I didn't do anything today besides driving to work, but here's what I have done over the past three days.

Saturday:
- removed my BK Butler TBD-475 amp
- installed my McIntosh MC431 and MC440 amps
- reconnected my rear speakers
- adjusted my eq for all my speakers
- time aligned my speakers
Sunday:
- broke the resonator on my exhaust
Monday:
- went and got my exhaust fixed
- added a relay to my amplifier remote turn on
- added a barrier strip as a remote turn on distribution block

Saturday, I changed my oil to synthetic (finally). Sunday and Monday, I did nothing. Yesterday (Tuesday), I put in my new WeatherTech visors and ProClipsUSA iPhone mount within 30 minutes of delivery. I also won the ebay auction for Tein S Tech springs that was posted in the ebay deals thread.

I removed the ugly sticker lines on the side front to back.... I have to go get my TSX mirrors in a few hours and decklid spoiler which were being painted at the shop.

Worked on KPro and got my VTC issue resolved.  Actually, I should give credit where it's due.  Cham did all the work, I was just there for moral support.

Changed the oil before my epic trip to FL!

Sadly, the only thing that has been added to my mod list in the past two weeks is another inch of salt on the outside of my car.  Oh, and how about the red from my brake calipers still chipping from the salt.  *sigh*....can't wait to leave this shithole state.

i filled 'er up w/ 93 last night.

yesterday i fixed the broken clip on my dash kit for my radio and its finally even now. it was crooked from the clip not being in there.

I wet painted it ... Love that product but I'm running low

lets see last saturday got my windshield tinted(i know it's bad but i like it), on thursday i got my old tint removed for darker tint, and today i got a vinyl strip put on over the dot matrix! loving the darkness inside the car now, but hating how long i have to wait in the winter to roll my windows back down!

I fixed my fog lights tonight.  I cut off the H11 adapters and put on 9006 plugs.  I also helped k.huston install his TSX IM.  Actually, I just watched and did nothing.

Lowered my suspension .25" made some modifications to my front fender liners, and went to the car hangouts

Hauled a couple of gallons of used oil to get disposed. Don't ask why I had a couple of gallons of oil. I was just lazy this past year.

LOL, I think I am well over 30 gallons of used oil I need to get out.

Test Fitted my decklid spoiler, looks nice but might just sell it...

changed my oil after 9K. collected sample. will be sending it out today for analisys

amsoil 0W-30. with amsoil ea synthetic oil filter, recomended change interval 25000 under normal condition and 15000 under sever

we will see when oil analisys results come back

The problem I have with leaving oil in that long is the carbon content gets real high, the oil itself may maintain good lubricationg properties, but the high carbon particulate content will act like a water jet cutter on the friction surfaces.......

damn it. so what you recomend? getting regular synthetic oil and changing it every 5k?

not going back to regular thats for sure so maybe will find some other synthetic other then mobile or just change amsoil every 5k which would be about 4 times a year or so

Damn Misha you and me are on the same boat. I'm running Mobil 1 5W20 at 9,200 right now just waiting for Friday PayDay to change it. It's supposed to go till 15,000 but I always change it at 7,500. Paul makes a great point with carbon content. Synthetic oil may not have the same breakdown characteristics as conventional oil, but you gotta watch that carbon. It if were up to me and not my wallet, I'd do synthetic every 5K.

I hope to god you guys are changing the filter at 3-5k...

i send oil for analisys yesterday, based on results ill see what i will do. maybe just change it every 5k with some other syntetic oil couse paying $40 a gallon is bit much i think or maybe not. we'll see

Just found out last night that our alternator is dead. At least I think it's the alternator. You hear nothing when you turn the key but most of the dash lights still light up, foot well leds still light up, grounding kit is barely lit, wouldn't jump using a battery pack and the Optima is less than a year old. So am I right?

I think in most case's if it's the alternator the car will still start the battery just will not charge. It sounds like it may have to do with the starter if your not hearing anything.

What is your current battery voltage?? Will it start while jumping?

Thanks Mike. Paul, no clue what the battery voltage is. I'll see if one of the mechanics will let me borrow whatever I can use to test it. And no it will not start while jumping. Basically some of the lights will light up and there's no sound at all when trying to start or when trying to start while jumping.

Yeah that seems to be the verdict. Paul gave me a couple tips to see if that's the case. So we'll see, I'll keep everybody updated.

Mike is correct.  Have your battery load tested.  It probably died.  Optima isn't exactly what they used to be.  IMHO, check your battery, then your alternator.  Remember, your battery is only a storage device to start your car.  Your alternator provides power when your engine is running.

BTW if it is the starter is that one of those parts that I have to use Honda OEM or can I got aftermarket like at Napa? Cuz I looked up the price of one online yesterday and it was like $360 I think and even when you factor in my discount that's still hefty.

what would be good battery? i need to replace mine couse it doesnt hold charge, luckly every time it dies im at my friends garage and he charges it up.
i had my led lights inside of car on for like half hour and couldnt start the car after so looks like bad battery

Optima is great until it dies on you and leaves you stranded.  Thanks optima!    Derrick you should just have your alternator rebuilt and you can have them increase its output.  I had my alternator rebuilt to 150amps when both my battery and alternator died.  I was like hmm pay over 360 for stock output or just have it rebuilt for 150 I chose to have my alternator rebuilt.

Well, that's true for any battery.  Once you deep cycle it, it will never recover fully back to it's original capacity.  Paul is correct, Optima is still good.  They're just not what they used to be after they got bought out.

Good idea if indeed that's the problem but everybody is thinkin starter because of the symptoms I posted. If it's not the alternator I still may go your route in the near future cuz who knows when it actually could die. Age and mileage is getting up there...

Derrick, I have a alternator here that is for Dre, he won't be needing it for a while, so as long as yours is ok, you can use it to send out for the upgrade and give me yours after it comes back....

I was always under the impression that our alternators could not be upgraded because they couldn't be opened up.  Who did your alternator upgrade again Jason?

