some sort of Grey Metallic
you don't know the actual color?  you should at least get a paint code for it, just in case you need to paint match new parts, like a lip.  Looks good though!  Can't wait to see better pics.

Post by: timot_one on December 23, 2011, 11:01:58 AM
Looks similar to the Graphite Black Pearl now.  It's definitely darker now.  Is it just the pics, or did they repaint it a darker color?

Title: Re: [Profile] Rushzer0
Post by: Rushzer0 on December 23, 2011, 11:38:28 AM
The car when it started life was alabaster silver, then whoever had the car before me got them to paint it the darker grey in the very first couple of pics I posted. It was a shitty job, didn't even look like they scuffed it :p the paint was just peeling off.

So after the kid hit me and they couldn't match the color, and after striking a deal with the kids father she got a full on repaint. It is very similar to the graphite pearl, but it's Subaru dark gray metallic found on their newer models. Depending on the light it looks black, gray, blue or purple. I'm pretty happy with it. It was killing me before seeing all the paint chip and peels everywhere before.

That would be awesome!! Amazon is where I found some Trimbrite Blackout Tape t9005. If you want PM me your paypal and I'll shoot you some cash for the tape+shipping and a little extra for the trouble.

I dunno about the trim thing but mine has chrome and I hate it :/

Got my headlights and fogs, going to try and put them in this weekend. Hopefully I can figure out this fog light wiring. There are tons of guides out there but mine seems to be one of the more complicated harnesses. There doesn't seem to be a very detailed guide out there either :/ I'm just hoping I can figure it out when I take it out to the car ahaha I have the harness laid out in the living room trying to figure it out. In other news I ordered an OEM Style Lip should be a good project I foresee lots and lots of sanding in my future ahaha here are some pics of the new parts.  (http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j51/rushzer0/e26b593f.jpg)

I'd reconsider using that aftermarket harness and replace it with an OEM one.  Those aftermarket harnesses are almost always fucked up and don't work properly.

Title: Re: [Profile] Rushzer0
Post by: Rushzer0 on February 09, 2012, 11:16:07 PM
Ya I'm looking at it thinking this is probably the worst excuse for a harness I have ever seen...do they sell the harness separately? If they do I might as well hit up the dealership tomorrow, I'll order an OEM switch while I'm at. This POS is way too big :p

They do sell the harness and switch separately. I bought two sets for two different sets of lights.

08V31-SDA-10030 - cabin harness
08V31-SDN-10031 - engine bay harness
39795-SB2-003 - relay #1

Nice headlights. How much were they?

They were $250 shipped to my door, that was for the headlights, fog lights, junk switch, and junk wiring, shipping to Canada from Cali and duty.

Ya I may have to order from the states does rich at autofair carry them? They want $312.55 for the harnesses switch and relays here :p ....

Ya really fucking ridiculous! Worse comes to worse, my friend (the guy who builds audio systems, he has a Monte Carlo that he puts into sound comps) and I are going to build a harness. Another thing apparently the whole fog light kit for our accords have been discontinued, found that out when I was at the stealership also.

Looking good Austin!  Really liking that paint color matched with those new headlights.  I hope that you are able to sort through the fog light wiring... As Tim stated previously, try to obtain the OEM wiring harnesses (if not stupid ridculous in price  :D); makes install much more efficient :)

Ya it's just for the fogs that they added the 2dr tag, because they also sell 4dr fogs I'm sure you can find the headlights by themselves. Keywords I used when searching "Black, Smoked, Clear, Clear corner" Hope that helps.

Been a while since I was able to access the site did a couple of changes. I got my beater rims on (helped a friend with a swap so I got them for next to nothing) painted my ugly chrome trim and dressed up the engine bay a bit better. (wire wheel and repainted my valve cover) Also Adjusted the valve lash and it purrs like a kitten now. Here are some recent pics.

Thanks Tim. I think it's just the angle of the photos. They are 17x7.5 with a 45 offset so they are not very aggressive at all. I wrapped them in 225/45 tires, stock height. I'll try to take some better pics. They do come close to being flush though....for stock height that is :p plus it's something other then stock wheels until I purchase some good wheels and have the mods necessary to fit them.

Post by: Rushzer0 on April 14, 2014, 09:23:05 AM
Welp it's been a while and not much has been done to the car. I'm still just collecting parts.

The car now needs another respray and some body work, caught some Honda cancer in the rear quarters.

However now that the GF has a car (and soon to also have a company car), and having a metric shit ton of more disposable income thanks to not having to pay for things such as rent, heat, lights, power etc.. (due to living in the penthouse of the motel) plans for my car have changed. Access to a proper garage also has a lot to do with it.
Come spring my car is coming off the road for teardown and build up.

It's going to be a weekend fun car, to blast through the highlands with.

Plans are as follows:

1) Complete teardown EVERYTHING (but the glass) is coming out or off. Wiring, suspension, motor, trans, carpet, sound deadner all coming off.
2) Car is going on the rotisserie so we will be able to easily access everything for cleaning, painting, welding etc.
3) Going to be stich welding the chassis
4) Debating putting in a cage
5) Will get the body back to top shape, along with repainting it.
6) Weight loss wherever we can.
7) Going to stick with the plan of boosting her
8) May do a partial tuck since everything is coming off it anyways.
9) Rear seats are coming out of it, and replacing the fronts with something lighter

There is probably more stuff but I can't think of it at the moment. I may end up doing some crazy fab stuff, been reading BlackandDecker's Aggressive As F**k threads over on k20a and getting inspired.

