So like the title says I bought a 05 TL last night! Its black with black leather and has 34k miles on it! Ill post pics tonight but I can't believe I got it last night I just went to look at it and ended up taking it home! I still have the accord but it will be going back soon. But I still have a Honda!

Well the accord hasn't been turned back to stock yet. May start this weekend on that..
As for the parts I'm going to be selling the springs and possibly the front lip but that's only if the bumper isn't to bad under it. I dono about the hid's yet cause I'm going to see if I can make them work in the TL, If they don't work ill be selling them. I also have to see if I like my rims on it, if not those are going bye bye too!
I just can't wait to start doing stuff to it! I'm already going insane cause its not lowered and I've only had it for 2 days now lol its just going to be sad to see the accord back to stock

as for the front lip guys im not sure if i can sell it yet. if the bumper is fucked under it im going to have to keep it on cause i dont feel like repainting the bumper just to turn the car back in.  im going to try to take it off tomorrow and see how it looks so ill let ya know!

i know im sad to take it apart... its going to be so weird driving it around stock since i gotta take the TL back to get the front bumper repainted and the front drivers side fender fixed this coming week. maybe ill leave it as it is till i get the TL back.

If all you do is replace the stock bulb with a 10k bulb your output will be diminished.  4300K gives the purest, closest to natural light.

Milan speaks the truth.  Your not going to be able to use the same kit you used on your accord because your TL uses D2s bulbs not the 9006 on your accord.  Your probably just not used to their being any color on the road.  With 10k bulbs your going to be pretty darn blue and produce several hundred less lumen's then your stock Tl's 4300k bulbs.  If you wanted to add more color to your headlights I'd suggest 6k bulbs at max.  Can't wait to see how you start to mod your TL.

Well that answers that question and the HID's from the accord will be for sale also! I'll probably get 10k's for the TL again just because i like the way they look, I'm sure I could get used to the TL headlights but going from a headlight that is blue as all hell to one that has like no color is going to take some time!

First thing for the TL is tint, I'm going to go 35% all around and possibly something real light on the front windshield not sure yet if i will or not.. probably shouldn't but it would look sweet

So i left the TL at the dealership and they are reversing the payment tomorrow. I was told that the car was done and that I can and pick it up, and when I got there my buddy was already there that does body work for a living and just looked at me with a pissed off look on his face. When I went and saw the car the fender looked like shit the dent wasnt fixed all the way there were paint runs on it and the bumper was still out of line with the car and had overspray on it.  The fucking manager then sat there and lied to my face and tried telling me the dent was on top of the fender when clearly it was on the lower part next to the bumper and that they werent fixing the bumper when they told me they were and that I was making it all up. All I know is that they are a bunch of fucking assholes and I will never step foot in that dealership again but the throw the fucking keys at them...
So I guess im back to square 1 with looking for a car so much for trying to stay local and keep the money local fuck them im going as far as I can now to find a damn TL!

Im sure he did because he kept trying to say that it was a great job and all kinds of other bs. After all this happened though and I was talking to a few friends I found out that this dealership screwed them over too. A friend of mine bought a car from there and loan was done and everything, she went up there to give them her car cause she was trading it in and the car she bought was sold! the manager told her that someone offered them more money so they sold it, I dont know how they even come close to thinking thats ok but evidently taking care of their customers isnt number 1 for them!

I'd go back and ask to take a different car out for a test drive and tear the shit out of it.  Just start ripping through the gears and roasting the tires with the sales person in the car.

Go test drive an Lexus IS350 and get it. My dad was out test driving the new RX so I went to sit in one and it was AMAZING. I just sat there for literally 15 minutes. Good Luck finding another car though!

She's looking to buy a used TL I doubt an IS350 is in her price range. They are wonderful car's however.

You can get an 06 for around 25k. I dont know how much a TL cost. Even try the IS 250, you can get s six speed. Just a suggestion, but good luck with what ever you get!

i'd contact the Better Business Bureau and rip them to shit. with this economy you'd think they'd be bending ass backwards for you.

A 1st Gen TSX would be a very nice upgrade.  I love the TL Type S, but I would take a TSX.

I'm kindof torn between the 2. The TSX would be a smarter decision since I can get one for cheaper and the gas milage is better but I just like the TL's better!

I actually like the TSX better... Either way you will be happy!

Thing is Ash, when you really aren't looking all that hard, it'll fall in your lap. Kinda happened to me when I bought my CM. I was actually in the market for an 08 Fit at the time. Who knew?

