Title: Tough day.... Post by: DV8mAn on April 29, 2009, 11:22:41 PM Sorry guys, have to vent. Today the wife had half of her thyroid removed after a "enlarged node" was found. It was a very stressful 12 hr ordeal and when i saw her in recovery with a hose coming out of her neck I almost cracked. Luckily, no cancer and she can come home tomorrow.
I wish it was me in the bed cause it would be less painful than watching her struggle. Killing soldiers (cracking some brews) now to ease the pain. Life's not fair... Haven't felt like this since my 3 yr old spent 4 days and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital for a suspected bone infection. I get emotional when my family is in pain. Thanks for reading my rant. Post by: v6sicksspeed on April 30, 2009, 10:32:35 AM we're here for you man - she'll be home before you know it. my wife spent a week and two surgeries in the hospital last year because one of her kidneys wasnt filtering properly, etc. it was a total nightmare but thank god she's okay. its a nightmare when its happening but you will get through it together.

A nurse was here for my nephew (7 months), and they were shoving tubes down his throat and nose to clean out his lungs! Poor fucking kid. Any way I hope your wife is better and I'll add a special prayer for your family to remain healthy and strong!

The SAC (Supreme Allied Commander or wife) is home today. We are hoping the drain tube comes out tomorrow. Not cancerous is the important thing. 2-3 weeks of rehab and healing start.

Title: Re: Tough day.... Post by: Latin2nr on May 02, 2009, 03:48:32 PM I know what your going through my friend, 2 years ago my wife noticed some greenish fluid stains on her bra, to make a long story short they removed 21 limph nodes from under her arm pit, 7 were cancerous.
She had a tumor removed from her breast which was also cancerous, an MRI revealed she had 5 lesions on her liver. We went through the chemo thing together, the scans, the tests, the pain and everything else associated with this BULLSHIT illness. It's been 2 years, my wife is a strong girl, although she'll be on meds for the rest of her life it doesn't slow her down, she's taken up power walking, go figuire. Like I said, she's a trooper and we're doing good, everything is stable now, not getting better but not getting worse either. Hang in there brother, things are what they seem for a reason, life throws us curves and all you have to do is hit it outta the park...Be strong. You and the Mrs. are in our prayers. If I ever have to go through that kind of shit with my wife and/ or kids, I'd lose it. I did go through something similar when my wife went through intense pain a while back and had to have her gall bladder removed. At least what your wife is going through is not cancerous. We're with you bro.
