Title: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: slipkord on October 08, 2010, 06:56:16 PM ;D
What a bunch of idiots...200tq and they can't control it? I know it's light but come on. Some of these crashed are brutal, they must of been hauling major ass. http://electrovelocity.com/2010/10/08/the-tesla-roadster-crashes-a-109000-mistake/?ref=nf (http://electrovelocity.com/2010/10/08/the-tesla-roadster-crashes-a-109000-mistake/?ref=nf) Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: Mike on October 08, 2010, 08:00:42 PM Idiots....

What a bunch of fucktards to go and wreck these things. Yes its electric and instant power is provided as soon as the throttle is hit but that's just fucking ridiculous. Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: timot_one on October 09, 2010, 08:25:26 AM Meh. I'm not crazy about electric cars.

Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: Mike on October 09, 2010, 09:35:33 PM I'd drive the Tesla though
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: slipkord on October 09, 2010, 10:02:15 PM If I had the money it would be one of my top 20
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: timot_one on October 09, 2010, 11:00:14 PM If I had the money, I'd buy a car that's less harmful to the environment. It would probably be a '55 Chevy 210 with a blown 572.
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: slipkord on October 09, 2010, 11:03:07 PM Less harmful than what? Haha
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: timot_one on October 09, 2010, 11:06:47 PM Less harmful than an electric car.
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: Mike on October 10, 2010, 01:08:06 PM LOL yeah a blown 510 is great for fossil fuel consumption.
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: CrackerTeg on October 10, 2010, 01:34:34 PM Its not like we're going to tap our fossil fuels in this lifetime. Why not have fun with it?
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: timot_one on October 10, 2010, 03:07:36 PM I'm being totally srsly too. A blown 572 would be less harmful to the environment than an electric car. The self righteous people that buy hybrids or electric cars to flaunt the fact they are eco-friendly, fail to recognize how harmful manufacturing the batteries are to the environment. Just because it doesn't burn fossil fuels doesn't mean that it is good for the environment.
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: Mike on October 11, 2010, 08:57:20 AM Renewable energy. If the battries are recycled what negitive effects are there on the enviroment? I'm really wondering this is a conversation I've never had.
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: slipkord on October 11, 2010, 08:59:49 AM Those batteries are only designed to last 80k miles, at least in the hybrid cars
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: Mike on October 11, 2010, 09:02:25 AM I understand that but, if the componets are recycled like they are supposed to be than I don't see how that is a negative impact.
Title: Re: Tesla Roadster Crashes – A $109,000 Mistake Post by: timot_one on October 11, 2010, 11:25:40 AM I understand that but, if the componets are recycled like they are supposed to be than I don't see how that is a negative impact. Look into the environmental damage caused by producing the batteries. The recycling thing is just so they don't fuck up the environment even more. Here are a few articles that talk about the environmental damage caused by manufacturing the batteries in hybrids. http://hubpages.com/hub/Prius (http://hubpages.com/hub/Prius) http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/swiss-environmental-study-finds-ev-battery-production-impacts-outweighed-by-operation-impacts/ (http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/swiss-environmental-study-finds-ev-battery-production-impacts-outweighed-by-operation-impacts/) http://forums.motortrend.com/70/6259344/the-general-forum/prius-outdoes-hummer-in-environmental-damage-so-go/index.html (http://forums.motortrend.com/70/6259344/the-general-forum/prius-outdoes-hummer-in-environmental-damage-so-go/index.html) http://www.hybridcars.com/battery-toxicity.html (http://www.hybridcars.com/battery-toxicity.html) http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~coreyp/hybridenvimp.html (http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~coreyp/hybridenvimp.html) As you can tell, I am anti-hybrid and anti-electric because of the harmful effects of battery production. It is grossly overlooked when compared to cars that burn fossil fuels. I'd prefer to see alternative fuels used instead of electrics. |