Ya I know. I didnt  plan on buying the TL I just bought go figure! All i wanted to do was go look at it and drive it to make sure it was really the kindof car i wanted to be looking for. Same thing happend when I got my accord too I went in to see about leasing a civic cause I was getting sick of not being able to find a prelude that I liked and I had already sold my mustang like a month earlier. Needless to say I'm really happy i got the accord but it's weird how things happen for sure!

+1 I had no intentions of buying my 7th gen. I was actually at the dealer to test drive a 335i, and drove the accord and fell in love with it.

So I got the mail today and there is a payment for the TL.... Does anyone else find this odd seeing that the loan was cancelled and i have it in writing.  It just keeps getting better!! to bad the financing guy at the dealer is gone for the night so I have to wait till tomorrow to ream his ass out, this has just been a car deal from hell!!

It may not be abnormal, they very well could have mailed it out the first day.

Damn Ash. This shit makes my blood boil. Same thing happened to me when I bought my Accord, they repainted my fenders and doors after I bought the car and it came out looking like a 5 year old did it in a sandbox. Twice. Needless to say the 3rd time I went back I tore their front door off the hinges and pushed the managers laptop of his fucking desk. Felt good.

From past experience I decided that the next time I'll be buying a car I'll drive 500+ miles IF it's exactly what I fucking want.

I had this car on a 24 month lease from mid 2006 to mid 2008, I returned the fuckin thing as fast as I could, it had all sorts of little shitty ass problems.   Lexus Reliability fuckin blows these days, I won't get into the issues, but DO NOT get the IS350 from the first year of production, HORRIBLE experience, my car spent 8 monthes in the shop with a variety of safety and braking issues.  

Ashley, good luck getting the TL, I know of a few being sold nearby for very very good deals from people who lost there jobs in finance and need to sell to pay rent. PM me specs your looking for if you'd like and I can send you the listings we have around here, they are everywhere for sale by me.  May be worth the savings to take the 5 hour trip to NY to get it.

Just one quick example, guy was selling an 06 with Nav and 31k miles on it for like 16,000 flat, great practially mint condition, still under warranty, clean title, etc.

Thats odd because since 1998 my dad has purchased 14 Brand New Lexus cars and SUVs. We have never had a single problem with any of them. We had a brand new SC 430 and had some problems with the tires but that has been it. We Currently have a 2008 LS460, 2009 RX 350, and 2000 RX300 and no problems.... must have been a lemon. We dont keep them long but the shortest we have had one was about 24 months, it was the RX400H. Didnt like the Hybrid aspect as much as we thought we would. Saying Lexus reliability sucks is an ignorant statement in my opinion, not trying to be a douche. I think I might know something about the quality of Lexus with the given credentials.

Back on Topic. Im sure I would feel the same way if I sat in a TL or TSX, but I havent. I love the way the new ones look except the TL, and the previous gen looks great. Good Luck!

I could see how it could be contrued that way, I was loyal to Toyota/Lexus, but every car I've owned from either company has been the same issues, poor brakes, CEL's for no reason at all, I had a Camry and Avalon, both of which had the brakes fail COMPLETLY, one resulted in a very bad accident, the other resulted in a freeway runoff (I filed a lawsuit against Toyota Motor Corporation based on injuries suffered in the accident, and based on the fact that they tried repairing the Camry on 23, yes 23 seperate occasions and never could, the avalon was in 10 times as well for the same issues which never got satisfactorily remedied.)  My IS 350 had chattery brakes to say the least, the ABS engaged with a mind of its own, and one of the seatbelt tensioners failed in mine, I probably had a Lemon in the IS350, but the damn car had multiple CEL's, the safety issues, and was not on par with a car that I expected for the nearly 40,000 pricing.  In comparison the Accord has had some very minor BS with twice the mileage.  Just needed to clarify it for you because I don't need you thinking I am lumping the company for some stupid reason, Multiple bad/life endangering situations or experiences will drive anyone away from any company.  Also the Camry, Avalon and IS350 remained mechanically stock, so modifications had zero to do with it.  

Anyways off the issue of the 350, The 3rd Gen TL's and 1st Gen TSX's are both gorgeous vehicles, and I'd love either one, I'm looking into a TSX to be my daily, we will see.