It is not easy to split these alts, but I have done a few for powder coating.

Just to inform everyone on Optima's status. The plant use to be located here in Colorado, only a few miles from where I live. The plant has now moved to Mexico. After a few months of the new plant being built in Mexico, the plant has now shutdown. Optima is officially going out of business. Interstate owns Optima, but they have dropped the company because of new and cheap way to make new batteries. The batteries now only have a cell in every other tube instead of all tubes. Optima had a recall on a lot of batteries not to long ago when they switched engineering.

My choice in batteries will be either Interstate, Exide, or Odyssey.

i installed the 6spd strut bar today. cant wait to take this bithc for a spin.

Now i noticed my passenger side headlight has some moisture build up. i am so pissed. i worked so hard on the black house DIY and now this. i was a Newbie then. so i didnt bake them (used heater blower). since i didnt bake them i couldnt reuse the sealant they used. i scrapped it all off and then used black silicone to seal them back up. it was such a messey job, so i guess it was a matter of time. dont know what to do now.

You should have left the sealant on there and re-used it.  I have found that the oven is the best method to evenly heat the adhesive/sealant that Honda uses.  After I get everything heated up and together, I use multiple spring loaded clamps to hold the headlight together while it cools down.

I bet you could pull your headlight off, heat it up, and use clamps to get a better seal.  It's worth a try.

id say preheat oven to 300, put headlight in for 3 minutes, take it out and open it
i used this to open fx35 headlights which looked to have same sealant. when i put first headlight for 4 minutes bottom clear lens  melted a little(not that i care for this headlights, just needed to get projectors out)
it was little harder to get second headlight apart that was in for 3 minutes, so i think if you do 3.5 minutes it should be fine

I usually heat the oven to 250, turn it off, then put the headlight in for 4-5 minutes.

right now i removed my front bumper. i'm repainting the lower grillcraft foglight grills (wax buildup from when i first got it detailed never came off) and repainting the actual foglight housing black.

grills and housings all done and put back together. god damn i am getting sick of the floors at work. there's mold  build up underneath and when i rinse off the floors and then lay on them, the water seeps through and now my t-shirt back is wet and dirty. i'm definitely leaving at 6 instead of 7. its so dead

did a thorough check of the whole car (everything from computer wise to mechanics) and found only a few problems.

-adjusted my rear shoes
-ordered an auto-tensioner assembly/serpentine belt
-re-fit my grill (part of it was sticking out from the bottom; don't know how but just pushed it back and it's fine for now)
-bent back one of my exhaust hangers so the muffler would sit center in the bumper cut-out
-ran a full diagnostics scan and found out my cars engine is running healthier than a yukon denali with a quarter of the miles that i have (30k miles on the yukon and the LTFT in particular was off the chart at 19% above ideal. told the guy to take it to the dealer)
-figured out how to take the 'Not an Ashtray' thing off



boring day at work. i was done with my quota at 11am (had a few cars that didn't get cashed out till this morning) and couldn't leave till 5 so i killed 3hours meticulously going through my car... then sat in the office and did management work haha.

I let it get snowed on. Wasn't expecting anymore snow this year, and this morning happened. Fuck it. Hopefully I put the Teins in this weekend.

Brushed all the snow off and cleared most of the driveway for her to get out if necessary. We got over a foot last night.

i checked my car yesterday and the moisture in my headlights are gone!!! still good today.  


i didnt know better at the time. i learned the method of baking them vs heatgun and prying till after i had them prep'd for paint. and i had removed all of the sealant honda uses. "to give it a smooth surface". i used black silicone to seal them up. i clamped them down and everything plus i put ALOT of silicone.. thanx tim. i now know for next time

i cant believe i did this. on sun i popped open the hood to retighten my strut bar, and i snapped a stud coming from the bar. so yesterday i took of the strut bar and installed my stock bar. today im going to pop off the remainder of that stud and probably just use a bolt to put her back

planning to go to friends garage to help friend with coilover install. maybe will give her quick rinse from all this snow and ice built up

Wait, did you actually bust off one of the studs on your shock absorber mount for your STB or did you bust a bolt on your STB?

nah man.... thank god! i busted a bolt on the stb. its not even a bolt. its a rounded bold thats pressed in.... i went over to maple honda yesterday and got the parts guy to get me a 12mm nut and 12mm bolt. so today i hammered off the broken stud on my stb. after about 4 or five good hits. it popped out. it was fairly easy. i used the 12mm nut and 12mm bolt and it fit perfectly...i bolted it all back up. i took the car out for a spin. and seems to be ok....... i dodged a bullet there. It could of been worse. if it was a stub from my suspension that couldve been costly....

It is actually only about $10 in parts.

did your stb give you any noise? did you ever have to re-tighten it?

Ummmm.  My STB's are the OEM V6 6MT STB and the Neuspeed STB, no tightening needed because there are no bolts.  You just bolt them up to your shock towers and call it a day.  STB's that are multiple pieces aren't exactly that sturdy.

just got home from spanking a Nissan Sentra Spec V SE-R (Possibly boosted). got a good bus lengths on him every time. left TCS on and barely powershifted and still walked him 3 times in a row.

cleaned the fucker after 2 months! looks all pretty now

no i have the oem v6 spd strut bar. and i just took out the car tonight and there is still noises coming from the under the hood.... im going to allow time for strut bar to break in or sumthing. see if the rubbing goes away

Installed uber-wides back on and didn't raise it back the .5" I had lowered it. A bit of rubbing but looks tits lol.

Watched the final pieces of snow and ice fall off yesterday. It was like watching a piece of an iceburg fall and crash into the ocean. Quite exhilarating! LOL!!!!

drove my car today. my v6 strut bar still seems to be making noise. dont kno if its loose or something, but im scared to tighten it any further, cuz last time i retightened the nuts i snapped a stud off!

