Title: CamberTires
Post by: CrackerTeg on August 17, 2010, 04:55:31 AM
Good things to come? As enthusiasts, these seem to be the holy grail as far as performance, comfort and longevity with regards to tires. One of the things we sacrifice when we mod our suspensions is the life of our tires. What do you guys think? BTW, I spotted this topic over on DA.net but we're a little bit more performance oriented than they are so I had to share this.

New York Times article on them. (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/01/automobiles/01CAMBER.html?_r=3)

Quick piece on them in Jay Leno's garage. (http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/video/camber-tires/1236995/)

Save your comments on Jay Leno and the people in the video. This has strictly to do with the tires. I honestly don't care for Leno but to each his own.

Its luck I found it before one of da.net's asshat admin's decided to ban my IP. Must be because I'm where I'm at and saw it as a threat.

Nah.  He's a great target for our ridicule.  Anyway, back on topic.  I wonder if this fucker is ever going to start manufacturing and selling those bad boys.  I'll get in line.  The tires he featured in the Jay Leno video are my size!!

i know alot of people are probably saying this

but i was totally thinking about something like that, except mine was more like a tire that is just tapered so that you can run camber but still have full contact

From the video it seems that they were trying to approach manufacturers with the process since it can be adapted to their current manufacturing process.
