I'll post to show interest in this, but sometime in April the whole scheduling system is changing at my job.  I won't know what my shifts will be until a few weeks from now, so I  can't commit to anything yet.

I won't be able to do the 11th Chino. As far as the 18th goes, if this is the day we do this, is anyone willing to let me crash at their place the Friday before? I don't think the Coast Guard or the Air Force would be too happy about me staying an extra day at Hanscomb when I'm supposed to be leaving Friday afternoon/ evening.

ive only been to providence once or twice - for the local guys, what are we thinking once we get down there?

I think that the meet is in Newport.  I'm not sure what the RI guys had in mind.  Maybe a park or something where we can hang out and take some pics.  Maybe we can find a local spot to grab a bite to eat.

There are a boat load of park's, and things in the area. The reason I wanted to do Newport in the spring is because it's a very very nice area but, in the summer you can't move! I figured that in spring time we could go around and hit a few sports for some nice pictures and just chill out. Then we can find a place to eat. Also, it is RI so it doesn't have to be just newport. you could see the whole state in 4 hours lol.

That's true, RI isn't that big at all.  Since you and Dave are the local guys, try and find a spot for everyone to meet up at.  Scope out a few places that we can take pictures, and maybe a long stretch of road that we can do some action pictures too.  Then we can figure out a place to go grab some food.  If there's any way we could do a driving tour of the mansions in Newport, I could probably get my gf to come along.

We can do the cliff walk if you would like. It's a paved walkway that goes behind alot of the mansions, and along the water. Really some breath taking views. We would proabaly be best off meeting somewhere before crossing the bridge into Newport. I'll take a ride down there next weekend and look at some spots. Maybe Dave can think of somewhere good to meet.

Im pretty pumped about this, and i think RI is a great place to do it. Theres lots of places for foto ops. How far is Newport from RWU?

If your considering somewhere to stay do yourself a favor and stay outside of Newport. You will proabalby get crushed if you stay in Newport it self. Maybe look at something in Warwick RI. Newport is very very expensive.

Well, considering I'm going to be in Boston already, I'll probably stay there and caravan with Tim. I don't know yet.

I wanna say that some of the beaches (1st, 2nd, 3rd beach) have big parking lots that are open, but I could be wrong.  Might be a decent place to put the cars in, since a lot of streets in Newport are narrow and always crowded.  Good bars/cafes though.

The narrow streets, and lack of space is why we chose a date early in the season.

Ya I saw the 18th was a majority but only 6 peeps voted and didnt see anything about it being definite. So if it rains, maybe we can make a rain date as well just to cover all bases.

I would assume it would be around 11:00 am  - 12:00 noon.  I'm not the guy setting this meet up though.  Mike is the man in charge for this one.  I'm sure he's flexible with the times, but I'd wait for him to chime in with his thoughts.

I would say noon time is fine. I think Dave's idea to meet at one of the beaches is probably a good thought. They should have big enough parking lots for all of us, and I dont think that they will be charging for parking that early in the season. When I get my car back I will do my best to take a ride down there, and look aroud but, it's going to be tough for me because I don't currently have my car, and 2 of the next three weeks in Jacksonvile for work.

If Dave is around, I can drive down and we can scope out a few spots one weekend.

I think i'm around all day this saturday if your not available I might just take the bus(my rental) down there.

I'm getting my exhaust installed on Saturday, and I have a birthday party to go to with my gf.

Sorry Dave.  I told Mike that I couldn't make it on the 18th because of other plans that got changed for me.  So I asked for the date to be changed.

i thought i was good anytime in april as well, but all of a sudden stuff popped up. turns out i could have done this weekend cause my dad bailed on me. the 25th my sister isnt going to be in RI shes gonna be here in LI. And its so rare that i get to see her that i like to spend all the time i can. the 11th i cant do it cause a family friend is having a celebration because she became a minister so im going to that. That's the weekend that my new schedule takes effect, so depending on how my job "transitions" into it I might or might not be good for the 25th.  It just sucks because now with the date change, we're losing 4-5 people who coulda made it on the 18th.

The pretty weather lady said that the weather is going to be very nice this Saturday.  A few MA guys are meeting up at another members house to do a quick detail before we roll down to the meet.  If anyone is interested in meeting up before the meet, hit me up.
