Welcome Ariel.  We're here to help.  What sort of direction are you going in for your car?  Performance?  Looks? Stereo?

hey tim, I'm looking at performance and looks. Would like looks first, if its cheaper to do stuff here and there. And I would love ideas on performance :angel:

It depends on what kind of power you want and how you want to get it.  You can just get bolt ons, you can build it n/a or boost it.  It all depends on how much you're willing to pay and what you want to do.  As far as looks go, check out what looks good to you and go for it.  My car has gone through different phases over the years.  I'm fairly happy with the current look, but there's a few changes down the road.

I would suggest you read through the threads and research as much as you can, posting in existing threads with any questions you may have.

Well for now, I just want to beat civic si's. >:(. I know there's turbo, nos, and superchargers. I would like to just basically learn about cars, especially mine. I'll keep it real and say I'm a newb to the game and just want to learn. Tim, your car is fresh, the silver and black go nicely together. I want ideas on what looks I can add to my car. And yes, ill def browse around plenty of threads and do my research ;)

Those are some options.  I guess it depends on whether the Si is stock or modified and what gen Civic we're talking about.  It really depends on how far you're willing to go with this.  I'd recommend choosing a power goal, how you want your engine to be built, and then work towards that goal.  Spanking Si's is pretty easy to do if you build your car properly.  I'm sure I can take a few of them if I wanted to.

What would be the basic first steps to build up my engine?

Start with the basics. Intake, and Exhaust then go from there. Just make sure your choices leave you open to your ultimate goal. For example if you want to go with a turbo application it's not worth buying a header because your probably going to have to change it again later.

Yeah I understand. Would a 2 1/2 ft straight pipe be good for a little more power? B.c. I'm told the catty converter holds you back.

i don't think I would do a straight pipe. You could get a high flow cat.

The exhausts on our cars are fairly free flowing, so just a test pipe or a high flow cat won't make a huge difference.  Honestly, if it were me, I'd probably start off with the good old basic bolt ons.  Intake, intake manifold, header, exhaust, underdrive pulleys.  The major downfall with your car is the slushbox tranny.  That's your weak point.  I know a tranny swap isn't exactly a practical thing to do though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Realistically, it all depends on how much you're willing to spend and far you're willing to go.  There's a guy on here that has an AT coupe with a Comptech supercharger and he's making 250 whp on a Dynapack.  He did a lot of research, got good parts, and didn't cut corners. 

Well time, I just want decent hp,like 200+. I would spend a bit if its worth it,I just want ideas and numbers on how much they would cost. I just want to broaden my choices.

How much power can a stock auto tranny hold until it blows up? I just feel if your wanting to add over 200hp the thing that will hold you back is the transmission. 6spd or 5spd (depending on which power adder you chose) would be a good investment.

I've already discussed the 5AT to 5MT swap with Skippy, and he said it's very expensive and a one-off design. He said it would be around $5000-6000 total to do the swap. At that point I'd rather look around to trade for a v6 6MT.

The stock Trans. should be fine to at least 240 I believe they use the same transmission internals in the V6 and it comes with 240HP.

Greddy turbo kits make about that much on our motors, but they also have been known to ruin them too.

You could just pull the relay or fuse too.  It's probably a lot easier to get to.

Haha, ok.  I was just asking to see what aftermarket cat or test pipe you're using.  Do you have the model number for the Magnaflow HFC?  All I found so far is the OEM equivalent, model #27405.  I'm also looking at the Fastline Performance HFC for the 1st Gen TSX, but I read that it's approximately an inch shorter than the Gen 7 Accord cat length.

I'm not sure of the exact model number. i honestly just typed it in Amazon, compatible cats for a Honda Accord and I snagged one lol. I'll look for the box to see if it says it there.

OEM Inspire Hood/Bumper w. OEM Inspire Fogs and the Parking pole.


What's the parking pole you might ask? It raises up above the hood enough for me to see it and use it as reference to where the front edge of my bumper is. That way I don't go to far in and hit a parking stump/ wall, or anything of that sort. I didn't know this until Turbo_holic(Rob) and ADI(Adrian) told me about it when I purchased it. Shout out to them.

When I'm about to park into a spot or wherever, I'll press the button and it comes out.
Since it was designed for a RHD vehicle, it won't work as good as intended but it'll get the job done when I get used to it.

It definitely has that unique factor. If it isnt hard to wire up it would be nice, people are going to be asking you "whats up with the pole?" everywhere you go. But in reality if you know your car, you dont need the pole, i know exactly where my front bumper ends and i know when i can finish the turn or when i have to back up and turn again.

I obviously know my car, and don't really need this. It's a rare thing that it came with the bumper because every other person that's Inspired doesn't have it. I haven't decided if I will take it off, switch sides or even if it's possible. I would use this luxury because I'm paying a pretty penny for these parts and wouldn't want any chance to fuck it up, no matter how much I "know" my car.

It's simply a reference point. If it was on the correct side (for a LHD) it would help for you to not drive too up on a curb, etc. Its a luxury; not needed. It just sets me apart from the rest.

June 16th - CAM (Cali Accord Meet) (Meet is in LA if I'm not mistaken?)

I definitely will have my car resprayed/Inspired out by then, the only questionable thing is wheels. If I'll have the money for some baller wheels or just buy an inexpensive/or replica set in the meantime.

Those who live out there in Cali or whoever can make it, I highly suggest you do. Why?... Well, there will be at least 3 Inspire UC1s present

Mine has not arrived that I know of. From the last time I checked, it is still sitting in Chicago. Probably still waiting to clear customs, but has been held up due to Christmas and New Years.

Next Sunday I'll be installing my Inspire front/modulo side skirts/rear lip and inspire mirrors wired up. Respray will come at a later date.

What a busy Sunday it was..Inspire Front End, JDM Inspire Modulo Side Skirts and Inspire Rear Bumper w/ Rear Modulo Lip, Inspire Mirrors w/ Power-folding wired up. A work in progress still and a lot to do but I'm happy with how it's coming along. Inspire Tails and Modulo Front Lip coming soon. My Inspire Deck lid Spoiler w/ camera and Inspire Door Handles will be installed at a later date.

Since it's intended for a RHD car, does that mean that the parking stick is on the wrong side now?

Still helps to know where the front ends, so you don't damage a the lip or bumper.
And on one way streets, you still get to parallel park on the left side of the road

Haven't wired it up yet but I've been told/having ideas about moving it to the right side to make it functional. We'll see!

Not sure. Yeah, there's only 1 other guy with the bumper antenna and it's Adrian out in Cali.

There was probably more than one trim level, and the antenna was on the top of the line version or something like that. The inspire had quite some nice feature even for a 2003 model

I've seen the antenna on a few Inspire bumpers for sale recently.

^I haven't seen any, not even on eBay.

they come and go pretty quickly, you got to look often to find what you want. but has ariel said, if i'd buy a inspire bumper, if it came with it fine, but it's no big deal not having it