I installed a new Interstate Mega Tron ll battery, which was much needed. Then failed my inspection today because I neglected to tell the guy I just bought it 1 hour prior to coming to his shop. Apparently when you install a new battery it erases the memory of your car and you have to drive it so the comp can get it all back. So I failed because of this! Sucks because I still had to cough up $37. Now I have to go back next week on my day off and I should be fine....

Plus side to my day: Battery works great, car started right up better than ever! Cost me $87.00, not bad! I also got my replacement Fujita w/o MAF in the mail today... me so happy now! Now I just gotta work on my Tokico Shocks and Rear Camber Kit and I'm golden!

Must have failed the emissions inspection.  Cuz my shop usually has me drive cars right after they've done something inlvolving unhooking the battery so that i can get it through it's drive cycle and then they can do the emissions.

Installed Darton Sleeves into a J block, it is cooling down now.....

Discovered how inaccurate my external thermometer is. It said it was 49* when it was snowing and was obviously around 34-36*

Washed, claybarred, and waxed the car. Also re-painted my calipers the right way so the paint will stay on this time.

Drove the help out of it back to home depot to give the managers hell for not having the circular saws chained so they don't fall on unsuspecting toddler's dome pieces and make them cry. True story.

Haha, thanks!  All the old bolts had to be torched off.  You have no idea how happy I am that I didn't try to do this myself.  Paid a buddy of mine who owns a shop $75 to put this on.  Very noticeable gains.  Definitely a must-mod for the J30 for the money.

washed her yesterday but today she is dirty again couse of weather. SAD. ill have to wash it and polish it this week for 14th meet

Just finished installing my s techs. Kinda hard to do when you don't know where the rear shock mounts are. Had to do a little poking around to figure it out.

You coulda asked one of us.  We would have helped.

I tried hitting a couple of you guys on aim. The only guy that was online was Cham and he never responded. Its all good though. After I found the rear upper mounts, it was cake. Took me about 2 hours total with hand tools.

Paul fixed my radio (dark display). Used Wetpaint for the first time, lowered my ride more, repainted my calipers, fixed my shiftboot.

Spent four hours trying to clear up the winter left overs

Got my manual tranny fluid changed by Skip, and now just waiting for Tim to get here so we can all chill.

Put brakes and calipers on. Now I'm breakin them in

i already have a k&n drop in air filter, so im gutting out my stock air box for a little bit more air

wiped her with maguairs detailer, and put layer of Menzerna FMJ. looked pretty good. got to work today, already thing later of salt dust on it, i guess cant do anything untill rain washes all salt off the road

Changed the Transmission Fluid and Gave it a good wash.

Blew my driver's side HID ballast, so re-installed Halogens on both sides till I figure out what I am going to do.

Just finished washing my car. Clayed one side and waxed it because the sprinklers left some water marks on it last night.

PS: Those big fucks get really good gas mileage on the highway (i got it to 27mpg mixed driving; 75% highway/25% city)

JT where did you pick this useful tool up at? Cuz I got 2 dents on my trunk thatnks to my popz backing it into the driveway and hitting his 74 malibu... and I got a small dent on my DS fender. I wanna clean these up a bit without major work since out here in NY it would be next to impossible to have a freshly painted ride for long!

I dont know why I always hit this thread the day after I do something. Anyway, yesterday I finally manned up and detailed the engine bay, washed, clay barred for the first time and then wet painted. She's happy now. After doin all this yesterday I realized I need to re-up on rags cuz my micro fibers have about had it.

^ Yeah I know. I've been complaining about our shit camera for a while now so I dont think it would've done all my hard work justice. Plus after getting 5 hours sleep Saturday night I changed the oil on the Sentra, detailed it's engine bay and whole car as well as the stuff I already mentioned about the Accord.  I started at like 11 and didnt wrap everything up til 6ish so my back and body parts were killing me!

hit a pothole that almost swallowed my car... bent the living SHIT out of my rim so i just ordered a new one....shes limpin around on a donut as we speak... poor thing

on a good note... my tokico hr shocks/struts and ingalls rear camber kit came in the mail today
and my new panasonic leica digi camera will be in tomorrow...

- Oil change (damn old oil was clean! but it was time)

- Fuel Induction Service (man I should have taken a picture or a video of the aftermath; CLOUDS UPON CLOUDS of carbon smoke! Then a ten mile drive just chucking white smoke behind me!)

- Steam Cleaned my seats and floor mats... they look brand new! Except for the seats, they're fucked.

- Bought all the crap for the $20 Home Depot oil catch can. This one has 150k miles, maybe I'll have a different outcome.

I didn't do anything for my car lately, but I did make a custom length HID harness for Skippy yesterday.  You can barely even tell that it's there.

Will be test fitting a all aluminum radiator for the SC project.

TSX IM comes in the mail today!!! finally...hopefully installing it either today or tomorrow...i'll snap a few pics during the install.

Removed all the decals from the car...

Well unlike the decal whore, lolzzz I added some under the hood for show purposes. I also added a new dress up kit and 80% cleaned my engine bay to a shine... my arms hurt polishing the metal parts! I also cleaned and waxed the car on this amazing beautiful day in NY.

Also had to get another inspection sticker because when they did my window last week they fucked it up so I didn't want any problems (like a $65 ticket) down the line so I just decided to pay the $37 again and be done with it!

But in all it was a good day!

I  hand washed my car myself and spray some detail spray on it "Strauss auto stuff" and added some Xentec 10000k hids

using tuner lugs on oem wheels, shop did ballance of my wheels before mega meet and they snapped one of my studs on wheels. replaced it. didnt wana touch my passenger wheel till today, so we snapped one of studs on that wheel. so righ tnow im rolling on 4 lugs
forgot my studs at home so probably will replace it tomorrow after work or maybe today. not gona take axle out, eff that. know way to replace studs without taking axle out

Yeah.  You have to grind down a small part of the flange to get it to clear.  That's what I did when I busted one of my studs.  Sucks to hear that you snapped another one.  I dropped my car off to get an alignment done this morning.  I have crazy camber wear on my rear tires because I haven't had time to get an alignment done.  Looks like I will need a new pair of tires.  Such a costly mistake.

