Title: Bad news Post by: striktlyaccord on May 23, 2011, 12:00:57 AM I hit a deer tonight doing almost full highway speed on route 146 south in Massachusetts up near Uxbridge/Millbury at around 8:50pm. Thing came out of nowhere, and I was aware enough to quickly maneuver to the left partially into the high-speed lane to try and avoid it, but it slammed my front passenger side and totally destroyed my custom bumper, fogs, and retrofit. Not sure if I killed it or not, but I feel bad either way. I have full coverage insurance, but this just came at a horrible time in life. The cop/AAA said that they had two deer collisions around the same time and the same spot last night. Props to the AAA driver too because he was an avid car guy as well and took great care of my lowered car while putting it on the flatbed. Off to the garage tomorrow to start over, but I don't know what to do anymore.
Pros: -No injuries/I'm alive -Maneuvered quickly enough to avoid a dead-on hit -No airbags went off -For now, there seems to be no engine or suspension damage (although a further inspection is needed) -AAA is awesome Cons: -Custom front bumper, fogs, and RETROFITS are shot -No reliable transportation -I feel bad for the animal Damage: (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2128/5749036825_e346387906_z.jpg) Title: Re: Bad news Post by: Jeff Likes Bagels on May 23, 2011, 12:06:12 AM Shit man, it sucks to see stuff like this after what I've done to my car. I know how you feel, but it's a good thing you're okay.

Some guy on another forum (maybe V6p... not sure) posted up some pics a month or so ago, had a TSX SC with a full Accord Euro R swap (interior and all) posted up these sexy ass pics with his buddys TL SC and then pics of an hour after the shoot when he hit a deer doin like 45... bastards (the deer).
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: thisaznboi88 on May 23, 2011, 11:51:12 AM ahhh I got your msg. As long as your okay its all good. Try saving the projector and the signal white piece. I can always make another retrofit for you, and don't feel bad shit happens but your still alive.
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: InFuMoUs on May 23, 2011, 02:13:58 PM Sorry to hear about your misfortune man. Glad you're ok and it could've been worst....like colliding into a pole, another vehicle, or deer going straight through the car.
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: CrazyCreashunz on May 24, 2011, 09:36:43 AM Damn Dave sorry to hear bro, glad your ok though... the ride can be fixed!
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: striktlyaccord on May 26, 2011, 01:27:56 PM It's been a tough few days.
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: Mike on May 26, 2011, 02:33:03 PM Whats the word on damage/repairs?
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: sherker55 on May 27, 2011, 09:49:15 AM Glad you are ok dude, could have been worse.
here's my deer encounter... In High school I hit a mule deer in my 1977 plymouth fury, out in colorado. incase you don't know, mule deer are huge, definately bigger than white tails. well we were coming out of the mountains but heading up hill, when we got to the top, a deep jumped out in front of us going about 45. took his legs out, flipped up and landed on the hood. we jumped out of the car, the deer jumped up and sprinted off! not a scratch on the car, or should I say TANK! big difference in parts, construction though... Title: Re: Bad news Post by: striktlyaccord on May 28, 2011, 10:30:07 PM Over $6,200 in estimated damage and repairs. I still need to have a detailed discussion with the appraiser, but of course they're closed until Tuesday because of the damn holiday.
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: Mike on May 28, 2011, 11:44:11 PM Thats not to bad but, expect that number to go up after they start working on it. Generally the estimator misses stuff and they find it during repair.
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: striktlyaccord on May 31, 2011, 01:24:38 AM ^ I know. Some stuff I wasn't even expecting to be on there because it looked perfectly fine. I'm just dreading having to battle to get them to get it customized back to how it was rather than throwing stock-looking aftermarket junk on and calling it a day.
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: Mike on May 31, 2011, 08:45:52 AM If its at your normal shop they will be able to help you out a little in that area.
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: slipkord on May 31, 2011, 08:53:31 AM Srry to hear Dave...what's up with all the Accords getting into accidents??
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: striktlyaccord on June 05, 2011, 07:49:33 PM It's at Prov. Auto Body. Now if only my insurance company would actually return my phone calls, that would be nice.
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: striktlyaccord on July 02, 2011, 10:10:58 PM Got the car back yesterday. Looks pretty good, but I have to fix some of the aftermarket parts that they put back on like absolute crap.
Title: Re: Bad news Post by: Rich01 on July 09, 2011, 07:13:57 PM Nice! Glad you got your ride back Dave.
