Title: Gen's Coupe Transformed (Fresh Daytime pics)
Post by: Milan on April 09, 2009, 10:51:34 PM
With the weather being so nice today I finally decided it was time to throw on the summer tires I got a couple weeks ago.  Since I had the day to myself I thought I would see how difficult it would be to throw on the Neuspeed Race springs I got for Gen when I bought the Koni Supercup kit.  I ordered the V6 springs since I was going to use the Eibach Pro-Kits on the Konis for those of you wondering.

Well, after about seven hours I am happy to say that I was able to swap the springs.  I ran into a few difficulties thanks to Michigan's wonderful snowy roads and the salt that comes with it but nothing that some brute force couldn't fix lol.

EDIT: I deleted the previous pictures because they were crap.

Or grind/sand the center caps until you get that Nissan logo off.

looks good but looks like front stick out too much. any specs on wheels?

Misha, specs are 18x8 +30.  While they stick out ever so slightly, it's not very apparent and there's no rubbing at all front or rear.  This kind of surprised me considering the aggressive offset.

Centercaps are staying until I can find an acceptable solution! :p

Bump for quality pics, deleted crappy old ones.

If you weren't as slammed as you are I would say you're joking but you probably just forgot how much of a 4x4 our cars are stock.  She's lowered on Neuspeed Race Springs.  Granted it still needs time to settle but the car is probably 1.5-2 finger gaps all around.  Stock is about 4-5 finger gaps.

Milan I still contend that 99% of your photographs could be used in honda brochures.  That license plate is PRICELESS! GREAT JOB AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! And get some koni's for Gen's car now!!! Then when you buy THAT supercup kit, order it for the I4 so you can drop your car that full 2.25"!

stock wheels are 17x7 with 55 offset

this means wheels are 20.32mm wide. stock are 17.78mm

so it means wheels stick out 38mm/1.5inches more then stock

Haha!  I know, it must be hard to remember what stock height is when you're dumped 5 inches lol!  All good man!

We got the 7.5 front-end in October last year after someone turned into Gen when she was pulling out of school.

I really like the clean look right now, I never thought I'd say this but we might not put the lip on it.

Thanks a lot!  I agree, the coupe can handle aggressive offset much better than the sedan.

Something about Nissan wheels on a Honda doesn't sit well with me. But it does look nice and again I admire your photography skills. Maybe I'll like them more when they lose the Nissan symbol ;)

What size tires are on those? and how much is her car lowered? and last but not least how much negative camber is it sporting roughly?

Uh-oh.  I see where Mike is going with this....and I approve.

Tires are 225/40/18.  Car should be dropped 2.25" in the front and 1.75" in the rear but the driver's front seems to be sitting pretty high still even after almost three weeks.  I'm thinking of getting in touch with Neuspeed to see if this is normal or if the spring is defective.

Not sure on the camber, but it's very noticeable.  I know it needs a camber kit but so far there's no noticeable wear on the tires and I think it looks badass.

Did you have to stretch the tires to keep from rubbing? the reason I ask is I have a set of +30 gramlights i want to use but they will not work without rubbing with a normal tire... and I am iffy about stretching tires

Not really.  Only the Dunlop looks stretched.  The other three Pirellis look fine.  What kind of tires do you have on the rims now?

right now they are wrapped in brand new 245/45-17 Fuzion ZRi's that I am going to have taken off and sell to buy a thinner tire

Hmm...yeah, that would be pushing it.  After we get the coupe aligned, I'm pretty sure that we will have to get the fenders rolled to prevent them from rubbing.  It's a tight squeeze right now but absolutely no rubbing.

Post by: exelr8 on April 29, 2009, 01:12:21 AM
a 225 45 should be stretched enough to keep me from rubbing before and after my fenders are rolled the 245s will fit after they are rolled but i see no point in them sitting around longer than needed

+1 on checking the alignment. That rear camber looks nasty. I lost a pair of rear tires because my rear camber got knocked out of alignment WITH a rear camber kit installed. I'd imagine you are in the -3.0 range there.