Test fitted my new 19" setup on my right front yesterday and does not rub at all. It shouldn't provided it's a narrower setup. Although it IS taller by a few millimeters, it's 10mm towards the inside of the car. Rides great for slammed on rubberbands too.

Ordered a new rear brake set up yesterday. Brembro blanks, and Hawk HPS I can't wait till they come in I currently have a case of the squeaks.

Backed it Into my sister's car. FUCK! It was 5 in the morning and for some reason she did not park in her spot but right behind me, so with out looking I started to back out of the garage and bam... It knocked some paint off and it's gonna bug the hell out of me.

3am: Scuffed my front bumper pulling into an extremely narrow parking space (usually park backwards in that spot but it was late and i made a bad decision)


no worries. Most of it seems like it can be buffed out (mostly paint from the wall i grazed)

Installed my CF Trunk, finished sealing headlights and re-installed, oil change, CF FUCKIN TRUNK!!!!!  Wow I love this mod, and it gave me fully shaved emblems in the back as a small added bonus, pics tomorrow!!

Oh and washed and buffed, thisis the second full weekend day I've spent in 2 weeks doing work on my car.

Gave it a nice wash and cleaned up the engine bay alittle.

Flushed my clutch fluid today and helped Keith (k.huston) install his exhaust.  The exhaust came out sweet and sounds awesome.  Unfortunately, flushing the clutch fluid didn't do a damn thing to fix my problem.  Looks like I'm replacing my clutch master cylinder.

Left mine in the driveway, due to a loss of third gear. It will be getting dropped off at my local dealer tonight now I have to make the call to the warranty company that should be really fun.

It just doesn't shift into third starts slipping and whinig. I had to limp home with it in second. I'm going to limp it to the dealer this afternoon.

Resistance the whole way when pressing the clutch.  The clutch engages really low (about 25-30% up) even though the clutch push rod has been adjusted to the maximum length.

I don't have a DIY, but I have gone through the replacement for this with Skippy a few times.  It's nothing horrible to do, but you do have to know a few tricks to get it out, like removing the brake master cylinder to get better access to the clutch master cylinder.



You just replace the clutch master cylinder as one piece.  It's #7 on this picture.  The i4 and V6 clutch master cylinder is the same part BTW.

Took the tires into Costco today, where I got them.  They replaced them all under warrantee!  I just had to pay for the percentage of what I used the old tires for.

I'm just glad the car didn't get keyed!

what i dont get is how i have problem only at high rpm shifts and not all the time. maybe i have to bleed it again or something, i didnt bleed master cylinder,

my friend connected his air tool thing to my bleeder screw on slave cylinder and i just kept pouring brake fluid into sleve cylinder(#18) untill old fluid was out. i guess that doesnt bleed master clutch cylinder

Misha, #18 is the resovior that goes to the clutch master cylinder.  Your friend flushed the entire system, not just the slave cylinder.  It just happens that the slave cylinder is where the bleeder valve is for your hydraulic clutch.  It is exactly what I did on Sunday also, with no change also.  If you're unsure that it is the clutch master cylinder, then take it to Honda to have it diagnosed.

Replaced the primary o2 sensor on my sedan!  I thought I would have to take this to my buddy's muffler shop to get it torched off like a couple members on this forum but I though that it won't hurt to take a crack at it.  

Went to Auto Zone, rented an o2 removal wrench with a 1/2" driver socket.  Attached my 20" breaker bar and soaked the o2 with some liquid wrench for about 15 minutes.  Found out you can't really wrench on the sensor too hard because the flex pipe allows way too much movement.  So I put one hand on the muffler pipe to keep it from moving and one hand on the breaker bar.  I really didn't expect to be able to remove it but it came loose with relatively little force!  

I was super happy that I didn't have to pay anyone to take it off!  Then it was just a matter of unscrewing the old sensor off and replacing it with a new one.  It's much easier to disconnect the wire from the engine with the car back on the ground so I lowered it, removed the old wire and plugged the new one in.  

I pulled the battery for about 10 minutes, started the car and alas!  Check engine light is off!  Took her to Costco for some groceries and a full tank of gas and no issues!!

I also replaced the J-pipe exhaust hanger on Gen's 6MT coupe which was torn when the Richie J-pipe was put in.

replaced my broken wheel stud. now i have all 5 wheel nuts on.

my problem gona bug me now. what can it be, if it was bad master cilinder why does it only do it at at high rpm shifts
or can it actualy be clutch going on its way  out

took my car to the dealership to have them check my vsa system becuz it was activating itself for no odd reason even though the road is dry and while i was making normal turns. i found out that the systems sensor failed and their ordering another one for me.

yeah man insurance is covering it...probably wont have to pay my deductible either

backoff device installs between ecu and your tails(taps into your brake like wiring) and flashes 5 times before going solid so it gets other drivers attention i guess better.

Picked her up at the tranny shop, Shifting well. I think the computer has a little learning to do though. Brought her through the gears on the highway, and it seems good. Fresh Tranny rebuile FTW! Cost of fresh tranny rebuild FTL!

Fixed the clunking coming from my front TL-S sway bar.  Just had to swap the endlinks from left to right and tighten those suckers down!!  Finally no more clunking going over rough roads!!!!   Also dropped off Gen's 350Z rims and Pirelli tires to get mounted.

Took her for a lil spin yesterday just to stretch her legs.  My next day off I think I'll clean up the rims and put em back on. It should be safe now...

Wash and waxed my ride for the movie meet tomorrow night, all clean and nice! Painted my TSX IM aluminum to go better with the theme under the hood, waiting for it to dry.

Lowered my car some more today.  Dropped one perch in the front on the Konis and two in the rear.  Would take some pics but car is filthy and I am exhausted.  