I got quite a few new parts built up waiting to go on right now.
Complete powersteering system from pump to rack, since all my front end parts, and rear links etc are all lifetime warrenty moog parts, I will be replacing all those through work (defective returns ftw)
I also got some new fenders, weatherstriping, and a bunch of other aftermarket stuff lying around.

It should be a fun and busy summer  :D

Title: Re: [Profile] Rushzer0

The amount of work doesn't scare me, If it takes me a few years so be it. It's the direction I always wanted to go with my car. I won't be going at the project alone either, I got one or two friends who are red seal welders who owe me a few favors...on a related note doing headgaskets on a 6.0l f350 is just horrible...have to lift the cab off the frame to get access  :o

Having access to the garage with all the proper equipment will speed up the process...more so that i can walk 30 secs from the new place to it.

And the project could be crazier the guys are trying to convince me in cutting up the chassis adding a tunnel, room for and support for a rear diff and putting a crv drive train underneath....their argument "It's going to be on the jig anyways and we have our engineering degrees...it can't be that hard"  ::) They are the crazy ones.

Title: Re: [Profile] Rushzer0
Post by: timot_one on April 15, 2014, 09:34:41 AM
That's an awesome idea!  I would do it if I had the time and resources.  I just don't want to have the down time on my car.  It's been down long enough and I want to drive it again.  If you're going as far as tearing everything out to redo it all, you should cage it.  I would.

Title: Re: [Profile] Rushzer0
Post by: Rushzer0 on April 15, 2014, 10:28:23 AM
Ya the cage is a go, after talking to my friend he suggested we weld the cage in before stitch welding to help keep the body true. so with the car on the jig and a cage welded in, plus with using proper techniques (jumping around to avoid heat buildup) the body should stay true....plus cage = racecar  :D

Indeed!

Also for laughs looked up some info....

CRV:
Length: 182.7
Width: 70.1
Track Front/Rear: 60.6/61.4

Accord Coupe 2.4:
Length: 187.6
Width: 71.3

hmmmmm...pretty close

Welp looks like the car is getting pulled off the road sooner then I expected. My TPS has finally shit the bed all together. I ordered an aftermarket replacement through work ( Techsmart Part#: T42003 ) Went to put it on and noticed that the part of the TPS that the throttle plate connects to is clocked 90 degrees the wrong way. Putting it on the car would have held the throttle plate open constantly. No biggie must just be a defective unit.....nope. Called the warehouse all the rest are the same...called the rep let him know and now they are recalling them to fix the issue....so figured since the car is out of service now would be a good time to start the teardown.

The GF and I have been talking about buying her a car for a while, and my sister decided to sell her Mazda 3 so we are going to buy it and use that for a while. It's also automatic so she can drive it.

You can always get a k tuned v2 TPS.

Title: Re: [Profile] Rushzer0

Went out and bought the mazda for a daily driver. So the accord is officially off the road and sitting at the garage waiting for tear down to start. I won't be able to get to it this weekend though, helping a friend fix his jacked-up F350...box sides and wheel houses, plus a full repaint....not fun.

On the plus side he's helping with the accord, so its give and take  :D

So expect some progress updates and pics soon.

Been some time since I posted on here and updated my thread...been some time since I had the motivation to even work on my car. Had a rough patch there for a bit. My grandfather and my great aunt passed away, I lived with them most of my life. My grandparents and my great aunt pretty much raised me so it hit me pretty hard and I lost motivation to do much of anything. However I recently started getting the urge to do something so here we go.

I went and decided to take the head off the car to see what the hell was going on, it still didn't want to run even after putting all new sensors and a TPS in it......

Found out it wasn't the TPS, or the cam sensors or the crank sensors...should have did the math...the reason all the sensors were throwing codes was because the timing chain stretched (or the tensioner shit the bed) and threw the timing off  :mad6: . The head is a mess...pistons look like crap. The block looks ok haven't taken it apart yet.  :(

So I picked up a wrecked accord, a rollover I believe. Paid $600 for the whole car 4dr 2.4 auto I just bought it for the motor, and some pieces here and there. My friend and I are pulling a motor from the donor accord and my accord tomorrow. He wants my dead motor (he is building a k24/k20 RSX). The good news is the new motor has a lot less miles on it then mine did (Mine had 300xxx miles this one has just under 80k) So tomorrow should be a busy day.

If anyone wants anything off of it let me know and if it's in good condition and I feel comfortable you will be satisfied with the condition of the part I can take it off and ship it.  (I will take lots of pics). Depending on what you want I probably won't even charge anything just pay the shipping.

I'll take some pics of the adventure tomorrow

Sorry for your loss.

I may be interested in some interior pieces depending on the color and condition.

Well the new motor is in. It took my friend and I all day Saturday to get it done. The car I got it from was a TOTAL right off though...I didn't even find any good interior parts in the car. All the windows were smashed, plastics were either broke or scratched to fuck (or chewed) and it was sitting outside for 2 years, something built a nest in there. It was garbage. When we were finished I just called a wrecker to come take it away, They gave us $100 for the car which bought food and beer for the day ahaha.

The motor on the other hand was Mint. Odometer read 53,434 miles. So much fresher then my old motor. It purrs like a kitten. Now to put it into storage for the winter, and start collecting some parts for the old girl.

Oh really? I'm looking for a head at the moment. K20a2,z3,k24a2 doesn't really matter.

He is selling them complete.  I'm sure you can hunt around and find a good cylinder head on k20a.  k24a2 heads go pretty cheap because people don't think they're worth it.  Hell, you'd be good with a CR-V head.