The bad part is that I got a speeding ticket in it today... the spedo really throws you off from being in a accord because 0 starts really low so when your going like 80  you think your going oh like 55... so needless to say the popo got me going 84 in 65 with flippen dealer plates cause I was on my way home from work then up to the dealer to see what they figured out with the loan.  Which isn't even done, so they told me to just keep the TSX and they will call me,  I've never been to a dealer that is just like take the car and we'll call you this week but it works for me nothing like a extra long test drive!

Great pickup!!!, plus it'll be great on gas, especially when it gets hot out and it spikes back up to insane summer prices, congrats, the TSX is a phenomenal car, very little complaints, hence why I want one as my daily, money permiting, this year.

Thanks! its not 100% final yet but hopefully in the next few days I'll know more, I told them I wont go over a certain payment so hopefully they come through! If not they have a ton of TSX's and TL's on the lot used so I'll be able to find one!

Well the car still isn't mine yet... they are having a hard time getting me a loan... but they were able to get me approved for a brand new one and to lease one that his alot higher of a payment go figure?!?! and my bad luck doesnt end there the fucking check engine light came on in the damn car today, it says check emission system.  I sweare I'm just not supposed to buy a car!!!

How the hell did you get approval for a brand new one and not get approved for the used one? That doesn't make any sense to me. I had a harder time getting approved for that Fit I was trying to get into than my Accord. And they both cost the same.

I think its because the accord is a lease. I was approved by Honda financial which is where the lease is thru. It sucks too cause I would get another lease but I can't cause I so much just getting to work. So I would be way way over seeing its almost 19k miles a year just getting to work

It's easier to get approved for a new car because it is worth more if they have to repo and resell it. Ashley wouldn't do that but, alot of people in this country would, and that makes it harder to get loans for us honest folk!!!

But for some reason in the back of my mind I think I'll be taking it back tonight. Dealer called me today finally. They cant get me approved for the 06 TSX without 20% down, but I can lease a new one for 400 a month with 18k miles a year. But thats a no can do cause I do that just going to work and back. So I was pretty much bummed for the rest of the day but on my way home the dealer called me back and said they got me approved for a 05 TSX with 34k miles for the same payment about (whatever that means).  If they ever call me back again I am going to go check it out, the salesman thinks it black interior they just took it in on trade and said it is 5sp (which is code for automatic im guessing ) but the miles are alot better than the one I'm driving right now so it's worth it I guess.  So I'll see what happens tonight but by the looks of it I'll have the 06 TSX for another night which is fine I'll keep driving it for free lol

Because when you're riding around in the car it means you have a reason to come back whether it be to sign up or give the car back.  Majority of customers are so flakey that sometimes when we get them approved it's nearly impossible to get them back in the door for whatever reason so us as a dealer has to create a situation to MAKE you come back.

So I bought a car! I got the 05 tsx. Its basically the same as the 06 but with less miles!! I get it in like a week cause they have to put new tires and brakes and run it through inspections because the bank has to have it certified!

So I took the springs and HID's off the accord yesterday I can't believe how high my car is now.  It's so sad to look at it in my driveway.. I'm really going to miss the accord as much as I'm excited about the TSX (I know its basically the same but then again it's so different!) I just wish I could keep both!!

Misha or Tim, doesn't the TSX have an A Spec option? I know the 3rd gen TL does so I'd imagine the TSX does as well.

there is oem lip kit which usualy comes with aspec option, but never heard of it on tsx though

I've seen an A spec kit on a tsx it looks pretty good. In fact there was one on Craigs' list in MA not to long ago.

I really like the Kenstyle except for those NY-style front bumper pads.  That totally kills it!

So I actually think I'm going to go with the stock lip when I get one.  I dont really care to much for the other ones but we'll see what happens!

are you gona covert it to euro R accord? (aka removing acura badges and stuff)

I'm going to keep all the badges on for now.  Eric was trying to get me to put Honda badges on but I dono, maybe down the road.

Well we tried to lower it today but that didnt go so well. Forgot that I dont have a fucking lug key cause the dealership never gave me one! So my buddy that works at Honda is going to bring the tool home that will take off the lugs tomorrow so I'll get it lowered hopefully tomorrow and get my rims on. Other than that hopefully if the guy isnt booked I'm going to go get my windows tinted next week. and I have to order my intake and a new valve cover so I can paint it and I'm going to paint the grill all black.  Other than that I think thats it for the time being.  I want to get a lip kit but thats going to have to wait for a little bit.
