Hi Gen7Accord family,

It's sad to say that Gen7Accord.net will be shutting down next month. It started out as an amazing network of great people, but as I stepped away from moderation and every day participation, it's been harder for me to manage.

I've been paying for all our costs from day one from my own pocket, but alas it's come to the point where I don't think I will be able to come back and really make the most out of it.

We started back in 2003, can you believe it? It's been a great run.

If anyone is interested in taking over payments and administration, please let me know, otherwise we will be shutting down by February 10th, 2012.

Not unexpected, but sadness nevertheless, since that is where it all started for a lot of us, myself included.

Um, Dave, um, its been discussed in the chat thread. We've even sort of talked Tim into taking it over and renaming it gen7space.

C'mon Dave... If most of us still have accounts there you would think this has already been discussed no?

As of now, I am talking to Art about this.  I guess there is another member over there that is trying to take over the responsibilities.  I have asked for the domain though.  We will see what Art decides to do.

I say convince him to let you get the domain so this way we have all the member's from there come on over here and strengthen our community!

Well, we shall see what will happen.  This forum has never had the opinion that "more is better" when it comes to membership.  We have the philosophy that "better is better".

Got the email too. One comment in the email irked me: "I've been paying for all our costs from day one from my own pocket". Although Art did coverer most of the costs, members, including myself, did step in and donate or fund raise in way of decals and/or tshirts. Would have been nice to credit the membership (or at least the old crew).

Sam, don't sweat it.  Even though the money to pay for this site comes from my bank account, I always appreciate and acknowledge the members that have made donations here.  Don't take your g7a stickers off yet.  I have a feeling g7a will still be around in some form or another.

I've had them on for a few years now, what's another couple months :)
Excited to see what happens!

1.  I don't actively read the chat thread.
2.  I was under the impression that most of you guys parted ways with G7A a long time ago and never looked back.

All I felt the need to do was make a thread about the possible closure and see what people thought about it, hoping that someone might have an interest in saving it, and getting rid of the Myspace-type layout.  If you feel that this thread is just a double discussion, than delete it.

It's all good Dave. Most of us did part ways awhile back. Personally, I haven't been there in months. I wish I could say there's something in the works but it's not up to me so I can't.
