Squad Numbers have been added. Future members will be added in the order they join ECM pending the attendence of at least one meet. Also, only active members will be included.

I'll be updating this post as time goes on.  Hopefully we'll get more active members on the list.  There are a few members on the list right now that I haven't seen at any meets.  Since it the cold season is upon us, I don't expect there to be too many future events or people showing up to any winter meets.  We will have a spring meet to see who's still active and I will revise the list then.

We haven't defected, we just went back to our sub squad. Technically, we're still NECM.

We had too with out wanting too.  

I'm so confused lol. One minute it's NYCM, the next it's NECM and I thought there was a merger of some sort between the two...now I just dont know.

It's a big ass mess now.

Well, think about it. We break up the U.S. into 4 quadrants and each state in those respective areas are "subs" to that quadrant. Therefore, we (NYCM) are a subsquad of the NECM. Same as FLCM is a subsquad of SECM.

I like NYCM there are so many of us in this area that a subsquad had to be made. Especially since the NYCM gets events going one after the other.

Doesn't mean that those events couldn't all be called NECM why does a number of members create the need for a subsquad esentially all it is, is a name.

Doesn't matter to me.  I'm just going to roll with it and let things happen.  There aren't as many active members in New England anyway.  I'm hoping we can get a few meets this summer though.

We will it might just be you, dave, and I but, we will try. April could be good if some of the NY guys make it up here.

I'm sure I can rope Keith into coming out to a meet.  Maybe we can set up a Saturday meet in a few weeks after I get back to FL.

If you want to come up here after I get back from FL and schedule a day to get our exhaust done at the same shop, let me know.  I just need a little extra time to recover financially from the trip.

There's a shop in Worcester, where Dave had his exhaust done.  It's closer to me, but I'd rather go to the other shop in Waltham because I know the guys there and they're really cool about a lot of stuff.

Hey guys, Im looking at getting a exhaust system done too if the price is right. Tim let me know if you can get a quote on how much the welding/installation of system. Also if im available, I can make it out to some of the meets around N.E too.

What coilovers do you have?  I'm sure we could install them for less than a shop would charge you.

For the record, I'm really only active on this forum.  I've renounced g7a, I'm not a fan of v6p, and only lurk on k20a for info and parts.

i just got the TEIN Basic coil overs.  It would be awesome if i could get you guys to do it or help me out and idk how the payment would work ( aka money or food or w.e.) but I'd gladly do that compared to getting raped at a shop.

Tim I'd help you install these. I could learn a little along the way, and I dont mind getting a little dirty.

All we would need is a spring compressor and hope that we don't have to cut any bolts.  Do you have a camber kit too?

i don't have the camber kit yet.  i want to see how the wheels sit first and then ill see about the kit.  I want the rear camber to be all messed up, it sounds stupid but i think it looks amazing for some strange reason. I hope you will not have to cut anything either but i cant really say one way or the other.  If you don't want to do it its not a big deal, i don't wanna pressure u into it.  Ill gladly rent the parts and stuff that you need, plus i have most of the tools already.

The install isn't complicated, but if bolts are siezed, they need to be cut out.  As far as a camber kit goes, you NEED a rear camber kit if you don't want to replace your tires a few times a year.  This isn't a BMW that has tons of camber in the rear.  Your car will chew up tires without the camber kit.

Nope.  You may just not care about having to replace your tires when uneven camber wear ruins them.

severe negative camber is only good for show cars and track cars, Ingalls kit is usually no more than $130-150 shipped, and costs less than one decent tire, but will save you hundreds or thousands over time.

Invest in the Ingall's Z man!!!! This is why I am waiting so I can do it all at once...

I do care about wearing my tires unevenly. But since I'm running my steelies right now, I don't. But when the new wheels show up, you bet your ass there's going to be a camber kit back there.

That's good to hear.  I'm sure that wrecking your tires is not something you'd want to do.

It definitely isn't. The ones that are on there are some shitty Fuzions the dealer put on to sell the car.

So i went to the dealer to pick up a few things ( bulb for the heated seat swtich and a new cabin air filter $25 ) and i found out that they wouldent event touch the new coils but I'm gong to go to my VW/BMW guy to see how much he will charge me to put em in. Tim if you want to do it just give me a time and a price, and i will glady be as much help as i can as well.  UPS says that they will be here fri.