I had to do the rear driver's side three times.  First time I dropped the perch and lowered my car to see the results.  It actually sat higher than before so I thought I did it wrong so I re-did everything but this time I raised the perch five notches thinking that would lower it.  Dropped the car and it sat even higher!!  AAAHHHhhhhh!  I wasn't thinking straight because I was only running on breakfast and no lunch.  Sooooo, I re-did everything once more and finally got it where it should be.  Then I found out that instead of using a spring compressor on the rear spring I can just use a jack and a 20" breaker bar to push up the spring perch.  This way it only took me about 5 minutes instead of 30.

dont you just have to adjust height of spring and not mess with compression settings?

On the 9" rim get 255/35/18. That's the size I am going to go with next. It will have a similar sidewall to your sexy stretched 225/40 without such a stretch and more footprint :).

Did they come with those tires?  They seem kinda narrow for a 9" wide wheel.  If you're planning on getting new tires, I'd go with a 265/35/18 for more grip, yet you would retain the same outside diameter as the within 0.1" (depending on the brand and model of tire).  I'd just roll and pull the fenders and quarter panels to reduce rubbing issues.

I hear ya.  From your posts, it seems that you're going for performance over looks now.  That's why I suggested the wider tires.  I think the stretched look belongs on euros more than imports, but that's just my opinion.  It's good that you've rolled your fenders and quarter panels, but you may get some extra clearance if you pull them too.  I was able to reduce rubbing issues that way with my summer wheel set up.

Oh yeah, as far as what I've done today, I've gotta go pick up my new clutch master cylinder from shipping at my officed, then call FedEx about the delivery of my new subwoofer.  I also made a payment on a small performance upgrade.

i was supposed to get an alignment today with my camber kit installed, instead i got my fenders rolled with the camber kit installed. didnt know my rear camber was way off lol, -3 degrees. so ill have to wait next pay day for the alignment

How much did rolling the fenders set you back if you don't mind me asking?  

I got Gen's tires mounted on the 350Z rims and threw them on my car just for kicks.  Lets say that 18x8 +30 is strictly for coupes.  The rears might work if the fenders were rolled and pulled but the fronts, forget it!  I have pics, will post 'em later.

the guy at the shop double checked for me (the tool looked sorta like a compass lol). i wouldve done the camber kit install myself but the screws were pretty tight i couldnt do it.

*forgot to mention it was kind of a tuner shop. does all kinds of things like suspension work, exhaust, fabrication etc. sorry if it sounded like i didnt go to an alignment shop

the fender rolling was 50 bucks a wheel. it could have gone towards my alignment but money was tight and if he corrected my rear wheels, it would have been shredded from the fenders. my alignment is supposed to cost 100 bucks plus tax.

$100 sounds a little on the steep side unless that's a lifetime alignment which I doubt.

true, it sounds a bit steep but sometimes you cant cheap out on things lol. im all up for being cheap around things but if im going to spend a bit of money, id spend on something i know is of good quality. as for the shop, ive heard nothing but good things from them. they were very nice in letting me know my options and double checking on their work. a baseball bat wouldve been an option of mine but i dont have one lol

Pulled my McIntosh MC440 out so I could ship it to NJ too get repaired.  Installed a BK Butler TDB 475 in it's place until I get it back.  I also installed a McIntosh MC443 and a JL Audio 13TW5, then did a quick tune of everything.  I also put on my summer rims and lowered my car.

Tomorrow I should be doing my clutch master cylinder install, another tune on my system, and a little bit of cleaning.  I'll also be giving Justin and Keith a hand with their rear sway bar installs.

I washed and waxed my baby for the first time in over a month or two of rainy weather. we finally have some sun in the Puget Sound and i gotta say, its great!

haha yeah it was some pretty good weather today. i purchased a USA SPEC adapter for the car today from crutchfield.

Fully washed, Full hand wax, machine buffed, fully detailed the interior, my cars paint hasn't been more clean, pristine or deeper and richer in color since when i first took the car home brand new in may 2005, oil and filter change, new wiper blades, dropped the car another 1/4 of an inch and tuned dampening settings on coilovers.  Only took me 8 1/2 hours total to do :)

took front wheel off. measured brake calipers to make sure i dont need gs brakets for conversion, brake pads seem to be the same as my 6spd so dont know whats up with that and why i needed gs pads. thursday going to my friends shop and puttting brakes on, cant wait any longer, have to ship old calipers back out

You need GS pads because you're putting them in GS calipers.  How can that not make sense?

ordered window visors from handa, and the window pillar garnish (on the exterior) from majestic.  small improvements, but every little bit counts.  my ingalls camber kit should be here today or tomorrow.  which means i'll have those bad boys installed by this weekend (hopefully)

Sure, if you don't mind your brakes squealing like a stuck pig every time you stop.  The shims are there to reduce vibration which causes your brakes to squeal.

fixed one of my fog lights. they were kinda old (off of my dads old truck) so i cleaned everything with new wires, screws, sanded the rust out. but one of them would keep going out. opened up the fog light casing and one of my ground wires came out of the connector. fixed everything and hope it doesnt happen again.

Got my new mufflers installed and loving them.

i replaced all my valve cover seals, it was leaking alot of oil good thing i caught it at a early stage..

Installed my Legend GS calipers, ebc green stuff and brembo blanks. brake in went well. smelled and smoked pretty good

replaced my serpentine belt. didnt have any right sized wrenches to get started so i had to buy a set. on the way to lowes, there was an accident that involved a gen 7.5 accord. broke my heart.

I restored my head lights. Made a huge difference. They still are not perfect though, which gives me a reason to get inspires some day.....

Then I disconnected my stock tweeters and figured out what HFP on my radio was and that helped a lot with my bass.

I put Neuspeed Race springs and the 350Z rims on Gen's car.  It was too late for pictures by the time I finished but I think I will make a trip out there with my tripod.  Car looks fawking sweet.  The rear tires are more flush then my car and the fronts are more flush as well but I would say they stick out about 3-4mm.

My stock battery craped out on me after 7 years so i got my self a duralast gold with 640 cold cranking Amps (800 cranking Amps) and 8yr Warranty and all i can say is wow my car feels way better starting

well yesterday i installed the brnad new gloss black OEM pillar trim pieces i got (way faded on the coupe), and the OEM window rain visors.  looks sleeeek, i'll post pics when i clean her up.

