Title: mixed 7th gen with 7.5 gen lip kits
Post by: fabulous010 on April 11, 2009, 09:50:47 PM
i have the 03-05 front lip on my coupe. i now want the 06 rear lip. and i can only go with the 06 side skirts, because the 05 side skirts would cover the I-VTEC decal. does anyone have pics of the 05 front with 06 sides???

you worrying about decal? get another decal and put it on 05 side skirt "flare" or get rid of it completely.

be carefull about rear lip couse bumper might be little different. of if you have money to blow do 06 rear conversion

What's a "kip kit"?  Ohh yeah, fuck an i-VTEC decal.  Those only belong on Civic Si's, and even then I would take it off.

There was a thread not too long ago about putting the 06-07 rear lip on the 03-05's and someone posted a link and pic from v6p that somebody had done.  I never got around to looking at the link but I dont think it was that hard of a install.

i know that the sides are exact fit. but the rear you might need to heat gun it... mostly i just want to see how the 05 lip flows with 06 sides

Nobody comes to mind as far as mixing our front lips with the 7.5's side skirts. I could be wrong though. Get somebody to photochop it for you.

has anyone ever seen or put a 7.5 front lip on a 7th gen coupe? reason being my bumper is cracked to hell and the crack is growing as the days go by. the 7.5 lip would cover the crack completely

I haven't seen it, but anything is possible.  The problem you're going to have is that the crack isn't going to get any better with the band aid solution.

If you are going to cover the crack up anyway I would use some "bumper repair" essentially glue. Should be able to get it at any autoparts store.

JT had the 03-05 front end with the 06-07 side skirts & full rear end on his Accord and i have to say it looked pretty amazing.  He got rear ended so his original 03-05 rear and side skirts were trashed anyway, so he talked to the body shop and had them do the full 06-07 rear end/sides conversion.

It did look really good but I don't know if the newer side skirts will be a direct fit, and the rear bumpers look different to me but I have never actually tried to test fit anything.

i know the bumper isnt going to get any better but i think im gonna give the 7.5 lip a try. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to make the lip fit right? ill report back when all is said and done..

Really?  $250 for shipping?  I paid $200 for shipping for 2 front lips shipped from Vancouver, BC.  They're really overcharging for shipping now.  That's fucked up.
