Thanks guys. Not sure about actual gas mileage as yet, but it's rated at 19/23 which i would expect for a 4 cylinder turbo suv that has a little bid of EVO inside it. Honestly, i haven't driven it since the test drive. The lady doesn't want to get out of it lol. It does handle well, in some cases, better than my coupe currently. Suspension is firm but rides comfortably and for the base model, this car has a lot of features.

Thinking I should start a word document to chronicle my upcoming project. Just so I can copy and paste it into a post once it's almost completed. This won't be until around late October or so.  Maybe I should start a count down...hmmm...

Why must you torture? I'm trying to forget! Becuz i has to wait! Lol

Who are you getting to do the dual tb intake manifold? I know a fabricator.

The dual throttle body IM is pretty much complete. We just don't want to put it on the new engine until it's been broken in and tuned. Based on past builds we know that more fuel and air up top are needed. We're bumping the fuel and adding a regulator and a return. This will be supplying 410cc RDX injectors. We've seen where this setup stopped making power around 5.5-6k rpm. This is where the dtb IM comes in, along with Hondata, to help carry the power through to maybe 7k.

Thanks tho, I'm glad that there are more options for fabricators, willing to work on a j-series, out there these days.

Thanks, but Paul's the muscle tho I will be helping out during the swap. It's pretty much all new except for heads (new TL-S cams, valves &springs w/kms retainers), a few castings and a some of the accessories. 

I gotta admit, I'm a little giddy.

We're storing it in the garage tonight so it can be started first thing in the AM. Along with all this I'm replacing lower ball joints, axles, PS pump, radiator hoses and maybe install wicked tuning rear camber kit.

I'm glad to see Paul is still open for business after some of his recent issues.  I can't wait to see how this build turns out. 

Yeah Ike. People just have to exercise some patience. He's up n getting caught up on his back logs now and throwing in a few warranty work in the mix doesn't help either.

Completely different car. I'm still getting use to the xlr8 motor mounts. In order to get the true feeling/response from the car, you have to put up with some vibration at idle especially before it warms up. Tho I expected it, it's still a surprise. As for the sound, cruising it kinda sounds like the j30 at WOT. The PCDs didn't cause any rasp. The overall system does have deep throaty sound to it. I guess that's the monster/beast that I heard so much about. I'm also getting a little tinny noise when the rpm is coming down. It sounds like it's coming from flex section on the j-pipe. I'll check it out and may have to let Richie know. I also have to stop by xlr8 performance to go over why my PS motor mount doesn't line up and my OEM fits with no issue. The clutch will also take a little getting use to. It grabs, some of which is due to it being new, but the 6 puck disc will still grab hard. It's also nice to be driving an unassisted manual car again with the check valve removed from the slave cylinder.

Does the tiny little noise sound kind of like a blow off valve? (For lack of a better description).

If so my v2 PCDs did the same thing coming down from above 3k.

Sounds mire like something rattling in the exhaust, like a ripped muffle baffle.....

Ok then mine was prolly somethin different.   It almost sounded like the back pressure escaping out of the system.

I'll take a closer look at it when we get home and am putting in the grommet.

We are back home now. Had to exercise a lot of restraint  ;D especially when this Genesis Coupe pulled up next to me and down shifted trying to get my attention. Car's running great. It does have a drone at certain rpms under load. May have to look at a better exhaust option later on.

After engraving and filling of the engraving I would throw a few wet coats of duplicolor engine clear coat on it....

So today I got to experience the LSD in the snow. I have to say that I'm impress with how the car handled, even with the increased torque and starting off in first gear.

Nice having 2 wheel drive in the snow isn't it...

Think i may have to brave the cold one of these days to trace down some fuel issues.  Best case i find something with the regulator plumbing, worst case i have to pull the mani to check the injectors.

To rule out the tune, i went back to the original Cal that Paul loaded and it still has an issue starting after a hour.

Progress tracking using VDyno software. This is being used to solely as a means to track gains. Each VDyno run is being done in as similar condition as possible. I'll try to do the same when I put it on an actual dyno. The dyno results will then be compared to the VDyno results so all results can be adjusted accordingly. Results from a dyno maybe lower or higher than VDyno, but from what I've seen, it should be pretty close.

It was 90* with 70%humidity. I was sweating my balls off loading calibrations lol. There maybe another video somewhere out there taken by the owners buddy, but here's one I took. The others, I had my fingers in my ear. Between the exhaust, intake and rollers it was deafening.

I had no expectations really, so yes.  We wanted to compare cals. to see best readings instead of doing it on the street. I also have a street log from the same time to compare to the virtual dyno that I've been using. On a side note, according to the Internet, if I add 12-15% to the Dyno Dynamics readings I'll  have Dyno Jet readings so that's 310+whp.

I think that people assume that all dynos read the same. That's just not true. Even two dynos from the same manufacturer that have been calibrated properly won't read the same. People use dynos as a dick measuring device instead of a tool to measure changes in the tune/parts bolted on.

Exactly. I'm not a number whore. The car pulls hard and will eat my tires if I'm not careful. I'm happy and like to surprise the hell out of people when I hit the gas lol.

Thanks man. It was wifeys first choice. Car gets 25+mpg around town and doesn't require premium gas. We got around 22mpg on the highway from the RDX on premium.

Again these are done with Vdyno with all factors being as similar as possible and was very close to an actual DynoJet. Used to compare effects of changes/mods

Note to the guys with the IM spacer and running 4" intake tubes, be careful how you orient the clamps. They will hit the hood liner if positioned on top.
