Title: AirBag Suspension Post by: Sparrow on May 12, 2009, 05:04:33 PM I was wondering if anyone has tried this or has it on there car? My brother is putting it on his VW and i've been looking into for the Accord. I have found a kit for it buy ksport but i know you can buy different parts and make your own kit too. I might be able to keep the Tein's and just take the could off and replace them with bag's. It would be a lot cheeper but like i said i still have a lot more stuff to look into, but if i do take em off ill let u get them. more info on bags ---> http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3633416 (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3633416) Title: Re: AirBag Suspension Post by: timot_one on May 12, 2009, 05:56:22 PM I haven't heard abotu ksports air bags, but I talked to a guy that had an air runner suspension a few years ago and he liked it a lot.

Title: Re: AirBag Suspension Post by: timot_one on August 18, 2009, 01:12:23 PM You'll probably be better off getting an Air Runner suspension instead. They're more expensive, but they're also made for your car instead of some universal kit that will most likely have some issues with fittment.
Title: Re: AirBag Suspension Post by: Mike on August 18, 2009, 02:43:54 PM I remember reading some where that these kits have the tendency to leak air alot of times.
Title: Re: AirBag Suspension Post by: Sparrow on November 17, 2009, 09:02:44 AM Ok back to trying to get this air bag setup without spending an arm and a leg. I cant find any setup for the 7th gen's without spending around $4k but that's because people sell the "kit" with the bags compressor and everything else you "need" I know what kind of management i want to run so i don't need a kit. I have been looking for just the bags over strut setups for Honda's. The question i guess, how different is a 6th gen susp to the 7th? I found bags for the 6th and i have been looking stuff up online and in Alldata and they look very similar. I'm probably wrong but let me get your thoughts. Thanks!

I have not tired this myself but, i've read about it on V6P.
Title: Re: AirBag Suspension Post by: timot_one on November 17, 2009, 11:39:55 AM Have you tried contacting the manufacturers of these "kits" to find out if they sell just the suspension components?

Yes. KSport says they only sell the kit and i can't get any answer about the Air runner but i doubt I can just get the bags because they are from japan. I also have been in touch with AirLift and Airassisted. The best i get is to by the 6th gen stuff and mod them to fit the 7th gen's. I also have been posting on the vwvortex in the air forums and i really can't get anywhere. I looked up fitting 6th gen on 7th gen on v6p but i get mixed answers. So right now im kinda stuck unless i spend $4k+ Title: Re: AirBag Suspension Post by: slipkord on November 17, 2009, 12:16:31 PM http://www.airbagit.com/product-p/fbs-hon-14-kit3.htm (http://www.airbagit.com/product-p/fbs-hon-14-kit3.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
I know nothing about the topic but figured I'd throw in my 2c for what it's worth. I've heard some good things about Airbagit from the mini community. It's worth a shot, considering for PnP it's only $1,800 |
