Title: Steering Wheel leather deterioration
Post by: gargantula99 on May 22, 2013, 08:10:45 PM
So my the fake "leather" on my steering wheel is falling apart. I guess after 7 years of being man-handled, it's had enough.  Any recommendations as to what should be done to remedy the situation? Is replacement my only option?

It's cracked, peeling and dry between say 9:00 o'clock and 3:00 o'clock. So basically the whole upper half.

Maybe I should moisturize my hands more often?

:handjob:

Yeah... mine was like that too.  Maybe try a conditioner? It may be too late but worth a shot.

Either replace the wheel or get one of those stitch on leather wraps.

That's what I feared. I'm not a fan of doing what z said bc of the fact that it already has a stock stitched on leather wrap. This shit sucks. Anybody know how much a new wheel is going to run me?

$225 from Honda.  You may want to contact Beaver's Salvage in NC.  They specialize in Honda and Acura parts.  I've purchased from them before and was happy with what I received.
