I wanted to personally invite you all to CanAm '11.  It's in Mass instead of Niagara Falls, Canada this year, so we expect a much bigger American turnout.  Tim went last year and can attest to much fun this event is. Not your typical Honda scene meet, trust me!

This is more of a "budget" hotel with very basic amenities.

This hotel is literally right behind the Red Roof, and is much nicer. The rooms at Residence Inn's are "apartment style" meaning they have kitchens with appliances, nice beds, flat screens and sleep at least four people.

*People will be coming in from out of town, so we will plan dinner and drinks at a restaurant close to the hotels which is TBD.


Saturday, August 20th 2011 - Meet & Cruise Day
9:30am

Where:
Italian Sporting Club
349 Cooper Street
Agawam, MA 01001

What: Car show, BBQ, Chinese Raffle to benefit Komen For The Cure.

Cost: Mandatory $10 donation per car (not per person). This will cover entry into the meet/show, participation in the cruise and a raffle ticket. All proceeds after overhead (food cost, venue rental, promotional items, raffle prizes, etc) will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Breast Cancer Awareness).


3:30pm

*We leave the Italian Sporting Club for a one hour cruise through the hills and back roads of Western Massachusetts. The cruise route has already been planned out and it's going to be awesome.


4:30 - 5:00pm

*Everyone will rendezvous at the Agawam Junior High School after the cruise. Reason for this is that people will be broken up into groups of 8-10 cars led by a CanAm Coordinator familiar with the cruise route. This is where everyone will meet up before we break off.



5:30 - 8:00pm

*For people staying overnight, this will be the time for you to get back to your hotel rooms, rest a bit, and get cleaned up for dinner, drinks and shenanigans.


8:00pm - ??:?? Dinner and drinks at Hooters of West Springfield


*I picked this location because for one, it's awesome, but more so because it's located literally right next door to the Red Roof Inn and the Residence Inn. It's a two minute walk, or five to ten minute stumble from the front door of Hooters to your hotel room. So there will be no need to worry about drinking and driving because you won't have to!! If you can't walk, Carrielynn with be providing piggyback rides from the restaurant to the hotel for 25 cents.

I want a canam

Wish I could make it out to CanAm this year.  It's a week after I get back from my honeymoon.  Anyway, I'm not sure if my car will be back together and ready for a road trip by then.  Have fun though guys.  Maybe I'll roll out with the OH crew next year or something.

Since the question has been asked a couple times:

CanAm Cruise stands for Canadian-American Cruise and is an annual Accord-based meet & cruise.  It's not just for Accords, there's a bunch of other Hondas/Acuras and some other cars, too.  But Accords are still the focus.  The past 3 years it has been held in Niagara Falls, Ontario.  This is the first year we're bringing it to the States.

It's not your typical hard parking Honda scene meet.  Getting to know everybody and people feeling like part of a big family is the name of the game.   I know there's a handful of 7th gens already coming, hope to see some of you guys, too.

I might be able to make a huge detour on my way back to texas if i leave durng that time to go to this... just depends on cas flow

FL to TX?  That's a big fucking detour.  If you end up driving through OH, hit me up.  I'm in the Dayton area.

Probably never.  It's too difficult to get everyone together and nobody is willing to coordinate it.  You can start a thread if you're interested in putting one together.

I was super pumped when I saw this was going to be in MA until I saw the date. If I was going to be around this weekend I would be there in a heart beat but unfortunately Ive had a camping trip planned for that weekend for about 6 months... 

Do you know if there are going to be plans to do this in the states for the next few years since its been in Canada the past few?

I'm a strong MAYBE for this event. It's looking like my gf & i may have to change our vacation plans for the week after. She now wants to go to Vermont, me not so much, so as a compromise we'll try n include this into our vacation. Then again, I may have to run down to see Paul in NVA....

Sounds good.  Whereabouts in VT?  Cuz there are some amazing driving roads going up through the berkshires and into VT, depending on where you'd be going.

Im not sure as yet. I heard that Burlington was a good area, I have to look into it.

Also, Friday's "Kickoff Cruise" has been set for 5pm. Meet at the hotel parking lot.  We'll have a nice drive, and then get back and head to dinner by 7pm. Then... let the shenanigans begin!