It took about 4 hrs or so but it was not that difficult at all and i got lucky and all the bolts came out with no problems at all.  We did have an electric impact gun, that helped a lot but we could have done it without it, if we had to.  I'm posting a bunch of pics in the photo thread if u wanna see. Please tell me what you think.

Good update Dave.  Was he just using a regular camera to take the video?  I was thinking about bringing my video camera, but forgot at the last minute.  Next meet we will get more video of Cham's fireballs.

The video was actually taken with my camera - a simple Canon point and shoot.  Not too shabby.

I've always liked going to the park in Hopkinton.  I am going to be busy the next few weeks though.  Anyone into rolling down to NY to go to Z's BBQ meet?

The thought had crossed my mind but, it would be a tough trip for me to make becasue I have to be on a plane back to FL on monday morning.

im game for the local BBQ idea, and if we get a large contingent of NECM-ers that wanna head on out to ny ill hope in the caravan. Always down for a lil road trip.

I'm going down there on Saturday the 11th, but the meet is on Sunday the 12th.  It would be cool if you wanted to come down.  I'm the only NECM guy that has ever come down to a NYCM meet.  The NYCM guys have come up to MA plenty of times though.

hamptons meet looks fun but i got (yet another) wedding to go to that weekend.  if any NECM-ers go i highly recommend taking the orion point ferry across instead of driving all the way through CT/NY and then all the way out to the hamptons.  saves mad time and mad money.

It's too bad I have to go to Oceanside first, otherwise I would do that.  Although, I may take the ferry this time around for new scenery.  Would I have any trouble getting on the ferry since I'm so low?

Others may be more beneficial to take the port jefferson. My original thread title did say the more the merrier.

How much driving time does taking the ferry save? $50 one way is a little expensive.

FWIW, I called them to ask if it would be a problem to get a lowered car on to the ferry.  I basically said that I'm about as low as a Corvette or a Porsche.  They said it would't be a problem, but because of the tides, it would be best to show up for the 8:30 AM ferry so their on ramp is level with the dock.

I'm not all that crazy about taking the ferry, especially since I am goint to be down in Oceanside to begin with.  Maybe on the way back, but I'm not really sure how much it will shave off of the trip yet.

I timed it out for me when I went up there in April and it was roughly the same either way. It came ou to be cheaper driving around, but not by much. There's a couple of tolls if you go by land but also figure in your MPG. once you do that math, you can figure out your exact plans. My zip is 11978 to give a ballpark estimate for you guys. Don't forget to post your intentions in the BBQ thread so I can have a count. Thanks.

Z, I live in Bridgeport but I'm in queens 2-3 times/month and being that I'm the only member from CT, NYCM is the closest squad for me. I don't discriminate though so I got love for NECM also lol

Okay that sounds like a plan Mike.  What I intend to do is drive out Saturday morning to my uncles house with my family; Grandmother, mother, younger brother & dog.  They will stay at my uncles while I do what ever it is that we plan for the weekend.   So I will be available Saturday evening and all day Sunday to drive back to Manhattan that Sunday night.

Will be headed to Paul on Friday for a built set of heads, intake manifold (all ported and polished, aditionally heads shaved for a bump in power across the board), TL-S Cams, a bunch of maitenance items like water pump, idler and TB pulleyb, belts, fresh oil change, valve adjustments and then I'm guessing we will do a street tune on the Apex'i unit, and I'm going to be dyno tuning and tweaking on Saturday August 1st, so thats why I can't make it up saturday night.

Now this I want to see and document...

I guess we will see, make sure to get a printout and write down what type of dyno...so when I beat you at a track you have someone to blame...bwahahahaha....in all seriousness it will likely be close numbers wise, its like an arms race.  :evil:

Tuning will be at 2:00 PM Friday the 31st at ESP in Sterling, MA.  I'm only renting dyno time from the shop.  Cham will be doing the tuning.  I had a long conversation with the owner of ESP and he was very understanding about the situation and we were able to work things out.  I believe my only role at the shop that day will be to video tape and take pictures if I am not driving.  

