Title: How To: Adjust Headlights
Post by: MyNameIsThien on February 07, 2009, 11:32:16 PM
No, not those.  There is only one on each headlight.  You will need:

x1 Phillips Head Screwdriver
x1 Flashlight (Helps you see what you are doing)
x1 Dark Garage or Wait Until Night Time
x1 Wall

-Park your car 25' from the wall
-Turn on your headlights
-Pull on your lever that opens your hood
-Exit your car
-Open your hood, and,  if equipped, use your hood prop rod to secure your hood
-Turn on flashlight
-Shine flashlight down the hole on your radiator cover so you can see in there (There is the letters "UP" and an arrow that shows you which way to turn the screwdriver to make the headlights go up next to this hole)

-Look for the silver metal teeth on the headlight beam adjustment screw(They look like this ^^^^^^)
-Stick the screwdriver in the hole until the teeth on the screwdriver engage the teeth on the headlight beam adjustent screw
-Turn your head and look at the wall (Make sure your legs are not blocking your headlight)
-Use the screwdriver to turn the screw
-Turn the screw until your headlight beam is where you want it.
-Remove screwdriver from hole
-Close hood

Note: Use same procedure to adjust the headlight on the other side too.

Very easy. I did it for my friend's 5th gen and it was a piece of cake. Very useful if you have coilover suspension and are adjusting ride height all the time, like me :D. Thanks Thien

how about adjusting them with hex bolt on back of the headlight? is that the same thing?

this is much easier than trying to reach the hex bolt with retchet, drop it couple times.

Is it the same process for those who have retro's?

Depends on how your projectors are mounted.  Most likely, you're are mounted to the reflector.  If they are, then you can adjust them the same way you would stock halogen housings.
