Title: How To: 03-05 Accord Coupe Fog Light

Run the wire harness along the factory harness.

Run wires off fog harness into the fuse box. You will need to pull the 21 and 12 pin connector as indicated in the OEM instructions.

Here are the 21 and 12 pin connectors removed from the fuse box. To insert the new wires you have to undo the locks on these wire connectors. Use a small flat head screw driver to gently pry the locks off...they pop outwards..be careful they break easily.

New fog harness wires installed in factory harness.

For the I4 this is where you mount the bracket for the relays. Undo this bolt holding in the throttle cable support and reuse it to install the relay bracket. Plug the grey plug from the fog harness into the grey relay, black into black.

Reinstall the bottom cover on the fuse box, install the provided fuse, and you are ready to install the lights themselves.

With the bumper removed, its time to cut-out the plastic inserts. I used masking tape around the opening to help prevent scratches. I used a utility knife and a dremel tool to make nice clean cuts. Take your time with this...there are no "do-overs".

Assemble the fog light mounting brackets.

Mount brackets on bumper opening

Install the fog light housing on bumper

Next reinstall your bumper, and plug-in the power to each fog light.

All is left is to install the switch on the dash. I didn't take any pics of this because its sort-of straight forward, and its really tight laying under the steering column. I can take some pictures if people need them.

Cheers!

Information was transfered from Gen7Accord.com.

No problem at all. I've been trying to find all of the useful stickies and DIYs from the old G7A. I got majority of it, but I am still looking around to see if there are any left.

Any chance you could take pics of the interior harness install? Thats the only thing holding me back as I cannot figure out how to get access and what exact connectors I need to mess with.  Also, I wasn't aware that you had to transfer individual wires from the pin connectors? I have the aftermarket harness and it said it was strictly plug and play.

Technically, it is.  If you're coming to Skippy's when I'm in town, I'll help you out with this.

I can try to get some pics next time I work on my car.  I don't know about the aftermarket kit but the OEM kit requires you do add wires to the existing wire plugs that go into the fuse box.

Installing the switch inside the car is very simple.  There is only 1 wire harness to run. Basically you take off your bottom dash under the steering wheel, plug the harness into the fuse box by the floor...mount a ground wire to a bolt, and attach your switch.

Has anyone tried to install 4 door fog lights on a coupe?

Why? The grill openings are different so the housings won't sit right. You'll have the factory openings on the outside of the fogs and make your front end look retarded. There's other reasons why I'd be against it but those were the first ones to pop into my head.

word, is it possible to install fogs without taking the bumper off

You could if you want to make it more difficult for yourself.  Why does everyone ask that question?

cause i recently just took it off, and i don't want to do it again lol

It's extremely easy to do after the first time. I took my bumper off for the first time awhile ago to blackhouse my headlights, then later took it back off to remove the intake resonator, and I had that bitch off in less than five minutes. Just man up and do it lol

It really only takes like 5-10 minutes to do if you know what you're doing.

yeah it didnt take that long, i just thought it would be possible to do install them w.o. taking it off, and where can i get an oem harness for the fogss

You will have an awful time installing them without taking your bumper off.  There's really no easy way to run the harness.  You will probably have the best luck buying an OEM harness from Honda.  You can try your local dealership, or you can try an online parts site like Bernardi Honda, College Hills Honda, or (uugghhhhh) Majestic Honda.

thankss, and i was looking at my fogs just now and decided it would be eextremely difficult with the bumper still on.

Title: Re: How To: 03-05 Accord Coupe Fog Light

OEM is better than eBay.  You don't know what you're getting on eBay.  It may be good, or it may need to be modified.  Save yourself the headache and get the OEM one.  It's not that expensive.

Ok, just picked up an oem harness, the harness for the switch looks ok, and I got it on ebay, idk if I should replace that as well, (im not made of money mind you)

Title: Re: How To: 03-05 Accord Coupe Fog Light
Post by: timot_one on November 18, 2010, 07:52:52 AM
Well, you can try it.  If you have problems with it or it doesn't work, you can spend the $15 for the OEM harness.

so i installed the switch of the fog light harness today, and i followed the oem directions, but i was left with one female connector with 5 pins unplugged. This is a picture of it. There was no male plug that was the same as it, so i left it unplugged. Am i missing something?

IIRC, there will be a spare female plug to replace the one used in the fuse panel for other accessories that utilize that plug. You should be fine.

I want my fog lights to be on when my motor is on, what wire do I connect them to, since I don't have a wire harness.

Title: Re: How To: 03-05 Accord Coupe Fog Light

Sounds to me like you're trying to do the oldschool, pick up fog lights from any auto parts, straight wire it to the battery install. Since that happens to be the case, you can't use an OEM switch to turn them on or off and you'd have to use any simple toggle/ rocker switch. That is, of course, if you wanted to be able to turn them off without having the key in. Here's a dirty diagram I found with a simple Google search:
If you want to bypass the switch in that diagram, you wire pin 85 from the relay directly to a wire that is hot when your key is turned on. There are a number of options for that. I'll let you do that digging yourself. I've done too much already.

Now, if you want to do the mod properly and keep it semi OEM, purchase the entire harness from Honda and modify the wiring the way its pointed out elsewhere in this subforum. That part I'm DEFINITELY NOT going to find for you.

Thank you for all that information, but i just want to know which fuse i should connect the fogs to so that they're on when the motor is on and off when the motor is off. All i have is one power wire connected to the fogs and i do not want a switch. Which fuse will allow me to do that and will turn off when the car is off

They're supposed to be that way.  The only adjustment you have is vertical.

There is a screw that you will be able to see through the fog light grill when looking at it from the front. It will be near the top on the outside. If you tighten or loosen that, it will adjust the fog light vertically.
