Title: Replacing my head lights with something new?
Post by: Iceburgers on February 25, 2013, 04:24:13 AM
So i've been wanting to replace my headlights with something new. I have a 04 white Coupe. My headlights look old and yellow and they have the silver housing instead of the black. I want to say i want projectors and maybe halos? but i cant find any that look nice. Any suggestions?

Heres a pic of my accord

Get a retro. I'm not sure but I think it's an automatic ban on here if you do halos.

I used to have Halos on my 5th gen and I loved em.  But I haven't liked em on anything since... idk.

I'm doing retros,

and I have halo rings,
in a box...I think they will stay there lol

It's what you want :) sometimes I print a black n white pic of my car and i'll draw/paste other pics on it, just to see what it'll look like. Maybe you could try that before you invest :)

I think what Milan means by the halos are those shitty ebay projector headlights. I'd rather see a PnP kit in stock headlights than those fucking things.

The only lights that come with halos are the shitty aftermarket ones, like everyone has already mentioned.  The problem with those is they are going to be a downgrade in light output.  You're better off getting new OEM or aftermarket OEM replacement headlights and retrofitting them.

You can always have them retrofitted by someone more experienced like I did.  I didn't have the time or patience to do it myself.

Doesn't Ken do retrofits for ECM members? I remember he did a couple of retrofits for some people. I'll let him chime in on that though.

I'd suggest going with Ken or Chris.  Greg did good work but took a VERY long time to finish mine.

So let's say you don't want a retro fit, what are the best replacement headlights to get. I would like black housed ones that are OEM quality. If not I'll buy OEM and black them out my self again.

I think the most common aftermarket blackhoused headlights are the Depo ones.  I've never owned a set, so I'm not sure how well they hold up.

I bought a year ago a pair of spyder auto black houssing headlights (HD-JH-HA03-AM-BK) They look very nice, well sealed and after a winter in canada the clear coat hasn't fade off yet. highly recommend them !