Thought I could pick these items up from UltraRev since they are located by me but they said I will get my items directly from Ingall's and Injen, so I had to pay the shipping! O'well... Next up Tokico'z hopefully this friday when I get paid. I also got around o painting and clear coating the molding under the hood that covers the fender bolts.

Washed, waxed, vacuumed, pulled out the carputer, put back in the stock lower cubby and pulled out all the cabling from the carputer. Removed my PLX device as well. This took forever. I really did a great job of zip tying everything in . Man I was sweating in this Florida heat today. Anyway, it is all out and back to a stock interior, minus the Navi upgrade I did.

Serpentine Belt; this morning when I was doing my random morning check I noticed a tiny tear starting to appear on the middle of the belt.

Cleaned my rims inside and out, while I had them off the ride I sanded and cleaned my calipers and painted them lime green. I also painted some trim pieces under the hood and in my trunk. Then gave the ride a good clean wash! When I got home from work tonight I helped tape up my brother's civic so we can lay down the last coat of pearl white, after about an hour we applied the 1st clear coat with sparkles. Tomorrow morning it gets the second coat of just clear. In the afternoon the last coat of clear goes on and we are officially done! The car is looking amazing for some work done in a tent in our backyard!

Can't wait for the car show in PA this sunday!

Bought a new slave cylinder for my clutch.  Hopefully that will make it here in time to be added on the list of shit to install this weekend.

Threaded my stock shift knob further up than what the factory does in an attempt to make it sit lower, while retaining the factory appearance.

Started Clicking noisily sunday morning, then it was intermitent today, in addition to the tires being way off balance (fronts are really worn down quite handily, going to a much sportier summer radial), how I am still not sure (at least the damn wheels are good).  Alignment needs to be done,  And you wonder why I keep having to put off that S/C and 6 speed swap, LOL.

Replaced my Valve Cover with a custom Lime Green one I painted and changed all gaskets. I also had to replace my lil' brother's power steering hoses on his civic that were'nt good anymore. Now his car runs fine.

Next up for me since I have s much time on my hands... TSX IM, probably this week!

washed her and put ebc green stuff pads in back. going to get inspection done tomorrow, gona hold off on putting new tires on since they pass and i wana do some burn outs.

I guess that not everyone has a bunch of extra primary wire lying around like me.  But the ground wire can be grounded anywhere on the chassis, so it doesn't have to be a long run.  You sure it was a ground wire?

drove it to a meet in the pooring rain, then drove it home.  Tim now that the axles have broken in and the Tires have been replaced and upgraded, the vibration issue is taken care of, Thanks for the advice on that one.  The tires are killer now, went from an all season to a extreme performance summer.

painted my fog lights. i wasnt liking the offset the fogs put out (that creamy white color) with my 6000K HIDs. it looks good with the front overall. not sure how to change the bulbs, theyre aftermarket JDM (really they are) and the bulb is like connected to the reflector. so ill have to figure out how to replace the bulb when it burns out.

You could have saved yourself some time, trouble, and money by grounding it to the chassis of your car.  There's no need to run the cable all the way back to your battery terminal.

As for me, yesterday I changed the oil, tightened up the oil sandwich plate, changed the coolant, found the source of the knocking noise in the rear end of my car, epoxied my vents back in on my center channel pod, and removed some parts from my car.  Today I installed my new shortened shift assembly, found the source of the clacking noise in the front end of my car, replaced my plugs, and added some parts to my car.

You will have to open the assembly to get to the bulbs… I had those fogs on my car before… I replace the original bulb for a yellow one… The out-put did get worse…

re-smoked my tail lights. it was more of making the red a little more darker and sanding the clear part (i sprayed the whole thing and had the gold effect) but i started not to like the goldish color.

Washed the car today so I can cruise my Mom today in style. Happy mother's day to all of your moms!

wash and wax, vacuum, rims/tire detail, and interior detail..... took me about 3 hours to do
used Meguiars Tech Wax 2.0....came out pretty good

New weather stripping for the sub, and new screws since it wasnt an absolute leak free seal (sealed box)
also reinstalled my infinity kappa 6.5's in the back, had to mount them from the bottom because of the tweeter being too high for the speaker covers to fit, required sawzall haha
came out awesome and sounds sweet as hell,

i installed my kappas fine. had to cut some of oem grill but its only from bottom so you cant see anything from top.

try that. couse speakers are deep and might limit your trunk space.

finished up with the tail lights. any of you guys know how to get a glossy finish on tail lights? i wet sanded with 1000 grit, then 2000 grit. followed with medium fine cut cleaner and then wax. but i still have the matte finish. is it the clear coat i used? i used acrylic enamel, should i have used automotive clear coat?

i also blacked out my emblems and front emblem. looks sick.

dont tell me you painted your tail lights?... if you did that sucks to hear that you painted it, because unless you use traslusent paint with a good amount of clear coat you are never going to get that glossy look on your tails.. is better to just tint your tails with the smoke Vynil and it gives you the glossy look with out having to paint anything..

lol dont worry, its VHT nightshade. i already had my tail lights smoked already but it was a little still bright.

Change the rear rotors, and pads. I'll post pictures later of the most worn rotors i've ever see. Car is stopping 100x better, and I have yet to touch the front. Used Brembro Blanks in Hawk HPS i the rear like many members have suggested.

filled her up last night. put in 15.91 galons in, got 408 miles out of it so 25.64MPG, better then last times and i drove in stop and go traffic so its good. gona try to drive normaly this time to see how much i can save again

Yesterday I finished up my radiator flush, tightened a coolant hose clamp when I found a leak, cleaned my air filter, and replaced the relay harness and relay for the low beam ballast in the S2000 projector on my PS headlight.  Tonight I will be drilling out a bolt that I busted the head off of for my PS headlight bracket, oiling and replacing my air filter, reinstalling my bumper cover, and hopefully connecting my PLX DM-200 OBD gauge after swapping my OBDII port to my KPro ECU.

