Sensor
-Did a Seam Foam Treatment to the car
-Replaced all spark plugs with NGK Laser Iridium.
Old Plugs:

Now I feel like i am driving a brand new car, no vibrations, runs great, shifts great. Still need to check for improvement on gas mileage.

Besides the horrible ride quality, did you notice any side-to-side swaying of your car with the damaged motor mountes and compliance bushings?

Title: Re: [Profile] Olecram39
Post by: olecram39 on July 11, 2013, 01:02:37 AM
I didnt, all i noticed was horrible vibrations when the car was in Drive that would go away when shifted into Neutral and would get even worse if you had it in Drive and turned the AC on. The compliance bushing would make a "clunk" sound every time i went over a speed bump and everytime i accelerated quickly from a stop.

Yesterday was a long day. Here is all i did.

I have been working on the prepping of rear lip for a few days after work and then yesterday finally threw the paint on and clear coat.

After the last coat of filler primer.
(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG1058_zps0174f88c.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG1058_zps0174f88c.jpg.html)

Then gave it a couple of coats of black primer so that the paint could covver up better.
(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG1060_zpse8b34142.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG1060_zpse8b34142.jpg.html)

Mixed the paint up.

After the base paint.
(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG1070_zps66d1f113.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG1070_zps66d1f113.jpg.html)
After the clear coat.

While the lip was drying I took my whole interior out.

I got creative and made a custom battery tie down for the bigger battery.

Started with this 1/4 aluminum :

Summer is over :( had to come back up to school but before i started hitting the books again i made sure i didn't have anything pending on the car. So i installed:

Lightweight Underdrive Pulleys

I fixed a dent that i have had in the roof ever since i got the car.
(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG1257_zps00c888af.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG1257_zps00c888af.jpg.html)

Then I wrapped the roof.

(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG1265_zps2cdee16c.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG1265_zps2cdee16c.jpg.html)

(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG1271_zps0fff7228.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG1271_zps0fff7228.jpg.html)

I also changed the O2 Sensor since it was giving me a CEL and fuel economy was horrible. The car was making 16mpg in city. After i changed it, it went from 27mpg highway in a 360 mile trip to 31 mpg in the same trip back. Still need to calculate mpg in city after the new sensor.
(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG1260_zpsc1af1040.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG1260_zpsc1af1040.jpg.html)

And finally, this arrived today.

Nice,  I'm trying to decide which route I'm gonna take next spring, Either repaint or a full wrap. If wrap,  1080 comes in about 20+ color& texture options.

Based on the information I know, I'd say wrap it Rich. Not only is it cheaper, it doesn't chip like paint does.

Stripped out the trunk in order to add some sound deadening.

I used some left over sound deading the old man had from an apartment he is remodeling. This is used to put under the laminate floors. Not specifically for car use but it was free.

I believe the facepalm is due to the "insulation" you're using.

If you look at the third picture, the the plastic trunk covers in our cars come with pieces of this type of material under it, as well as the spare tire cover. All i did was add more to the entire trunk so.....
or the masking tape?
masking tape? i don't even own a roll of such thing.

Did a few things. First, i built some "adapters" for my rhino ramps so that i didnt have to jack up the car and pull out the jack stands to get under the car.

(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG1650_zps39c65527.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG1650_zps39c65527.jpg.html)

I peanut buttered the windshield plastic trim. This is the difference between the one with peanut butter and the one without.

(http://i1306.photobucket.com/albums/s576/olecram93/IMAG1653_zps6a563082.jpg) (http://s1306.photobucket.com/user/olecram93/media/IMAG1653_zps6a563082.jpg.html)

And finally i shaved the door locks.

Over the winter break i installed a used DC Header i got for a good deal. It was missing some gaskets and stuff but i was able to find what i needed. I didnt buy an O2 sensor extender cable to make it reach instead i just cut the wires and used my old Secondary O2 sensor that i had replaced a few months back to make the wires longer. I soldered them and shrink wrapped them so everything is legit.

I really wasn't expecting much of a change but to my surprise there was change. Im not sure if it was for the good though. Before the header, when i was going say about 40 mph and i floored it,  the car would do a little jump forward and take off. Now with the header that little jump is gone at 40mph however i noticed that now it does it when i floor it from a lower speed like from a stop up to 20mph. Im guessing this is an increase in low end torque?

The difference in the inlets of the oem and DC Sports header.

I finished installing the coilovers yesterday, the ride quality was surprisingly a lot better, i guess my old struts were going already. Switching the TL top hats for the oem ones was the hardest part of the install but everything else went pretty smooth.

p.s; Now my front tires rub against the fender well liner/plastic thing. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks guys. Now I'm working on the headliner, I'm re doing that and some other stuff in the interior.

I also bought a new oem roof rack, because the eBay universal one flew off in the high way with a kayak strapped to it. And I am going to install a dash cam as well because when the kayak flew off someone behind me stopped picked it up and threw in the bed of their truck, wasn't able to catch them.

Unfortunately back in April of 2016, This happened.

I was in the process of wrapping my car thats why the different colors. I invited my best friend to go on a little cruise to the florida keys and decided to teach her how to drive stick. well, car in front of her stopped suddenly and she freaked out and did not press the brakes at all. It was Totaled.
