Title: After pulling the front bumper... Post by: Jellynuts on March 14, 2009, 09:49:33 PM Sorry, I wasn't sure where to put this, it didn't seem like a bolt on question as it doesn't have anything to do with the k motor, but anyway...
I pulled out the front bumper today, and this slab of black metal fell out. Is it really necessary? Can I keep this off? Title: Re: After pulling the front bumper... Post by: Fenix on March 14, 2009, 09:51:21 PM is it kinda square looking, bout the size of 1 1/2 of your hand, fairly heavy for its size?
Title: Re: After pulling the front bumper... Post by: Milan on March 14, 2009, 10:34:16 PM Sounds like the bumper weight. If you have a lip you don't need it. If you don't...you still really don't need it. It's supposed to prevent your bumper from buffeting in high winds.

Title: Re: After pulling the front bumper... Post by: Slammedk24 on March 14, 2009, 11:26:20 PM I found out the other day when I had my bumper off that there is a big metal block (5x2x2") and it weighs about 8 pounds. Its bolted to the inside of the bumper support, I just took it out, along with the bumper weight and the intake resonator

That's why we have an "Exterior Styling" forum. We have more than just K Series forums here. Quote from: "Jellynuts" I pulled out the front bumper today, and this slab of black metal fell out. Is it really necessary? Can I keep this off? It could be anything. Do you have pictures of it? I agree with the other assumptions that it could be your bumper weight. But assumptions are the mother of all fuck ups, so I'm not going to give advice until I know what you're talking about. That metal piece could be anything. Please post a pic of it so we can confirm what it is and give you proper advice. Title: Re: After pulling the front bumper... That is the bumper weight that you would remove when you put on a front lip. You don't need it. You've just achieved Stage 1 Type R weight reduction, yo! Title: Re: After pulling the front bumper...