Got the ball rolling on some assets that needed to be shifted for me to pick up Levi's TL wheels this weekend and my Ingalls camber kit I plan on ordering.

went outside and found bird pop on my hood. cleaned that and put wax on that spot.

Re-installed my grill. 3M tape on the bottom gave up i guess.

You should get on that one as soon as you can.  The Ingalls rear camber kit is on backorder everywhere right now.

(Yesterday) I had 60,000 miles required maintenance performed. ($345.00) <--- Never doing that again.

Also, I put on new brake pads and rotors, and my brakes are now very touchy :D

acrylic lacquer has more of a shine then acrylic enamel does.  

i use either the duplicolor automotive clear coat, or duplicolor acrylic lacquer.  I have had a couple of bad cans of the duplicolor automotive clear coat, just spray it on something else before u use it on ur car/lights..

Mounted my new PLX OBDII gauge (that I got from Scott), installed LED's in my gauge cluster bezel for a shift light, installed new CCFL's in my trunk so I have light in there again, and swapped out my "still not fixed yet" McIntosh MC440 with my back up Butler TBD-475 tube amplifier.  I also put a few panels back where they belong and did a couple of extra things.

just got home from a friends house, we were trouble shooting my HIDs in the OEM fogs. for some reason, those kits always have the wires and clip backwards

yesterday was the best day ever... being that its my bday this weekend i wanted to treat myself to some parts. so i was online and found a used 06-07 rear lip for 50!!! i immediately called the RH honda and went in to check it out. it was in near perfect condition minus the dirt... i offered him $40, and it was mine! i did need an install kit (screws, bolts, clips, two way tape) $13. but i talked him into getting me some screws and bolts, i figured i could always get clips from my cousin. then i also wanted the honda wax n shine, (being that its the easiest way to wash and wax your car in the sun) and he threw me a free bottle! so all i needed now was some two way tape. i went over to the local dealer and they gave me 4ft of it for free!!! i am so lucky to have found this deal. guess it was just my lucky day.

as for fitting the lip, it is off a bit around the corners. i think i need to use a heat gun to mold it abit. any advice on retro fitting the lip on to an 05 coupe would help

Cleaned the shit out of my interior with my new Bissell Little Green.  I also cleaned up some wiring running from the rear to the front of the car.

Washed and waxed it. Then changed my door sills. Test Fitted a color matched grill but, didn't like the look. Made some adjustments to the way the front bumper was sitting.

Washing it again tonight, needs some love after a two hour ride in torrential downpours.

detailed roof, reaplied menzerna FMJ on detailed side, roof and hood. gona finishe passenger side tonight and car will be fully detailed them. cleaned one of the weels and applied colonite 845 to see how good it is with brake dust.  replaced wiper blades with rainx latitudes.

cleaned my grill. looks all shiny now. unlike the rest of my car, its all swirly :(

Today I did a radiator fluid change and cleaned out the K&N filter. Too bad I can't wash it since it's going to be raining the rest of the week...

wet sanded off the wax and clear coat on my tail lights. re-applied a different type of clear coat, hopefully i can get the glossy finish this time.

you can wetsand it and then polish paint to get reflective finish. wetsended my bumper yesterday after using touchup paint, then used polish for about a minute with buffer and it looks like it was never sanded. so im sure it can be used with same results on tails. gona try to do it on my headlights today, and probably on 6th gen tail that i got in bad scrached condition

Just got finished putting a custom painted valve cover on my boy'z CM... He wanted the orange one I recently painted. Now I have his old one and will give it some TLC for Piero.....

I reset my ECU in my car today after realized that I should have probably done that at the time I installed my intake, lol. All is well, though. :D

Change the oil, and gave it a quick wash.

Took it to the tuner and picked it up after work very disappointed.

completed the battery relocation project and degreased the engine bay

tomorrow is oil, spark plugs, red wrinkled valve cover, mugen reservoir caps, mugen oil cap

misha: trust me, my paint is done with. especially my front bumper/hood. tried claying/waxing it earlier this week after a wash and the clay got stuck in the chips lol.


owell, doesnt really irk me too much. just gotta get my interior done already.

added window washer fluid and going to finish removing and adding new coolant lines

if its chips then i guess. claying and waxing doesnt do anything, if it has swirls then you need to polish it with buffer(forget about doing it by hand)
can be wetsanded as well since polish can take out 2000grit sand marks

Ordered a TL-S RSB to replace the TL base.

I called shops and found a new tuner.  Going to be scheduling an appointment soon.

painted my battery tie down, fuse box cover, and repainted the intake manifold and park plug cover so its all the same color. worked on the tail lights again, just need to wet sand and buff. did a quick clean up of the interior and trunk.

Finally tinted my windows, had the car inspected and detailed.

i must say that the VHT will look jsut like the type r valve cover for those of you that dont want to spend 180 dollars. the camera might make the color look off but it looks like the Type R wrinkle red valve cover

i painted that Intake manifold a few weeks ago

i wanted the valve cover to be perfect so i taped up the areas where the bolts go and used a xacto to make it round. when it was all said and done i took all of it off and sanded the honda logo and the cover looked jsut like the Type R cover

I met up with Bobsk24 since i was visiting his area for memorial day . did a little cruise around the area and also took lots of photos.

washed the car early in the morning because i was meeting up with julian (07coupeblue).  drove an hour and 30 mins to triple x rootbeer as our meeting spot. took a couple photos around the area. came home and did another car wash. drove to a friends house to see her painted rims, looks real clean. and then i just had a spur of the moment at 10pm to paint my lugnuts (kinda cheap but if i did buy another set of lugs, it would be for color which i could do for 5 bucks.) so we'll see how they turn out and hopefully there only minor chipping when i get them back on.

reinstalled my painted lugs. they dont look that bad, there was some chipping on the sides but for the most part, i just wanted the face or top of the lug to look nice. thats my open wheel lock in case your wondering why one of my lugs look unpainted on the top.

