Title: (Howard Viele) Phoenix Spyderco CUSTOM MADE SCALES Post by: SHLEE on February 01, 2012, 05:26:51 PM I had this idea of customizing my (Howard Viele) Spyderco Phoenix with Micarta handles and Titanium body to a perfect blend of Machine vs Nature. So I sought out to find the Perfect Wood. I found a guy who makes Acoustic/electric guitars with superb craftsmanship and had some Birds Eye Maple laying around. We decided to give it a go and I will post the progress pictures as we get closer to the finished product. I am in love with this idea (this is my daily carry.) I hope you guys dont take offense that I did this, but I became obsessed with the idea years back. So here it goes.... Im also a Pledging member of Kniferights.org as well as the NRA to protect our Second amendment. Here are the pics...