I will not be going back to Wang's Auto Sports any more.  Their customer service sucks and their scheduling and time management is a fucking joke.  I'm not sure why I have to schedule an appointment, then call them the day before the appointment, then call the tuner the day before, then call them the day of the appointment before I drive to the shop.  As far as I'm concerned, when I make an appointment, I show up at the scheduled time and let the shop do the follow up work and get "their" tuner to show up.  The only time I should have to call back is to cancell or reschedule the appointment.

I will help with that too...

Thats awesome that ESP is letting you rent the dyno and letting Cham do the work! How long are you projecting that it will take you to get that beast tuned? We are starting at 2:00 and hopefully finishing up no later than 5:30.  The shop closes at 5:00, so we won't be there too late.  We are just dyno tuning for power that day.  We have been street tuning it this week, so we should be close to the final tune by next Friday.

If I have my car back from the tranny shop i'll drive up on the 31st. I'm glad your finally making progress!!!

An Asian guy named Gary Wang.  It's a shame though.  It seems like they knew how to make power and build motors.  Comparing them with ESP, they were a lot less professional.  I still liked ESP, but I was just unhappy with the tuning from the impression Cham got (since I couldn't be there).  I am still extremely happy with the fabrication with my exhaust that was done at ESP.  I also think they have a more mature attitude.

As far as the name goes, makes sense. It's too bad like you said. Just the unprofessionalism is what's going to make them lose business. Glad you're going to be making progress and having Cham tune for you.

word of mouth can make or break a business ESPECIALLY in the automotive industry, you would think that they would be a little more conscious of this...

Wish I could have made it out I didn't come home from NH until about 6pm and by the time I got home I was beat. What did you kids end up doing after the black japan part of things.

We left the black japan meet pretty early around 3 (i think). then we headed over to get some yummy num nums at the Texas Roadhouse. That was a funny site, one of us was truly a carnivorous pig eating a huge bone in ribeye (I can't mention who this pig was   )

Afterwards we went to Oakland Beach for a mini photoshoot and hung out there for a bit then went home.

All in all it was an awesome day and the best part of it was barely any traffic to Rhode island and on the way back home. No traffic FTMFW!

I wish I would have been around.

It's coming along slowly.  The primer keeps growing and growing, and the badges and moldings keep disappearing.  Today we got the damaged fender repaired and everything lined up, we flared out the fenders for more clearance, I filled in the holes for the H that was on the trunk.  It's going to be a long time before we're finished.

i'll drive up and help for a couple of those beers..

you never know man, just make sure u have a heat. That was the toughest part of my install was getting the bolts out of the flange that connects to the carback to the cat. Once we got those out it was smooooooth sailing. If I remeber correctly mine took 2.5 hours from the time I rolled my car into the garage till the time I rolled back out again. How old is you car/how many miles do you have on it?

Ohhh, you put the numbers before the names.  I think one thing that I should point out, is that to be a member, you have to attend meets and be somewhat active.  Just because you live in the area isn't enough if you don't participate.  I'm not trying to be too snobby about it, but how can you be a part of something you don't participate in.  I have a busy life just like anyone else, but I at least make the attempt to be a part of things.

I agree but, we also have to understand that people have other obligations in life as well. We have members who work weekends, travel for work etc. this makes it difficult to attend. I guess i'm just trying to add that we should use our better judgement when considering someones particiation.

Steve and I have started talking about a meet in his home state of NH. The discussion was late sept, or early oct. in the Hampton/Salsbury beach area. These areas are really busy in the summer but, tend to die off in the fall. Steve implies that there is a really nice stretch of road along the water front between the two beaches maybe for some photo ops. Tell us what you guys think. I think this could be our first NH meet, and its not to far north.

I will be away at the Long Island meet the weekend of sept 18,19,20. but we could do it the following weekend (9/26, 9/27) or head into October (10/3, 10/4, 10/10, 10/11, 10/17, 10/18, 10/26, 10/27)

My schedule is usually pretty clear on the weekends so I shouldn't have a prob on any of those weekends, but all you boys out there who are traveling extensively or work on the weekends chime in and we will try to set something up that works for everyone so we could hopefully get the entire NECM out to the meet. All 9 of us

Saturdays work best for me because if i'm traveling for work I generally fly out on Sunday.