Do the 06-07 Bumper with inspire fogs and a lip. It would be much better that body kit.

+1 It is very very difficult to make a body kit look good on our cars. Our cars have a rounded front end, and most body kits tend to change the body lines for the worse by squaring them off a little at the bottom. An 06-07 bumper with the HFP lip would be a little more expensive but will look better in the long run.

Ordered a new grille for her. Not too fond of OEM nor do I want ASEAN.

The first link you posted is for a lip kit.  Unfortunately, they are showing you an Accord that has an Inspire front end with an authentic Mugen front lip.  That is not what you get.  The second pic in the second link you posted is just another ugly body kit.  If they are trying to pass it off as a replica, they failed horribly.  Honestly, there is never a body kit that I have seen and liked.  OEM still looks the best.

Back on topic now.  I re-installed my McIntosh MC440 and cleaned up some of the wiring in my trunk.

Washed it with some Surf City Pacific Blue Wash and wax, I wasn't overly impressed. I was going to do this as a trial run to see if I like their products, so I dont know if I will be trying any of their other products. I thought my Meguires Gold class did just as good of a job.

Scraped the crap out of my chrome lip on my rim, now i have to track a replacement down , it wont be fun....

Tuned my system a little better tonight and put the glass covers back on my amps.  I cleaned some stuff out of my trunk also.  Tomorrow is going to be the big day.  I may even have pics.

^ Can't wait for the pics. Redid the wiring for my alpine h/u. Trying to figure out how to eliminate the gap from the metra kit and the bottom portion of the factory h/u, and the reason my stupid usb hdd won't work with the alpine.

took my car to one of my local tuner shops for an estimate to fix a couple scratches on the rear of my car.. under 1k for everything =X  thats pretty iffy but i understand the prepping and what not. but i could atleast get a quarter of the whole car painted i bet.

Installed Sylvania Silverstar Ultra 1157A's (running lights/turning signals) in the headlights.... makes a sweet bluish rainbow color in the headlight housings... MUCH brighter

Thanks, it took me like 8 tries and 3 CDs to get this to work, lol. I'm a perfectionist; the first time the logo was misaligned... the second time the picture size was too large so it took like 8 seconds to load the logo... and the last time I got it perfect! Then there was the initial 6 tries to get the navi to load the CD, lol.

^^^ You know you could probably get different accord owners to buy a disc like that from you if you could change the image to their liking...

took off the 06 rear lip (couldnt stand the gaps) i have to adjust it. gave her a wash and ordered a TL-s front sway :))

Gave her and the UA5 a much deserved bathing. The girls are happy now.

change my oil the first time after lowering her. it was a little bit more time consuming jacking her up instead of the usual drive on ramps.

Checked the compression on my car, replaced an alternator on an RSX, and tried to help Keith with a mod.

Washed it, drove it and put it back in the garage afterwards.  Ordered my Takata 4-point Harness and shoulder pads yesterday, will be here middle of next week, WOOT!!

Also detailed interior, and replaced dull/burned out tail light and brake light bulbs with fresh ones, looks like they did when I first bought the car.  I am actually shocked that not a single one of my tail light bulbs, turn signal bulbs or brake lights didn't burn out after 4 full years of use, full season changes and 77,000 miles.

I didn't do this today but I did this all day yesterday.

I washed her, slammed her then raised her a bit. Slammed rides in NYC don't work so I raised her back up a bit. half finger gap is good.

Today I plan on installing my new fogs and hopefuly detail my engine bay.

Blacked out my headlights today. Well, I'm still in the process of doing it, but it still counts.

^Nice Arie... well Billy has been using his skills to upgrade my ride little by litte. Ever since they broke into my ride I have been down on hooking it up but by the way Billy doing it up Ima get back in the game. I can't let sh*t get me down. Right now im on the stock rims probably till next year when I find something I like and in my price range... My next project is to change my 02 sensor and paint my calipers.

Installed an Ipod adapter direct to the ipod! Sounds much better than getting static all the time.  Thanks Billy for the help, i know that damn screw was getting on your nerves dropping where you couldn't reach it lolzzz, next time I will have a magnetic screw driver!

Well today I drove my normal 50 mile roundtrip to work.

 Over the weekend, I drove 3 hours with the family to the Columbus Zoo and spent the weekend up there.
The accord is mildy crowded with luggage and a baby when compared to the '06 Pathfinder in the driveway.

I checked my exhaust for any leaks from the install this weekend and found none, and installed my TSX IM!! I am in love with it!

Found my coolant leak and fixed it.  Pulled the bumper off and removed my headlight to assess the damage from last night.  Pulled the fender out a little bit to make enough room for the headlight to fit properly and put everything back together.  I also talked to my body guy about getting my car fixed and researched the price of replacement parts.

New tires came in last night going to try to get them mounted tonight or tomorrow before the meet.

Removed the FB enclosures, all junk and the factory spare tire for the trunk in order to make extra room for the trip.  

I now have to get one of the PSX-9’s and put it in the trunk.  18’s spare tire for the BBK… “that sucks bolas”

Let's see I painted my Power Steering Fluid cap, my Window Washer Fluid cap and my Brake Fluid cap Lime Green... Looks really nice. Sorry no kodaks. I also filled up on brake fluid. Gotta get some Honda Power Steering fluid tho and change my oil before the meet next week. I bought new car mats as well...

started phase 1 of my project which was using gorilla glue on my side skirts. when i first got the car almost 2 years ago, i curbed jump and it cracked my side skirts which loosened it. took of the side skirts today and realized it was loose because part of the side skirt that clips to the side broke off. so im gluing pieces together. ill probably go over it with bondo to smooth it out. do my primer coats, then base NHBP coats, then clear coats. ill have pics later today.

I installed me some HFP Silverstar's, and some Falken tires. Car feels 100 times better with the new tires. It seriously handled better in the rain than it used to dry. Sorry aobut the shitty pic by the time I got all my stuff squared away it was dark.
