Title: Re: Video: Finally got my coilovers on! Post by: timot_one on December 08, 2012, 03:43:05 PM Just be sure to keep the threads clean and lubricated. Winters will cause the aluminum adjustment nuts to seize on the steel threads. Ask me how I know...
Title: Re: Video: Finally got my coilovers on! Post by: DreaminAccord on December 08, 2012, 04:32:25 PM I thought that the Teins were coated to prevent seizing? What d'you suggest tim, maybe some anti-seize on the threads?
Title: Re: Video: Finally got my coilovers on! Post by: CrackerTeg on December 08, 2012, 04:47:20 PM The Basics aren't. IIRC, only the Flex for the TSX's are teflon coated. Actually, let me rephrase that. I've only heard of the TSX Flex lineup being teflon coated. I don't know about the rest of Tein's lineup.
Title: Re: Video: Finally got my coilovers on! Post by: DreaminAccord on December 08, 2012, 05:36:57 PM Damn. My thread section is zinc coated - just looked it up on Tein's site. So weekly car washes and anti-seize it is...lol
Title: Re: Video: Finally got my coilovers on! Post by: DreaminAccord on December 08, 2012, 06:14:45 PM Ha, I actually just read a lot of folks on different forums duct tape their threads after anti-seizing it. No sticky residue from the tape b/c it comes off with the anti-seize in the Spring and leaves the threads looking brand new. Might have to utilize the ol' duct tape!
