Title: Winters and your Suspension: Coilovers or Neuspeed Supercup Post by: Asim on April 27, 2009, 11:49:58 AM Now lets start, I live in Canada with brutal winters. My goal before was to have coilovers because they are adjustable height and stiffness (height more important than stiffness to me)... but I hear they seize because of gunk and winter.
So my other thought is Neuspeed Supercup which is a little bit adjustable. If winter comes around would it be easier to switch to OEM suspension each winter with Neuspeed kit rather than buying coilovers? EDIT: Winter is important because depending on my terms in school, I'll be driving alot in the Winter. This car is my DD Title: Re: Winters and your Suspension: Coilovers or Neuspeed Supercup Post by: timot_one on April 27, 2009, 02:26:13 PM You can use coilovers in the winter, but you have to maintain them properly. If you're lazy and just don't take care of them, get the SuperCup kit and call it a day.

In the other thread it was stated that should regularly apply anti-seize Title: Re: Winters and your Suspension: Coilovers or Neuspeed Supercup Post by: Sworkhard on April 27, 2009, 03:24:44 PM If you purchase all the hardware that you would normally transfer from the oem suspension so that you don't need to dissasemble the oem suspension, It shouldn't be particularly difficult to switch out the suspension every november. Definately will be easier than trying to adjust siezed coilovers.

What type of general hardware are you talking about? Are you referring to the top mounts? Title: Re: Winters and your Suspension: Coilovers or Neuspeed Supercup Post by: timot_one on April 28, 2009, 11:43:38 AM Yes.

Yes. i think everything else you need is included. i'm currently working on installing my supercup kit Title: Re: Winters and your Suspension: Coilovers or Neuspeed Supercup Post by: Skippy on May 02, 2009, 10:26:55 AM Everything else is indeed included in the kit. Top hats are commercially available if I remember correctly, and you can assemble the supercup kit and swap between suspensions very easily that way.
Title: Re: Winters and your Suspension: Coilovers or Neuspeed Supercup Post by: Asim on May 23, 2009, 06:21:56 PM According to hondapartsdeals or majestic honda, it seems to be cheaper to buy the OEM top hat, rather than one from heeltoe or etc

I would suggest buying a new set of top hats in case you ever have the need to swap out to your stock suspension. This will make it infinitely easier to do it yourself in your driveway if need be. No spring compressor, no hassles!

How low would you say the supercup kit is at the highest perch? I wonder because the springs say 2" front and rear, but with 14mm adjustment per perch, but which perch do they make 2" at? Thanks! Title: Re: Winters and your Suspension: Coilovers or Neuspeed Supercup Post by: Blackhawk on June 03, 2009, 04:35:24 PM I saw the Supercupt kit going for $699.00 shipped. Is that a normal price? I thought it was normally $599.00 shipped. Hmmm
Title: Re: Winters and your Suspension: Coilovers or Neuspeed Supercup Post by: Skippy on June 03, 2009, 06:56:58 PM Wow I guess Neuspeed took notice to all of these I've been "selling" for them and jacked the price $100. That price is accurate as per their website.

use tsxrocks coupon code for another 40$ off only problem for me is shipping it to Canada is expensive and to Buffalo is such a hassle (waste of a day + gas... but is slightly cheaper) Title: Re: Winters and your Suspension: Coilovers or Neuspeed Supercup Post by: dotLK on June 17, 2009, 05:03:01 PM Got my cup kit today.
When you did your install, did you have to cut the bump stop? Or was the OEM one just fine? I'm planning to tackle this on the weekend. Thanks |
