Title: Re: car ramps Post by: ROLO on April 17, 2009, 12:00:15 PM Looks good but price is to high...
Title: Re: car ramps Post by: driveaccord on April 17, 2009, 12:11:23 PM ill have to agree with everyone....these are a bit steep in price for my blood but they look like a good product
Title: Re: car ramps Post by: cna on April 17, 2009, 12:39:19 PM for that price you can make your own custom ones
Title: Re: car ramps Post by: Abailey4 on April 17, 2009, 03:20:33 PM I got some from Pep Boys about a month ago for around $30 I think but I dont know if the Accord can go on em yet, they're perfect for the Sentra though.
Title: Re: car ramps Post by: mnkyman on April 17, 2009, 06:30:33 PM This was discussed in my local forums, but more for unloading lowered cars from trailers: http://www.houston-imports.com/forums/s ... p?t=519485 (http://www.houston-imports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=519485)
And this is the reason why you shouldn't use 2x4's for loading cars lol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43A4F_78Eu4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43A4F_78Eu4) From what i've read on my local forum, apparently these are really nice ramps and are light weight as well, but if your just loading onto a rack (like in the OP's link), then 2x4's seem fine Title: Re: car ramps Post by: driveaccord on April 17, 2009, 06:43:30 PM omg!!
Title: Re: car ramps Post by: wtcii on April 17, 2009, 08:30:01 PM I built some that were 40 inches long that gave a 8" lift. It was able to accommodate a car that is 5" off the ground.
We bolted a 10x2 to the bottom after the pics and some suggestions. They cost a total of $40.00 They are very secure and will not do what the Porsche did. Haven't gotten around to making a new pair yet. Title: Re: car ramps Post by: Skippy on April 20, 2009, 04:02:08 PM I got a set of Rhino ramps at pep boys like 5 years ago and never let me down while I was at home...now my dad uses them for his trucks :)

http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/News/mwramps/index.htm That's basically the same thing that I did except mine are higher and I mitered the edges to make the transition from board to board smoother. Title: Re: car ramps Post by: 05AccordV6 on April 28, 2009, 10:16:20 AM or you could get the Rhino ramps I have, which were like $40 bucks, they elevate the car 10" and have a very low incline so most lowered cars can get on NP
Title: Re: car ramps Post by: driveaccord on April 28, 2009, 12:33:10 PM ^^^do you have a link?? thx in advance
Title: Re: car ramps Post by: CrackerTeg on April 28, 2009, 12:53:31 PM You can get the Rhino ramps at any auto parts store. I got mine for about that price 4 years ago.
Title: Re: car ramps Post by: Fenix on April 28, 2009, 02:38:58 PM i got my rhinos @ walmart

Title: Re: car ramps Post by: 05AccordV6 on April 28, 2009, 09:06:18 PM Got mine at Autozone for $34.99 i think.

I wish mine had a lower incline cuz they're perfect for the Sentra but when I tried them with the Accord a week ago the front lip hits the ramp about 6" before it gets to the tire. Layin down a 2x4 on each side may do the trick though which is what I had to do in order to get enough clearance for my floor jack. Title: Re: car ramps Post by: timot_one on April 30, 2009, 01:07:02 PM I usually have 2x4's or 2x6's in case floor jacks aren't low enough.
Title: Re: car ramps Post by: 05AccordV6 on May 01, 2009, 05:11:24 PM Tim, if your car is anything like it was last weekend, I don't think any jack with a higher profil than 2"'s is getting under your car, LOL.
Title: Re: car ramps Post by: timot_one on May 01, 2009, 11:27:31 PM My floor jack fits just fine under my car.
