Title: Hi, I'm new here. Post by: mschumacher on August 15, 2012, 10:08:54 AM About Me:
Real Name: Pranav Location: Bombay, India Occupation: Building race engines and developing electronics for racing Interests: All kinds of engines, Formula 1, music About My Car: Model: 7th Gen Accord V6 Color: White Engine: J30A4, bone stock currently Tranny: AT :'( Future Plans: 6MT swap Hi, I'm Pranav and I'm addicted to spending shitloads of money on my car LOL. I'm 25, living in India. My first car was a Honda City 3rd Gen. That engine was the first I laid my hands on. A few years of work on mine and friends cars, and working with some newly made friends through the local scene. I was invited to be the Assistant Technical Director for a racing team that was entering in the topmost level of motorsport in India in the Indian Touring Cars Championship. I was going to work under my mentor, in a team made of just 6-7 guys. In our first year of participation, we placed 4th overall. After being exposed to road racing, I decided I had to give it a shot myself. So the last year has been spent preparing for that. One more year to go before I participate in the championship as my goal was to enter in 2013 since I'd given my previous team a promise of not competing against them for 2 years. My primary field of work is designing electronic parts for racing. I currently have a few concepts in the pipeline that might see the light of day sometime in the next 6 months. I'm my own boss, so to speak. Glad to be a part of this forum and looking forward to having a lot of fun with you guys. Cheers. Title: Re: Re: Hi, I'm new here. Title: Re: Hi, I'm new here. Post by: mschumacher on August 15, 2012, 10:33:00 AM Sorry man, but that is way beyond my skills. I am more into things that work with the ECU. For example, I am developing a traction control system for old Honda Civics that will take wheel speeds of all 4 corners, do the math and figure out if a wheel is losing traction. The system then sends a signal to the Honda ECU running Neptune (Similar to a Hondata S300) that will retard ignition timing and consequently reduce power going to the wheels and regain traction. As soon as the front wheels regain traction, the board will send a signal to allow full power to the engine.
Here are a couple of pictures that I'd like to share. (http://i.imgur.com/FCrnq.jpg) That was the team car for 2011, the team called Tiger Sport India. I'm in the driver's seat going through engine datalogs with my mentor and the team's technical director. While in the pits at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, India. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kari_Motor_Speedway (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kari_Motor_Speedway) (http://i.imgur.com/k12Pq.jpg) Here's the car at the team HQ with newer spec headers being installed for a dyno run.