Saturdays are good with me too.  I will be out of town 09/12 to 09/19 though.  I'm not sure when my paint will be done, but if you guys want to wait for that, it may be a mid October meet.

Hell, I may roll up there if it's early October. The beginning of the month I'm financially better off so I may roll up for whatever you guys have planned.

We would like to add a something new to the regional threads. What we are looking to do is have a Squad leader for each region. The way that we would like to conduct this is to get nominations from the members of each region for who you think the squad leader should be. After this the people nominated will be contacted and asked if they mind taking on the duties of being the squad leader (Basically maintaining the OP, and keeping the member list updated) we have had some squads whose OP has become in active, and this has left the member list unchanged for a period of time. After receiving the nominations and ensuring the nominees are interested we will post a pole in each squad thread and allow everyone to vote.

Please PM nominations, and suggestions to me over the next 7 days.

Just one thing I didn't think of earlier.  We may want to start with people that are willing to be regional leaders.

Thats why I mentioned that I will contact everyone that is nominated to see if they want to take on the duties.

Yea i hear ya, I just got a new job about 2 months ago and I'm now just getting to the point where i feel comfortable. I don't know what your budget is for a susp setup but I love my Tein basics and have had absolutely no problem with em. They take about 2-3 hrs to put in, and its not that hard of a job either. Just my 2 cents.

I would have to agree with Rob, the Tein Basics are very nice. I have been running them for about 7 months now and have 0 complaints about them

I've been lookng to rock a new suspension myself.  I've got my heart set on a set of Tein Comfort Sports.  They have a lower spring rate than the Basics/SS springs that Tein uses.  I'm hoping that will give me a little more comfortable ride than the Basics I have.

I've been puring my efforts and money into this motor swap.  I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row and have all new parts on hand for this.  I've got my Type S and Type R cams already.  I need to get an auto tensioner bracket and a smaller pulley.  It looks like I'll be getting that aftercooler set up, possibly a water methanol injection kit, and a few extra toys for the interior also.  Shit seems to be falling into place finally.

I can't wait to see it done. How much whp do u hope to see?

Tim let me know when you plan on doing all that work. I'd love to see the engine swap and see all this get put together.

Well, Hondata did a simialar build with a 2005 K24A2 with a Type R intake cam, Type S exhaust cam, and a JR Eaton M62 with a 3.2" pulley and made 324 whp.  I will basically be emulating what they did, except taking a bit further.  I will have a 2005 K24A2, with a Type R intake cam, Type S exhaust cam, and a Type S Comptech Eaton M62 with a 3.0" pulley.  I will also have a K20A2 oil pump so I can raise the redline closer to 8k and a JMercado aftercooler, a front mount heat exchanger, an ice box, and an AEM water methanol kit to lower intake temperatures.  I'm hoping to come closer to 350 whp with my set up.


We will be working the weekend of December 19th.  I am hoping to get an early start by tearing my motor out on th 17th though.  There will be a special guest coming here to help with the swap.  Anyone local is welcome to drop by for moral support as long as it's cool with Dominic (since we are going to be working in his garage).

The install turned out okay, though there were a lot of headaches along the way.  I think it needs a subwoofer upon my first listening impression.  The speakers have good imaging, but there's some more tweaking needed.

There is one of those touchless auto match deals on 1A in Walpole its about 10 - 15 minutes away from Patriot Place. Maybe the cars would get less dirty from the ride if you wash them closer to the meet. Let me know if you decide to do it in the Foxboro area mine needs to be washed to.

went to World of Wheels yesterday in the Hurricane. It was okay, good thing i got free tickets and parking because i would have been pissed if i paid for that show. Only bright spot is i bought my new rims with tires for a crack head price

The turn out is supposed to be huge.  Everyone usually shows up fashionably late to these things anyway.  I'm going to be there with Keith and Dom.  Dom is actually going to be rocking my Buddy Club's on his S2K tomorrow for the day.  Then I'm pulling the tires off and taking them to the powder coater on Wednesday.

Tim how was the Hard Park Meet

It was alright for the 30 minutes I was there.  I heard there were about 83 cars total in and out during the meet.  From the pics I saw, there was quite a crowd.

The meet was pretty big. It seemed the later it got few people left and twice as many would pull in but I left kinda early.  Can't wait to see some pictures.!
